Description

EōN is a new relationship to "recorded" music as we have always known it by immersing the listener in an endless sound (and visual) experience, like an album whose duration would have no fixed limit.

EōN produces an infinite music, in constant evolution, abundant in variations, composed by electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre, accompanied by a constant progression of organic visual elements.

Once the EōN app is activated, you will listen and watch a new unlimited music experience constantly unfold, designed to be absolutely unique for each listener, always different each time the app is launched.

You can enjoy a different journey everytime, listening as many times and as long as you want, the only limit being your device’s battery!

In addition, once downloaded, EōN is fully autonomous requiring no internet connection. Thus it is possible to launch the app anywhere and at any time.

JEAN-MICHEL JARRE ABOUT EōN:
"-Eon- the name of an ancient Greek God associated with unlimited time and eternity.

I named this project EōN as it symbolizes exactly what it is: an infinite musical and visual creation, which offers to everyone a unique experience, which will never happen again: on each device and each activation of the application EōN, you will hear and see an ever-evolving orchestration of music and visuals. EōN is an endless organic work, never repetitive, that will live and grow indefinitely at your fingertip.

Like in life, every moment lived in EōN will never happen again.

Personally, I truly feel that EōN is probably one of my most exciting creative projects since Oxygene. I always wanted to create a specific music for each listener, able to evolve constantly in terms of rhythms, tones, tempo, melodies and textures. Here it is. EōN is conceived and composed as a different journey for everyone, with no end determined.

I had a clear idea of the organic, living visuals I wanted to accompany my music, and I was very lucky to spend some time in Tokyo at Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. (Sony CSL), where I discovered Alexis André and his singular visual world. Sony CSL with Alexis have conceived and developed an algorithm generating an endless flow of ever-evolving graphics, which, like the music, are infinite and never repeatitive.

The algorithm and audio engine that orchestrates the music of the EōN app have been engineered by Alexis Zbik & Vianney Apreleff from BLEASS after defining the rules of the system together. "

Continues to Improve!
I was hesitant at first to buy a music app that seems on the face to be just an album, but I soon realized that I normally pay about double the price of Eon for a static (non-changing) CD anyway. Since buying and installing this, I have not been disappointed by the ever-evolving mix of beats, washes, samples, and tones that go to make up the swirling landscape of Eon. And while you’ll never mistake this for an actual Jarre composition, all the individual components that go into what you hear retain his unmistakable stylistic stamp.

The library of sounds that go into the mix seems to have grown over time, too, telling me that Jean-Michel himself continues to take an active interest in the musical evolution of this experiment.

The graphics are amazing too, but since I like my battery to be able to make it through a whole day without recharging, I don’t often leave them on.
H O L O M I N D,
Good god this is amazing
I’m just blown away how good this sounds... constantly evolving and morphing. I’ve been listening all day and can’t wait to hear where the next track goes. Jarre has always been cutting edge and this just puts him over the top. One request: When recording the audiovisual on my iPhone, have a fade out volume option so when I share with a friend or on social media, it is more pleasing and the sound doesn’t abruptly end. Looking forward to where you take this technology. Peace.
Oh, I haven’t checked yet, but I hope this is also available on MacBook Pro... and I’m so inspired to start writing more electronic music.

Pipspencer,
Pre-listen review
My Jarre fandom is unbounded. In 1990 I calculated how many times I had listened to Oxygene and Equinoxe. The estimated count exceeded 3000 for each. After that time I discovered new sounds, new patterns buried Beneath the familiar ones that I’d never heard before. Familiarity unlocked my ability to hear more and more. That was 30 years ago...my point is that Jarres’ musical creativity is endlessly listenable. So I write my review before my personal musical journey begins with Eon in keeping with the eternal theme of this musically creative “first”. My certainty of a 5 star review and a 5 star musical experience is as concrete as the heavens above...
Hondof1,
Compelling musical journey
This is an interesting little app. The music it produces would never be confused with actual songs and I sometimes feel like it is always heading somewhere but never quite arrives. Having said that, it is nonetheless oddly compelling. The music works well as background noise, but it can also pull you in for minutes at a time with its constantly shifting palette.

I continue to be fascinated. Worth the money and worth it to support an icon like Jean Michel Jarre.

Great relaxation & sleep app
Found EōN recently after reading a post from JMJ about it. Never news it existed.

Have been listening to the audio last few days and nights. Found the best results for me was wearing Aftershockz Aeropex bone-conducting headphones.
Even at night wearing a CPAP I slip the Aeropex on and listen to EōN through the night, sleeping peacefully. No longer have the urge to check the iPhone through the night either.

At the computer I lay this EōN app through a JBL Charge 4 speaker setting on top of the curtain rods for a more spatial effect that I can hear above me and helps me to relax. Even have nodded off in the chair a few times.

Am recovering from Covid Pneumonia’s aftermath and this app helps me to relax and clear my mind from the daily recovery madness.

Good on ya, JMJ. And thank you for this wonderful app!
ZUrlocker,
Terrific electronic music app
The EON app by BLEASS and Jean Michel Jarre is terrific. I listen to it almost daily and it is creative, energizing electronic music. Not the boring ambient music of typical generative music by Eno for airports. If you like JMJ you will love it. Very rarely do I notice any repetition even after 100s of hours of listening. The new version adds some new granular synth sounds and that makes it even more unique. Expensive but worth it!
westred,
Awesomely created audio/visual experience worth every cent👍🏼
I’ve been following and listening to JMJ for decades, ever since he released his first masterpiece Oxygene. He has become the most popular & most honored New Age artist of our time. This collaboration with Sony Labs is a marriage waiting to happen. Very enjoyable to watch and/or listen to for extended times. Worth the buy👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ekholbrook,
Jarre but without chord shift
Sounds like equinox and oxygen but without the variation in tone. This generates incredibly interesting tunes for about 30 seconds at which point you are waiting for a shift/transpose in the tone. A minute in with the same droning chord or note pattern you now begin to want to pull your hair out. So you hit refresh for something new. If there was more transposition in the generation you could put this on the speaker and listen all day. Right now you can’’t take it for more than a minute as it’s still more Kraftwerk than Jarre.

Heroically creative
Outstanding, for those who want to be totally passive. Would benefit from minimal control of volume, playback speed, visual on/off, and the ability to run two instances! Many times the tempo does not fit the moment so you either have to turn it off or endure. Fantastic as a music and idea generator, beautiful, inspiring, intense, and adventurous!

I would also like the programming to be in separate app where we could load our own pieces into it...drool for days! Well done BLEASS
More substance, please,
Great background music
Very cool concept. It feels a lot like a Jarre album. Most of the time, it creates nice grooves and occasionally you get some amazing moments. That's rare, though. The algorithms spin up some great moods but it lacks JMJ's genius for filling all the spaces in the music with great ideas. Recommended at the price, though. You never hear the same thing twice.
