Description

Want to learn how to fly a drone or improve your FPV flying skills? Drone On My Phone has been designed by the makers of Electric RC Sim to help you learn and improve faster. It includes challenges for both FPV (First Person View) and LOS (Line Of Sight). Many challenges are free and there is no third-party advertising.

Drone On My Phone now includes larger open maps if you'd rather just fly and focus on freestyle or doing things your way.

Drone On My Phone includes MFi game controller support. iOS 13 and higher supports PS4 and Xbox controllers. VR mode is available with a game controller and suitable headset, including both 2d view (like FPV goggles) and 3d view options.

Drone On My Phone also includes Bluetooth multiplayer racing. Challenge a nearby friend with Drone On My Phone over bluetooth.

Drone On My Phone uses our realistic physics engine. Beginner challenges are performed with the full physics engine and additional stabilization to simplify flying while you are still learning. This is designed to allow you to learn the skills you need a bit at a time rather than being overwhelmed with too much to remember at once. Skills to practice include hovering, landing and flying through gates.

When you feel you are ready, there are more advanced challenges to try. High and low rates are also available. Start low while you are learning, then switch to high rates when you are ready to go faster.

Drone On My Phone also includes a Games map which consists of a number of obstacle courses to fly. These are fun and will help improve your hovering and maneuvering skills.

Additional maps with more challenges are available as a low cost In-App Purchase (IAP) to help you take your skills to the next level. An Advanced Controller is available as a low cost IAP that allows you extra control over things such as expo, rates, FPV camera tilt, and drone mode. The default drone mode is STAB (also called angle mode), which gives automatic stabilization and is great for learning. It's the mode that most store-bought drones use. ACRO drone mode (also called rates mode) is also available via the Advanced Controller for advanced flying such as loops, flips, barrel rolls and maximum speed flying.

To enable a game controller, first pair your controller under iOS Settings, Bluetooth. Button bindings are shown under the Options menu in Drone On My Phone. Once a controller is paired, you can enable VR mode by pressing the appropriate button on your controller. VR mode requires a suitable headset to view properly, such as a Google Cardboard headset.

To challenge a nearby player over Bluetooth, both players should first start Drone On My Phone and go to the "Challenges" page. One player can then press "Host", and the other player can press "Join". When they are connected, the player who is hosting can select challenges and both players can compete in real time. All the free challenges are available to choose from. Also, if the host has purchased additional challenges, then all those challenges will be available as well. Bluetooth has a range of around 20m (60 feet), so you'll want to be sitting near each other. Perfect for that long bus ride or car trip!

We hope you have as much fun playing Drone On My Phone as we had making it (and playing it!)

Here are some of the great App Store reviews we've been getting:

"This is my favorite drone app by far!! Great for a beginner like me trying to learn the basics of flying a real drone."

"... if you can fly successfully using this app, you'll be able to fly the drone of your choice in the real world. The physics are realistic, and the obstacle course style training – in my opinion – is a really great way to learn to control your quad."

"I've been searching for far too long for a good FPV simulator to practice or just play around when I'm at school. This game's physics are some of the closest to life you will find at the time and the controls are spot on!"

"Hands down the best drone simulator on iOS"

choco late 1021,
Awesome fpv flying app, but needs a bit of improvement
First off, I would like to say that this app is awesome! It lets you fly around two different free maps for newer users, and two paid maps for experienced users. Overall, the price tag for these aren’t bad, but I feel as though they could make a few more maps and a little bit of freedom in the game. One thing I really wish the developers would add is a setting to change between Acro and stabilized mode. Even though they have a more convenient stabilized mode, I think more experienced people would want to have a little bit more freedom in their flying. Another thing that would be really cool to have a free mode. Currently, there are tons of levels you can do, even in the free maps, but sometimes I just want to fly around and not have to complete a mission. Other than everything else that I would want to have in the game, it is a phenomenal game and I really thank them for putting the time and effort into a game like this.
Tfyoder1,
Great app for learning how to fly drones
This app is simple and shows all the basics of flying drones. The graphics are not flashy and complex which actually keeps the app from lagging like a lot of the newer apps do. Flying a drone is not like flying a plane, which a lot of people can already do, but this app makes it easy to learn the controls and concepts. It also works offline, so if in a subway or on an airplane, you can still play/practice. 2 player mode over Bluetooth is fun and convenient.

I would like to offer a few areas of future improvement: customizing controls more, such as rates of turning, a score board for best run times. The ability to reset the race in 2 player modes. Races with more than 2 players would also be a great upgrade. A method to mute the sound within the app would be nice. Additional drones could be fun. More maps would also be a great bonus.

Thank you for putting together this great app. I hope to see more improvements in the future!
Aggie036,
Great!... but still needs improvements
All in all, this game is awesome. I've played it so much that my quad flying has come from crap to almost beautiful. But this game still has issues that need to be addressed before you get this sim. The biggest issue with the game is over sensitivity on the sticks. Whenever you put the throttle all the way up, the whole feel of the drone just goes haywire. It'll veer off to the side without your input. This leads me to my next issue and it's that the drone will slowly do that at any throttle position. That wouldn't be a problem if there was trim option on the controls. Lastly, this isn't really a bad thing, but if you buy the fpv package and the map package, there are only racing maps. This is just a little message to the creators of this game that y'all should put a free flight mode in the game. Y'all should make some more open maps too. All in all though. I recommend this game to anyone. It's perfect. It has stabilized mode for beginners and it has acro for the more experienced pilots. I love this sim. Get it! 😀👍👍
FPVanadium,
Good start
It’s a really good start. But there’s so much more that could be added. I love the game in its current stage tho and I play it any chance I get when I’m bored. Some things I would like to see is a leaderboard for racing times, more tracks or a track editor/ creation sand box. Could just have a 3D grid that fills up the stadium and make gates out of blocks. More variables to more drones. Like a bigger battery for the current drone to make it feel like a modern 5 inch or a tiny whoop drone. Btw love the controller and VR support. Also more sensitivity settings. Like a PID profile so I can practice messing around with PIDs and a larger variable scale on the rates. I get no one is really gonna fly a drone that spins at 10,000 degrees a second but just nice to have ya know? Btw I really love this game. I love how easy the blue tooth local multiplayer racing is. And it works really well. Thank you for your time and this awesome game that is full of even greater potential! :D
colin rountree,
Very Good
This is a very good overall mobile fpv sim it seems better than anything I’ve seen but there are a few problems. I really would like there to be more frequent updates this game has lot of ptential, one of the things that needs updated is multiplayer it just searches forever and never finds my freind. One of them is it’s too smooth compared to a real quad there needs to be some prop wash and other imperfections to make it more realistic, I would also like more detailed rates and setting like pid tunes and other quads to select, I would also like more maps like abandoned buildings and parks and stuff, also instead of paying individually for maps and settings make the whole app cost 4 dollars and give every thing within the app. Overall this is a very good game and I would recommend to anyone. This needs a lot more frequent updates the last one was almost a year ago.
Jesse Danberger,
Great game. Heres suggestions.
This game is great. It’s practically the only fpv game on the App Store and there isn’t any on Xbox so it’s nice to be able to mess around with a drone that you can use ACRO mode on and have fun with right here on my phone. Being that people want this game right here they should put some more time developing this game they should add new maps, better graphics possibly (this isn’t needed it would be cool tho even tho the graphics are fine.), customizable fpv drones (interchangeable parts, different levels of motors, batteries etc.), camera feedback where the screen isn’t perfect. Ways to record from an external camera to make clips of the flight, and better training for new ACRO users. Overall the level this game is at it is great but if it were better more people would be getting it due to the lack of fpv games out there.
the green person,
Pretty good but it is missing a few things
Don’t get me wrong this game is amazing accept when you go full throttle the quad pitches back or forward you can fix this but it takes a lot of messing around in the throttle rates and center but also there needs to be a air mode because if you go zero throttle the quad will just flop around but you can fix this the same way you fix the throttle issue but then you have so much idle that you can’t do floaty moves like a wall ride or a dive but you wouldn’t have that if there was air mode and you should have be able to pid tune because if you add more pitch d than you wouldn’t have the throttle issue and so if you add air mode and pid tuning this game would be perfect there should also be more open maps where you can building dive and explore other than that the game is really good and I hope you take this review into consideration thank you for your time and have a nice day.
draco cuh,
Great game, some advice...
I have almost mastered FPV with the paid full version you can acquire ACRO mode. This game is a lot of fun and and this is what you need to add. First of all I think that you should make a much bigger map to fly fpv around. There should be lots of obstinate more that stadium. This should also be included with the already bought maps. Secondly i think there sound be different drones. For example, a mini drone like a micro drone then maybe a beginner drone not a lot of power then a drone like the one that is currently in the game and then a bigger drone more stability with no throttle and more hang time. These are just a few this of many I could think of, out of many. Please see this comment and keep making improvements i live this game and i play it almost every day i just wanna see some new updates.
lilwooperRC,
It’s decent and hope it gets better
Over all the game is good but I still had its issues I want this game to progressively get worked on because I feel it could be great , there needs to me more courses and then there also needs to be an open arena with no challenges just free play for acro with a good course , the sensitivity on the throttle can be weird when going to high powers , and I feel you should be able to pick your style of quad , far as micro like a tiny whoop or more like a 5 inch or so racing quad , so you can get the feel for the different size through obstacles, the acro needs a bit of work as well because it can get a little wonky sometimes and hard to control vs the real thing , but overall I would so it’s decent but can have some good improvements made , now I bought the two in app purchases for this game to get the full experience, don’t let me down
betoinbeta,
Noob Drone flyers must get this app
I just picked up a Tiny Whoop drone for indoor flying. I’m totally new to this new world of drone flying. Looking to improve I found this app for my iPhone. The basic skills mode was a bit challenging, albeit in a good way. But the good news is that I am noticing an improvement in my real drone flights. Is till have a long way to go kind you since I’m slow to pick things up but I can tell that this is simulator is going to help me tremendously.

Some subtle critique... I wish the app had a layout option for my iPhone X. I wish the sounds of the drone were a little more realistic so I can “feel” the sound a bit better.

Wish list: If there was a way to improve the controls with a paired Bluetooth controller so you could get a more realistic Gimbal hand eye coordination that would be amazing.
