Constellation Map mobile Hack 1.0.63 + Redeem Codes

Really helps me understand my place in the cosmos. Best representation of these ideas I’ve seen!
I’m wondering if the location of the horizon line- with cardinal directions on it- set via the latitude adjustment- is in the wrong orientation. When I set latitude to 0 degrees, it aligns the horizon at the celestial pole, not the celestial equator as I understand it, but I’m new to these concepts. Similarly, when my latitude is set to 30 degrees, it is 30 degrees from the pole, not the equator, and thus showing the wrong position. Let me know what I’m getting wrong please!

UPDATE:
Thanks for the response! Many drawings later I notice that declination facing north is 90- latitude thanks to basic geometry, and thus the app is indeed spot on and I was wrong. I think I assumed declination and latitude would be equal before and now see their relation. This helps me understand where the celestial equator is in relation to my position now. Let me know if that’s still off! Cheers.

(CORRECTION) This app does everything you’ll ever ask of it EXCEPT tell you when Betelgeuse will go supernova. I was SO hoping this app would tell me when. The devs should really fix this soon...

The only reason why it gets a 4 is that there seems to be no way to get it to show by name the position of all the planets in our solar system.

Edit for clarification:
As in, I cannot do a search for Pluto. When I try nothing happens. When I search for Neptune I see a circle blip when I follow the arrow. No name. So I would like to be able to see all the planets in our solar system automatically displayed along with the closer planets.

App looks nice, but it’s well over 90 degrees off: I point it southeast, but it shows north. Not useful that way.

Updated review:
I’m not sure what happened since the last time I opened the app, but it appears to be correct now. Unfortunately, there’s apparently no way to remove the ads, which means I won’t keep the app on my phone. Nevertheless I’ve upgraded my rating from one to three stars.

When I was younger, I had a star chart. Also have some binoculars for the stars, but that app was only a cardboard piece of paper laminated with stars on it I can actually move my phone around and hold the universe in my hand at the same time!

No annoying in app purchases. Perfect tool for backyard astronomy and keeps my little son busy too. Oh and the moon phases and the solar orbits are very nice touches. Nothing extra. Just enough. From a software engineer perspective I just like to say well done.

This app makes it so easy to identify constellations and you can even see what constellations are in different hemispheres! I love how it looks and that it is dark enough that it doesn’t blind you when you are trying to look at the sky 😊

I live in a small town in South Georgia. My neighborhood doesn’t even have street lights. Needless to say I get incredible stars at night. I use Orion’s Belt as my starting point. then I use the app to name all the stars from there. I used this app to find Venus and a host of other stars. Great app. Highly recommended.

I love this app. It doesn’t have those weird drawings of stylized swans and bears. It has the stars that I see when I look at the sky. The crosshair is great for poor light. When I can only see a few stars, I can tell which ones I’m looking at.

This app is better than all the others I have tried. I was searching for apps with more capability and found this one. Sure wish I had started with this app!
