Mit docdirekt startet die Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Baden-Württemberg (KVBW) als erste Kassenärztliche Vereinigung ein innovatives Versorgungs- und Behandlungskonzept für die ambulante medizinische Versorgung.

Möglich wurde docdirekt durch eine Änderung der Berufsordnung durch die Landesärztekammer (LÄK) Baden-Württemberg. Damit bereitete sie den Weg für die Entscheidung der Bundesärztekammer, die 2018 das bis dahin geltende Verbot der Fernbehandlung aufhob. Seitdem dürfen Ärzte Patienten per Telefon oder Video behandeln, ohne sie vorher persönlich zu kontaktieren.

Das docdirekt-Modellprojekt war zunächst auf die Stadt Stuttgart und den Landkreis Tuttlingen beschränkt. Nach einer erfolgreichen Testphase haben die niedergelassenen Ärzte ihr Angebot nun auf das gesamte Bundesland Baden-Württemberg ausgeweitet.

Die KVBW ist für die Organisation der ambulanten medizinischen Versorgung im Land zuständig. Er vertritt die rund 23.000 niedergelassenen Ärzte und Psychotherapeuten in Baden-Württemberg.
