EpicWin is an iPhone app that puts the adventure back into your life. It’s a streamlined to-do list, to quickly note down all your everyday tasks, but with a role-playing spin. So rather than just ticking off your chores and reminders, completing each one earns you XP to improve and develop your character in an ongoing quest to improve stats, gain riches, and level-up.

By getting points for your chores it's easier to actually get things done. We all have good intentions but we need a bit of encouragement here and there. Doing the laundry is an epic feat of stamina so why not get stamina points for it?!
The to-do list is fully-featured and supports repeating tasks, displays reminders for overdue events and allows time-critical events to be assigned to specific days, while more aspirational quests can be set to "someday" so you don't lose sight of your goals. And each task completed is destroyed by your avatar, so get your Undead Warrior to beat-up your laundry, or your Treeman to headbutt your overspilling inbox.

Option to back up to online data store!
Fixes and additions to Repeating Tasks. Daily tasks no longer skip a day if they are not done.
Repeating tasks do not repeat immediately if their next due date has not arrived yet - so there is a period of time where they will be "Overdue" so you can complete them before they cycle to their next repeat date!

Would love to see this app make a comeback!
I have been searching for other RPG style to-do list apps recently, and I’ve downloaded a handful of them but none of them hold a candle to what EpicWin was. It was my favorite app for years and years and legitimately kept me on track far more than your boring, sterilized business-like to-do list apps. The art, sound, everything was just so good. But I guess they’ve move on to bigger and better things, because now it’s not usable at all. The whole interface is horribly broken. I just wish they would come back with a refresh and update it for modern phones. Three stars for having loved it in the past, but not being usable in the present. Miss ya, EpicWin!

You could look at this app and be annoyed by the simplicity, limited functionality, the extra added sound effects, the music, but that makes you an instant square. For those of who you DESIRE the abstract, and yearn for the ONE TRUE DESIGN IDEA that delivers exactly what it promises in a truly unique and fun way, EPIC WIN IS AN EPIC WIN.
I’ve tried many of these apps, but this is the only one that has actually gotten me motivated and ready for adventure. It feels slightly like your life has been thrown into a video game, and as long as you complete your quests, you can make headway on your journey, unlocking all sorts of special gifts along the way.

I miss this app
Update: It’s 2020 now and we’re in the midst of a global pandemic. Since its developer stopped updating Epic Win, I’ve had to move on and use other To Do-type apps. It’s been years now and I still miss Epic Win. No other app has come close to bringing me as much joy in completely mundane — and epic — tasks.
Original review: I have been using EpicWin for five years now -- that's longer than my current relationship! While the app has its quirks and sometimes there are bugs, I am always impressed with the original "prizes" and I really love beating up my To Do list. I would pay for this app again if it meant ensuring continued maintenance. I cherish EpicWin. It makes me happy.

I wish there was more to it
I really like the idea of this app, and for what it is, it seems pretty cool. However, I get more use out of another app I use for to-dos because there are better rewards. I feel like leveling up a character that doesn't do anything is pointless. It would be cooler to me if the map lead me to short puzzle games alternated with loot. That would motivate me to try to get there. I may continue to use this app, but I find myself quickly jotting notes down on my other to-do app instead. I have ADHD so I really need the motivation! I love the improvements that have been made for this app, but I just feel like it's lacking a little excitement with what to do with loot or to actually perform a quest.

Once a decent app
I finally filled a quest I’d waited on for years to fill, and while it may have been an i5 or something I want my 3k XP! Haha. Seriously though this app is broken and only gets two stars from nostalgia, if it’s still a paid app it should be removed since it is literally unusable. The UI is completely broken, makes little sense and impossible to get two/three screens deep before reaching a series of boxes with no labeling/etc.

So, my friend convinced me to restart playing Pokémon Go. And I was hooked. XP grinding. Knocking over grandmas for Magikarp. And it happened immediately.
How can I use this tendency for good? I had tried Habitica before but it didn't stick. Although there are some features, I wish I could carry over to Epic Win. Doesn't matter because EW beauty is the simplicity, engaging graphics, endorphin pumping sound effects and visuals when you score, and you get points that you weight with a road map of how far you've gone. Of course you're teased with needing to level up. And you have 5 types of xp.

Less is more
I have ADHD, and I’ve found this one to be better than the other todo list & gamification app that most people use. All those advanced features and different types of rewards the other app has are distracting, and aren’t at all interesting - if I wanted to play an actual game, I’d play an actual game.
This app has much better sound and graphics which are all I need to feel rewarded. I don’t care much for collectibles but they are a nice addition. The only suggestion I have is maybe make the reward system procedurally generated, so it works forever.

App not supported since 2015
They stopped updating the app since 2015 if you check their site. DO NOT BUY/DOWNLOAD IT. It’s garbage and doesn’t work since it hasn’t been supported since 2015.
It’s not even that the tasks won’t work it’s that none of the buttons line up anymore so you have to press all over the screen to finally find where the actual button is. It only shows 1/4 of the character because it just glitches out. I couldn’t even get 1 task added. It has a great concept but they aren’t supporting it anymore so it doesn’t work. They are just scamming people to keep it in the App Store.
If you look at the privacy policy you’ll see it’s says it’s “in the owners trash” and the only positive reviews are people that used it years ago when it was supported.

Great, But Please…/ Hot Garbage
Please add more loot. I’m not asking for an entire rework, but it’s a shame the developers haven’t updated this app in a long time. It’s such a great and simple concept but it’s an amazing app to get things done.
Doesn’t even work anymore. Had this app for like 6 years and now it’s unusable. The whole screen is screwed up and you can’t even see what buttons you’re pressing on. Even if you tried it’d be near impossible to use. Sad this app with such potential has just wasted away to nothing. Definitely don’t buy

iPhone mistakes
I do love this app, really. I used it in my galaxy for over a year before I had to switch to iOS. The second I tried to use the same app on this phone, it was a mess. Text boxes don’t line up where they need to, task lists overlap so you can’t tap rosary’s order read full tasks. It’s very poorly fitted over and makes it unusable. I hope this issue one day improves, till then I’m back to paper.
