Robert Ryan,
Promising but flawed
I’m trying to use this app on iPad and it’s seriously flawed. In portrait mode on my iPad Pro 12.9”, I see the distance, f-stop, and focal length scrollers, but no numbers appear. It’s only because I’ve seen it on iPhone (and the Pro version on iPad) that I know what’s going on, but not in this version.

After a little experimentation, I’ve discovered that the problem is that the app doesn’t support “dark mode”. If I turn off “dark mode” on my iPad, kill the app, and restart it, then I can see the numbers. It would appear that this app is using default “background” color (allowing it to appear dark), but must have hard coded black as the text color (instead of using the default “foreground” color). The end result, is black on black text when device is in dark mode, rendering the app useless.

This app doesn’t quite render right when in landscape mode, either. Even though my 12.9” iPad Pro has tons of screen real-estate, the three scrollers at the bottom are rendered so small as to be useless. I’d suggest taking a look at the constraints (or frame-setting logic).

This is an incredibly promising app, whose UI is so much nicer than other apps out there. But these sorts of issues make it really a pain to use.
fear_of_malls,
This app has two main issues
Hello app makers!

This app has two main issues:

1. Too much data sharing. I value privacy a lot, and there's no reason an app should be entitled to my data. What I do on my phone is 100% my business, not anyone else's. There should absolutely no background non-consensual data sharing within the app. Having it listed on the app's download page is not consent, since it's treated as "normal," and it does not ask confirmation.

2. Hundreds of out in the open purchase buttons within the app. This is just a bad user experience. Do you really think anyone wants to scroll past hundreds of purchase buttons while using an app? Not only is it cluttered, it also makes it more likely that someone would make an accidental purchase that they didn't mean to. That is the last thing a person should have to worry about in an app. When I download an app, the transaction between you and me is over. If you want money, ask for it up front. Don't hide it within the app. If you don't ask for it up front, I will never purchase anything within the app.

Apologies for the strongly worded message. I have seen so much of this online, I have lost patience for it.
Jayeldeei,
Good but missing latest Sony Camera
Good easy to use app on my iPhone. However, disappointed to see that the latest Sony a7 iv model is not available… and I already paid the extra $1.99 for the Sony cameras. To note, the Sony a7 iv started selling in October 2021, so it’s been almost a year!!!
Hope you can add this model soon! Please!
Peter from PP,
Great app
It works very well. Easy to use!
Evanwish,
Really good minus a few
I love the layout of this app. I wish the aperture stops could choose be in full stops or third stops. I think it’s in quarter stops, which makes no sense. I also wish the user could program in specific vocal lengths to have it snap to.
Twst704,
The Perfect Tool...
When you get to that stage with your photography where you need to know how any given aperture is going to perform (from a focal depth, distance from subject perspective...), this is a must have. Rather that “hearing” how the lens will perform, you get to see it, in real time. Thinking about getting an 85mm f/1.2 or perhaps you have one and can’t figure out why your pics aren’t as sharp as you’ve hoped? It could be the shallow depth of field you’re dialing in. How do you specifically know that? By using this tool!!

Great Job guys!!

SPAM
I downloaded this app and very annoying ad’s for Google Pictures kept popping up. Every time I would close one, another one would hijack my screen. In addition, there were obvious errors in this app as well. When settings were set for Nikon D750 with aperture at 5.6, 200 mm lens setting, when increasing focus distance say from 5’ to greater distances, the DOF would increase as it should until you reached 10’....then the DOF would suddenly revert back to near zero distance and start over again as the focusing distance increase beyond 10’! I deleted the app immediately!
Cfloweriii,
Still Works Great
I’ve been using this app for a few months now after doing plenty of research. This does seem to be the most simple, in the most complete app for general reference of depth of field. I really can’t think of one complaint. Works great on the iPhone eight
Mr. Harry Otto,
Every Feature Is An Upgrade Request! Wow!!
Seems like every button that you press, requests that you pay for another upgrade. The minute I opened up the app, I simply entered my camera, and it asked me to pay for an upgrade. The second the App Store told me that I paid for the upgrade, boom!... there came a big ad that covered up the screen. That’s just crazy. It’s too hard to figure out what this app will cost after you get nickel-n-dimed to death. But hey, at least all I wasted was $.99 LOL…
stanmrich,
So easy
Highly recommend. Free app with ads and in purchase options. Actually spend a few bucks to tailor app to your needs. Really worth a look.
