Drakmanka,
Best Mobile Dungeon Crawler I've Ever Played
I never write reviews, but this game is so fantastic I simply had to give it one. I have never been so engrossed in a mobile game before - ever.
The controls are simple and streamlined; I had a little trouble with the touchscreen aspect of them but they are still some of the best touchscreen controls I've seen for a game.
The gameplay is super satisfying. Each level is short and sweet, but very engaging and well-crafted. Not a single dud among them!
The story, which I was not expecting to be anything more than an excuse for a dungeon crawl, was very engaging! I felt connected to these characters and became emotionally involved.
The art style is great. Simple, functional, and mood-setting. It also does a great job of evoking classic dungeon crawler games of yore.
I highly recommend playing with sound on! Sound effects are great, and though minimal the voice acting is extremely well-done.
Not too hard, not too easy gameplay. Every level is, at its heart, a puzzle to be solved. No life counters, no timers, just you and a puzzle. Hints are available but they are 100% optional.

Ads aren't too bad, either. Ads only play as you move between levels, they never pop up right in the middle of a level. I did pay to remove ads, but mostly because I wanted to support the awesome developers!
u are reading this,
Good game
This game is nice, simple enough to understand, the puzzles are intuitive and teaming with ingenuity. But sometimes the movement aren’t precise as you want it to be. And you can mess up a lot of scenarios by just open up the menu in a middle of one. Few examples are when an elder was pursuing me in the dungeon, if I pause before he killed the ogre he’d be dead since the ogre is out of beat with him and is able to evade the attacks; or the puzzle with the fast goblin, and 3 fire traps that needed you to kite the goblins into tanking the fire balls for you, if I pause to take time to think he would be dead because the menu only freezes enemies traps can still work so he’d just get killed by one of the traps. The complaints are minor issues but it does help to have the game ironed out a bit more.
Guiguigou,
This game is like no one else, fantastic
I’ve played lot of games. This one is truly unique, original and well done from the first floor to the last. The puzzles are each different, with just enough common patterns to build up towards the grand final. Some are definitively complex, which makes the game only better.
The creators took no shortcuts in building this game. For instance the animation through the floors when resuming the game is gorgeous. Definitively not necessary but it shows real craftsmanship.
My only complaint is towards the movement controls. They don’t work perfectly, which is annoying in floors where each move has to be made right quickly. Hopefully something that can be improved.
Best $2 I’ve spent on the App Store.
thirdmike,
An incredible, actually complete experience
What a great game. I picked it up a few days ago and unlike most mobile games I just kept wanting to get back to it. Dreadrock is clearly lovingly crafted, with each level’s puzzle using the mechanics in new and interesting ways. Some levels felt more like an action game, requiring practice to nail the timing, others were clever puzzles, and many were emotionally affecting or funny! What a cool, well-rounded experience this was. I haven’t so satisfied beating a game in a while, and the fact that this game has a full story with an ending makes it an absolute marvel among the mobile game crowd.

I look forward to whatever else this developer makes. Bravo Christoph and team!
MRMmusick,
This one is going into the hall of famers of mobile games
I personally don’t play many games for mobile due to complex hard to tap right controls, but this game controls are easy, the gameplay is fun and story is simple, but entertaining.

Easily comparable with a Zelda title from the days of the Super Nintendo era (though far simpler game mechanics). A game easy to play and love from beginning to end. I did finish it and played it constantly and I never play mobile games because they never entertaining to me.

Love the difficulty and even more the tips/clues/hints which help a lot as to not to get stuck in the game. Wish old Nintendo games had had such hints.

I am definitely not payed to say this nor I work for the game developing team. I wish I was payed though… LOL. I did buy the game and I almost certainly never buy any game, but this one got me and for the price I can’t complain. $1.99 which is pretty fair even more taking in consideration nowaday’s console and mobile game prices.

Hope this review helps.
Keep on playing… find me on social media as MRMmusick in case you wanna stop by and say hi.
More Synths,
D of D Is a Wonderful Game!
Dungeons of Dreadrock is a strange and wonderful mix of dungeon crawler, puzzle game, and platformer. It is very well written, and an absolute steal at $1.99. The storyline is fun and engaging, and the graphics and sound are marvelous. The puzzles get harder as the 100 levels of the game progress, however progressive hints are available (with the number of hints depending on the level you’re on). My only complaint is that the controls can be hard to get used to, whether you use swiping or the D-Pad. I think an external controller, which the game supports, might really help with that! Nevertheless, I’m giving it 5 stars as one of the best games I’ve played on the App Store. Download it now!
dmixdoza,
Unexpected great game to play
This game took me by surprise. I didnt expect to get into this game and i found myself playing it till finally finishing the 100th level. I liked the quick levels and there was a bit of frustrating moments in trying to finsh up some of the levels. Fortunately, the hints that were provided helped guide to completion. My only suggestion for improvement is update the controls, like a virtual joystick , because the controls often dont respond as expected. Regardless of the controls issue, this game deserves 5 stars. Hope to see if there will be a part 2 or if developer has another game in the works.
Andy4697543,
Can’t recommend this enough! Buy it!
I don’t purchase many games and I write even fewer reviews but I have to stop here and tell everyone how great this game is. Everything about it, the 16-bit character and level design, the sound effects and voice overs, the humor and story… all of it has been crafted with care to bring you along on a really unique retro style experience. I am only part way through the levels but they have been very clever so far with a good amount of challenge. I would recommend that everyone pays the buck or so to support this developer, I can’t wait to see more!
BigSexyBubba,
So much potential, such poor execution
It’s a fun little game for about 9 levels, then the ads start. Incessant ads between EVERY level. And the poor part is, you go back and forth between levels quite a bit, so it becomes 15 seconds of game play and one minute of ads. Boo to the developers.

But, even paying the $1.99 to go ads free doesn’t solve the biggest issue… basic navigation. It’s HORRIBLE! Other characters move twice as fast (or faster) while you plunk along at one block at a time. Even holding the direction doesn’t help with the movement issue. Then there is the issue of facing the right way to complete tasks. There is no control and you randomly turn every which way, usually resulting in failing a level and starting over. Even using the direction pad is clunky and presents a worse game experience. The precision required on certain levels justifies a smoother direction control.

The puzzles are fun but often times frustrating (see the issue with ads above).

Bottom line, get rid of the constant ads and fix the direction control and this would go from an OK game to a GREAT game.
Hmm...Interesting...,
Worth way more than $1.99. Please add a contribute option!
Wow this game is a hit of nostalgia. Fun puzzle solving and a witty story line. I also really like our dungeon hero is a female. It is nice to see more female leads which makes me wonder if the developer is a girl also but anyway I am at level 50 ish right now and the puzzles are very nice brain teaser and don’t feel redundant. Might I add it is an actually full fledge game and that is rare for the mobile apps. Thank you for bringing the fun back to the Appstore and don’t stop making games. I am learning coding and hope to make my own game some day so this is a major inspiration. Thanks 🙏
