Works first time and every time. Quick reference for correct articles, which can be a little confusing.

This app has helped me learn the gender of some nouns I’m unfamiliar with, but in its current form it’s a little too bare-bones to be helpful. I know the app is not meant mainly to help with vocabulary, but it would be helpful to see the English translation to jog my memory or help with words that I don’t know. Also, the words seem to lean too heavily on words that follow consistent rules in their genders, like words that end with -in or -ung and are always feminine. I can see how this app could help with learning this pattern, but once you know it, it becomes repetitive to have so many nouns with the same endings, especially in the “advanced” and “expert” difficulties, which I hoped would include words that have genders that are more difficult to predict and have to be memorized.

My favorite feature is collecting “favorites” so I can review past mistakes. I’ve definitely seen improvement in a couple months of using the app. It also exposes me to new words but I wish it had more complete translations and/or example sentences. I’d also like to see it tell me more about my progress… what’s my average score, not just my latest score? Within my favorites, how often have I gotten each word correct vs. incorrect?

This seems to be geared toward learners who already have a very large vocabulary, and has little use to beginner or lower-intermediate level learners. The words in question appear on the screen, but if you don’t already know what the word means, you’re left randomly guessing the article and then never knowing what the word meant! How is a student supposed to remember the article association like that? Big oversight by the app developers in my opinion, and the reason I won’t be using it anymore.

This has been extremely helpful in memorizing the gender of nouns. I favorite the nouns I am learning and play the game often to instill the gender. I gave it only four stars because I would like to be able to easily see the English translation of the noun. Some words I learned last year, but do not regularly use, I have forgotten their translation. I do, however, remember their gender;)

I wish it would give you the definition of the word as you practice. I imagine this app is used mostly by people learning German, so it would be helpful for when an unfamiliar word comes up.

If it at least showed the definition after you guessed der/die/das, that would be really helpful.

I do appreciate that this app exists at all, though! Very good for some practice.

Why aren’t there English translations or translations of the words provided? We’re obviously not going to know all of them, and mastering articles quickly does mean we need to know what the word is in our native language, German isn’t the kind of language where you intuitively just learn the articles of every word like Spanish. Other than that, fun app!

1. First there are no plurals within the app. Knowing the article plural wether it changes Gender or stays the same but changes ending is important to know.

2. the in app dictionary is top cumbersome. There is a way to change the language to English to see the definition but it has to be Reset each time I believe.

3. the developer hasn’t updated in a year so this is probably falling on def ears.

I use this a app mostly for the game but I wish the German words in the game had the meaning translated. I’m learning a lot the Der, die an Das part, but I do not know the meaning for most of the German words. It would be hard to look up in the dictionary every word very time I get a new word. I will definitely give this application a five star when they add the meaning to the German word in the game.

You will not be considered fluent until you learn the articles for German nouns. This app helps you learn the articles in a fun and easy method. At a min you should read the ruled page, it will help beginners and advanced learners.
