My opinion
I personally love this app because I love how you can have a challenge but also learning something is very challenging. However, it is very educational and I’m actually running thinks it’s not too hard to the point where I’m confused stuck but it is a little challenging to wear my brain has the process what is going on I love this app and I read it five out of five because it is amazing. It’s always amazing and keep up the good work because it truly is amazing and I’m glad I have an app like this because I really am interested in learning Korean and this app helps me learn the writing style. I’ve learned a lot so far in just a little time and although I haven’t made much progress, I still do love this app there is one issue though which is the point that when I try to go onto a new lesson I can’t, and end up running out of my lesson for the day because I end up retaking the one from yesterday if you could show me how to fix this then everything would be all right and I would give this a five out of five again thank you❤️

Absolutely worth $70 USD (a textbook costs just as much)
I’ve been trying to learn Korean since 2007. I’ve tried to keep all my expenses low, buying from discount bookstores and receiving free books from my in-laws. Setting out books every day was hard, so I did a little better with LingoDeer and Drops, but my efforts still weren’t consistent despite myself.
It was different with Eggbun. I couldn’t wait for more lessons to be unlocked. The free version gave me a taste of what was waiting for me behind the paywall: I can pick up my phone at any time to learn a short lesson with Lanny. I’m not sure why, but learning via a chatbot just makes it so much easier to continually learn.
I can put in a small effort at any time. If I’m interrupted and can’t finish a short lesson, restarting it doesn’t feel like a detriment. It’s been 16 days since I’ve unlocked the full subscription and I’ve used Eggbun almost every day. Even when I miss a day, it isn’t hard to pick the app up again.
My only critique would be that the audio is sporadic. Sometimes it will sound when I type a sentence (which I appreciate). Sometimes not. Listening to the native speaker repeat back what I typed is incredibly useful, so if this could be the next debug, I’d greatly appreciate it.

This app is amazing! I love how it doesn’t just teach the language, but aspects of their culture and history. I also love how interactive it is, but there is one major flaw.
The prices! I am one of the people who love apps where buying things isn’t necessary and it is easy to pay for if not able to be free. I saw the in-app purchases sign and looked what they were and I thought I could get by without them. As it turns out, i was terribly wrong. You need to buy the subscription to get a full learning experience, but as of right now my family is in a tight spot and can’t afford it. As of right now we are sheltered in place thanks to the pandemic known as covid-19 and I was looking for a way to spend my time learning. I know there are free alternatives out there, but those don’t help me as much as these do. It would be AMAZING if the purchase was something like you pay 20$ for all access and maybe the occasional ad. But as of right now, I suggest not getting this ad unless you are prepared to spend quite a lot of money. Thank you for reading this and I hope this helps.

Just a suggestion (please!)
I love this app, it felt like I was fluent in the language.. even though I wasn’t- but still it’s a lot of fun and I feel like I can learn a lot better with this app. This app is very throughout and detailed, which I love. This is also really great for learning about the culture and things like that- I wish other apps did the same thing. This app is great— although that’s not what I’m here to talk about. The why this app is built and they it teaches you is really fascinating to me, and I hope that you guys will have a lot more language app like this- if that is an option, then I REALLY HOPE that you guys can do Thai language and everything about the culture and things like that— cause if you guys were to do that, then I’d be the first one to download it and be fluent by tomorrow! I hope you guys can at least think about this suggestion, but nonetheless- I love Eggbun and all of the apps it has..

The wave of the future in language learning
I had made fitful starts for the past two years to learn Korean. I am working full time and going to a university part time, so I’m very busy. Therefore I needed to have bite-sized lessons. Outside of a classroom, textbooks give good information, but there’s no good feedback, so I wanted something that was interactive. I had tried personal tutors but their schedule was hard to match with mine since they lived half a world away. So I wanted real-time interaction at any time of the day I had some free time. Eggbun has fulfilled all of these requirements with its “Lenny” AI. I’m very pleased so far and hope to study regularly enough to sit for the TOPIK test next year!

This is so far a really good way to learn Korean....
I love it so much my only problem is I don’t want to be waiting over 24 hours just to get an another lesson and I am only 15 there is no jobs hiring 15 year olds so I don’t have money to be able to buy the premium😢....(sadly)
But I’m still able to learn without paying but I have to wait and it’s over 24 hours I go back to check if there is another lesson waiting for me but when I go to check it for some reason it keeps logging me out where I have to go sign back in and when I sign in with google r my email it says error and it also says sign in with Facebook.....I don’t have Facebook so that’s out of the question but it keeps logging me out and keeps saying error when I try logging back in.... it literally take about 20 minutes of trying to figure out what the heck is wrong but by the time I get into the app...finally...
I think to myself that there should be a lesson open for me...nope....nothing....I wasted 20 minutes of my time thinking there was another lesson....it took 20 minutes of my time for nothing....
Then it happens all over again and just sometimes it has a lesson waiting for me....
This is a great app I learned so much so far that I never knew about but please check out why this is happening I would be so great-full if I could learn this language in peace....

Edit: I've read a review that says it may take some time for the 1 month subscription to go through, so I figured I should change the review until I really know for sure. Though now, when I go into the profile tab, the app crashes and closes. I'm not really sure why it is doing that so suddenly, aha. Again, that would be the only downside at the moment.
I really really like this app, but until I am able to fix this problem I can't give it more than one star. I LOVE the way this app goes about teaching, but when I went to subscribe for one month of premium it kinda ruined it for me. The payment went through, but it isn't letting me proceed with any of the lessons. I sent them a message through their feedback tab on the app, and I am awaiting a response. Other than this one problem, I would absolutely recommend this app to anyone trying to learn the languages they provide.

My honest thoughts
It was fun and cool at the start. I was struggling to learn and this helped me. I will keep this short but the overall app was great. It is almost like a pay-to-play app. I only use the free version so I don’t know anything about the subscription stuff. The only thing that concerns me is the automated messages. You only get to type in korean. And when you don’t, the messages are automated. I didn’t get it (the verb stem things) on my first try and it told me to move on. And I had no say in it. They also use emojis or emoticons such as ❤️🥰😍😘. I picked other replies if possible. They creep me out. It might mean showing love but it’s just weird. I would not recommend this for younger kids. But if you read this and still downloaded the app, best of luck!

I have a question!
First of all, I want to express how impressed I am with Eggbun! Even though with my current circumstances, I can’t afford premium, the free lessons have taught me more in five minutes than I retained in two months before Eggbun. The interactive chat box/Lanny is the best approach I’ve found so far to help me learn, and makes me feel confident in what I’m learning.
Because these lessons are so awesome, I was excited to see that a new free lesson would unlock every 24 hours—but I must have misunderstood what it said in that app. Can you please clarify what it means when it says “next free lesson available in 24 hours,” and how I can access a new free lessons everyday? Thank you so much!

It was good app but very inflexible and limited. Premium content not worth the money
I wrote to Eggbun about not getting any new lessons for premium subscription. So far i was told that they were too busy to do so.
I really thought I would get a new lesson (even if it’s a short one) every week. That’s why I went ahead and did an annual subscription. It was a mistake. Now I just canceled the subscription. Can I get a pro-rated refund?
Some lessons are good. But it’s all about memorization. It doesn’t explain any grammar.
I also don’t understand why some lessons can have a 600% progress.
What also upsets me was that recently they are doing a promotion of giving out a free ebook of the lessons if you sign up for the premium. I signed up about two weeks prior to promotion and got nothing. Remind you that I got the annual not a monthly one.
Anyway, I’ll rather stick with Duolingo as it’s free. And just like eggbun, it doesn’t roll out new lessons. So why would anyone want to pay for it? I don’t care about cultural notes and word race. Word quiz is pathetic cuz the quiz is short and you have to start it again and again.
Please give me my money back. I’d appreciate that.
