EV QuickSmart Mobile Hack 2.4.3 + Redeem Codes

Love the 50ms, been using a pair of them a for a rock trio in both indoor and outdoor venues. The following are requests based on real world experience with this system over the last year. The App is so close to being perfect but it really needs just a bit more to make a pro unit.

Please consider the following when developing the next app release.

1. Ipad wont allow naming of channels:
Brand new ipad air and most recent EV app. i can not rename channels. (No ios keyboard appears when i click Rename.) However my iphone WILL let me rename them BUT... even when I store the session and switch back to the iPad, none of the channel names remain when I recall the session. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!

2. EQ is lacking:
NEED PARAMETRIC EQ on each channel - 3 band doesn't get it for drums or acoustic instruments. (At least Para on the main and aux would be a decent compromise)

3. NEEDS PRE FADER:
Must be able to send signal to aux without main vol.

4. FX to AUX
Please allow channel effects send to aux as well as main.

5. 2nd AUX SEND.
When using smart link, why cant you have the second aux output on the second unit be a real 2nd aux, independent of aux 1?

Please keep updating and improving this great mixing app. Regardless of it current shortfalls its still amazing!

This app is a good starting point, but it’s not fully-baked. When used to control the Evolve 30M, which is marketed as one of your top new products, there are numerous basic features missing, including some that are visible on the PA amp/mixer panel interface itself, such as the levels for each channel. Also, connectivity when the app is minimized is poor and I often find myself searching for and reconnecting to the speaker after switching apps. Please take some time in the next app iteration and Evolve 30M firmware update to provide more digital mixer basics/controls, your current customers will appreciate it and potential future customers will know that Electro-Voice is committed to its products and their long-term use.

I have the ev200s. It has 2 inputs plus the aux input. It would be great if this app allowed individual control (vol, eq) for each input. So if I had a mic in Input 1 and music in either the aux or Input 2 , I could mix them from the app. This app only allows vol and eq for the speaker itself. When could you add these features into this app?

I originally gave this app a bad review because it would not pair. I finally figured out the problem. To pair successfully I restarted my phone, I went to settings and “forgot” the device. Then I pushed the pair button on the unit itself, went back to settings and clicked on the EV selection. I went back to the app and clicked on the pair spot and it worked. Now I can skip most of those steps if I simply push the pair button on the device before accessing the app. Then it pairs nicely. After I found how to adjust each individual input, I am a happy customer.

I know this is a new feature/app, and I’m sure it’s a work in progress, but it needs some serious improvement. If you update anything at all, it must have a decibel number readout for the volume sliders and the ability to link pairs of speakers together within a complete setup, so you can adjust subs and tops separately. Also, the app is very easily confused and often doesn’t control the whole system volume consistently. Lastly, if you walk out of range, it “forgets” your settings and has no idea where you left the levels. Also, the peak warning doesn’t work for me unless I have the app open. Long story short, it’s okay dialing in the system at the start of the night...that’s it.

Great idea in theory, but there is nothing preventing anyone who has the App from connecting and controlling your speakers.

The only prevention that I can see is that only one session at a time is allowed. If you quit the app or it backgrounds, then someone else can discover your setup and control it thereby locking you out.

Best to turn the control feature off until they update their products with something that allows pairing for the Control portion of the app. My Evolve 50’s do have pairing but only on the Audio streaming side.

I have a 30 m. Would love if it had a more complex eq section with a frequency analyzer. They could take a page from the behringer x air app. Also individual gain control on each channel would be a no brainer.

What would make it 5 stars for me is being able to label inputs. Maybe you can I just haven’t figured it out yet. I must have increased the wrong input 5 times on a live set which in turn gave some nasty feedback from a super hot condenser. I could not remember which input was the condenser.

This app gives me enough of the bells and whistles that I need to do a professional level wedding ceremony.
A few things could be better…
- app connection is really slow even if device is already connected to the speaker via Bluetooth
- EQs are super useful and greatly appreciated, but really needs a live update to proactively adjust for feedback.

Great app could be better with a few updates.

App doesn’t connect via Bluetooth. Every time I try, it recognizes the device but when trying to pair it instantly fails every time. I’ve tried this from an iPhone and iPad with the same results. From the other reviews, looks like the app needs a lot more work anyways…
