Efficient but Still a Challenge
Reviewing the question bank of 1500+ questions does help prepare you for the exam. I passed the first time thanks to its help. Expect the test questions to be phrased strangely or cryptically at times. Also, on the actual test (at least in Shanghai), some questions might be slightly different and I even think I encountered one or two totally new questions on the test. Overall, requires some effort but totally doable and app helps!

Best way to pass the test
My wife and I tried to take the test cold and failed. You have to get 90%, 100 questions out of a pool of 1300. The translation makes the questions confusing and the test itself is tricky.
There is no study guide in English and the test is very comprehensive. Even Chinese people usually have to study for a few weeks and fail the first time.
This app is laid out extremely well. The study, training and exam sections are a great way to practice and there is a progress report to show how you are doing.
Learn the police hand signals! They can be confusing and each test has at least 3 questions about them. Also the point system.
Be sure to review all 1300 questions and be able to pass the practice exams above 90% before attempting the real one or you will be wasting your time.
After a week of studying with this app, about 1-2 hrs per day we both passed. 96&94%.

China Drivers License app:
The app should be your first go to if you plan to get a driver's license in China. China has gas vehicles and countless battery powered vehicles. ***IF your vehicle does not have pedals like a bicycle, you need a Chinese driver's license***. I am of the opinion that the rules of the road are near similar in China and the states. HOWEVER... China's interpretation of English - on their exam - is enough to flunk the most proficient English speakers. I drilled these bamboozling questions for a week, and I can pass the practice tests, but barely. ...Also, China requires you to retake the test if you accumulate 12 points in a year cycle.
If you want to challenge yourself with the mundane, this is also an app for you. Thanks BeeBusy. I am not a paid endorser.

Very helpful, but not perfect.
This app definitely helped me pass the Shanghai written driving test in the first round. Unfortunately with new questions this year, not all were on the exam so I failed the first test with 88. They let me retake and I got a 92! Very thankful. The Training function and starring questions I want to review was a good exercise to look at only questions I didn't know.

Great App
Just took my test in Yunnan province. Over half of what I considered tougher questions on the test were ones I saw multiple times on the app. Passed the first time with a 92. Paperwork error resulted in having to test again. Second time was a 96. My friend didn’t use the app until he had failed for the 5th time. Then he passed the first time after studying with the app. Use it!!

Effective
Downloaded the app last week and spent a couple hours a day studying, taking practice exams, and focusing on the problem questions. This morning I went to take the exam and passed. Although some of the wording is a little different from the actual test, with enough practice, the app will prepare you to anticipate the kind of answers the test is looking for.

The app was great. I went online and took the practice test but it every few questions it gave me one I’d just answered minutes earlier. The app was almost like a game, I wanted to view and test all the questions to boost the green percentage on the front page. Passed with a 98 and only studied for a about 5 days. The app is all to blame.

Best app to prepare for the test
This is the best method to prepare for the test. In a week or less you could be ready to pass the test with 90% or above. I scored a 94 and relied on this app exclusively for preparation.
I spent about 7-8 hours in total preparing and did well on the day. Definitely worth it!

Couldn't have done it with "Driving in China"
I downloaded the app on Thursday, reviewed and tested until the following Friday (today) and passed my test with a 97%!
Having all the possible questions, pictures, and odd wording/poor translation in one place was a godsend! The review and explanations were also a huge help.
