Gets it about half right
The app is only good for basic camera adjustments (video / light / other settings). They removed record button and you can’t control both front and rear camera together. You have to set up one, close app and open app to set up second. The startup process for recording is also different for each camera. Also, it’s good to wake camera w the app to synchronize the time for each or the clocks might be off for integration to Strava. If you figure all that out you’re good to go. I’m rooting for them but much work ahead to sort this out for a good user experience.
Once running, footage is good. Don’t get me started on the Strava Integration lol - let’s hope they can afford additional resources to get these basic functions working properly. I give them a C for effort but please fix it and your sales will improve. I know quite a few riders who gave up on their Fly cameras because they are hard to use w the app.

Figuring out how to download video or update S/W is just miserable

Cycliq, your cameras are beautiful little feats of engineering. Sturdy, high quality, well thought out.
Your software experience unfortunately leaves all of that great hardware in a very difficult to use state. This app tells me “please wait” and shows a spinner for 90% of the time I’m using it. Very often I have to force quit the app and reopen it because a spinner has been on screen for several minutes.
Complete your product. Fix the software you tout as part of the experience. Put even half the care into the app that you put into your retail packaging and you’ll be 💯 better positioned than you are today.

Why do I keep buying these?
I’m on my fourth Cycliq tail light but my first headlight camera. The Fly12CE is great. The Fly 6CE and Gen3, not so much.
Part of the challenge is this CycliqPlus software. It does not work reliably (for example, as I type this I am not able to rename my device). The incident mode turns off the camera automatically. If you lay your bike down to take a pee, for example, it enables incident mode. No problem. But the problem comes when you’re riding and then the camera shuts down after 30 minutes. Zero ability to disable the auto shutdown. If the files are locked, why would I want it to shut down? I want it to keep recording after an incident to get what’s being said around me when I’m on the ground.
And more related to hardware than software, the battery life on the Fly6’s is terrible. Even the new Gen 3 won’t last an entire ride if you have the light activated.

Misleading advertising, at best
Well, where to start with this garbage hardware and software? Probably with the software because it’s the App Store...

How is that helpful in any way in case of an accident and you need to share them in the field? It’s not, and you can’t.
Besides being unable to view what the camera is recording, you can’t even start or stop it from the app. If it’s on, it’s recording. That’s their solution.
Oh, and the video quality is mediocre at best, even at 1080p/60.
I should have just bought a GoPro and a separate light. At least I would have useful footage and decent software.

Low Quality App
Every time I switch views in the app, it performs a slow refresh of the page (spinner is showing, can’t do anything) that lasts 6 seconds.
Every time I change any setting of my Fly6 CE I get the message “your microSD card has been formatted” I didn’t want to format my card! (It appears not to actually have formatted the card...)
Regarding the cycliq hardware, why do the Fly6CE and Fly12CE work differently!? Changing the the lights on the two use the buttons differently, and they lock their files differently. Were there seriously different teams building the two devices differently!?

Not really functional with new CE devices
Cycling has great tech but the support and especially this app is lacking. Tutorials show decent functionality with the older Fly 12 & Fly 6. I have the Fly12ce and Fly6ce and the only thing this app is good for is changing the device settings. There is no way to review or edit footage. This app only controls one device at a time so if you have both the front and rear devices, you can’t operate both at the same time. Cycliq has a very long way to go on updating this app to work with their new devices. It’s troubling that this has not been a priority since these newer devices have been out for 5-6 months now.

Terrible app and abysmal device
There is no way to edit or even view video footage using the app. Basically, it has no purpose except to change a few minor settings. Worse, the app thinks it’s connected to a device I don’t even own and is now unusable. Even after restarting my phone and relaunching the app, it’s still stuck on that device.
Forget using the desktop app. That doesn’t work either. It just freezes on the video loading screen. How do you make a camera in 2018 that provides no way to retrieve and edit the footage? This may be the worst consumer electronics purchase I have ever made. Unbelievable.

Not very useful
The main purpose of their product is recording video. So you’d think the companion app would allow you to do something with this video. It does not. Not for iOS. You can’t view footage from the camera on your phone. But they do allow you to import video from your phone that you took. That’s pointless cause your phone already has video editing abilities. It would be nice if this worked the GoPro app where you can see the camera view on your phone so you know how level you can make the recordings and then import the video from the camera.

Slow, freezes and locks up
Use your computer to control and view your recordings. Don’t try to use the phone app. It’s frustrating to use. Even deleting the app and reloading the app doesn’t help. The phone app is slow, the screen freezes and locks up requiring an app shut down to try again to use the app; which then after reopening again won’t work well. It doesn’t connect well to my Fly12. The app is not recommended. My star rating could have gone lower if that was permitted.
