Emmi-bird55,
Great option!!!!
There are SOOO many different period/cycle tracking apps on the app store, it can be overwhelming to figure out how to choose between them. Unlike most of the other apps on this store, the FEMM app is backed by research AND endorsed by many physicians. The app is completely free, easy to use, has a good variety of options for tracking categories, and has an aesthetically pleasing cute design that isnt too overwhelming. I have been using this app for a while and I absolutely love it! I cannot recommend this app enough for anyone looking for an easy to use app to track their cycles&symptoms. This is particularly helpful if youre tracking for health reasons, youre TTC, or you are practicing a FAM or NFP method, but it isn’t necessary. The app is tailored to work well with the FEMM method but also can be applied to most other methods such as Symptothermal, Billings, Creighton, Marquette, Boston Cross Check, and more. Also I haven’t personally used this specific feature but the app currently supports multiple other languages which may be useful if English is not your first language
ElizabethS84,
Very helpful tool
This app is a very helpful tool. I just started using it to track my periods and I like all of the information it lets you input so you get an accurate picture of what’s going on in your body. This way, you can notice patterns with your cycles. Very cool! I think this app would be beneficial to those like me with a history of reproductive health problems, since it helps you keep daily records that you can go over with your doctor. As for those negative remarks about this app being anti-science, that is simply not true. It is very scientific to have a solid knowledge of what’s going on in your body. This app helps with that. To those interested in this app, I’d say keep an open mind and don’t let the anti-Catholic, bigoted comments dissuade you. To those posting the nasty comments, you are free to not use this app. That is your choice. But please do not try to take alway the options and choices of other women like me who like this sort of app. You are all about choice, right?
Gingerbread1125,
This App is AMAZING!
Using this app to help track my NFP observations in a more systemized, organized way. Let me tell you: it is super easy to use, and it offers analysis of how you’re doing. As with any app, you know your body best, but seeing the trends/things to be aware of is soooo helpful, as is a comprehensive place to document what you’re seeing. It’s helped me be more aware of my own body and fertility, and I feel good supporting this company because of their commitment to helping ALL women, born and unborn, to embrace our feminine genius without poisoning our bodies with hormones and chemicals that have lasting and real negative consequences. Ignore the vitriol of the anti-life, pro-abortion zealots who downloaded this app JUST to leave a negative review. They are so rabid in their desire to protect their sacrament of abortion that they close their hearts to an app which truly IS empowering women to know our bodies better and work with, not against, our natural cycles. Bravo, FEMM! Keep fighting the good fight!

Informative Charting App
I’ve been using this app and the FEMM protocol for years now. The app itself has a beautiful, easy to use interface. The app keeps reproductive knowledge fresh in your mind through scientific facts shared when you chart.
The only “take with a grain of salt” piece of advice I have to share is that the app will tell you a peak day according to your charting and the protocol. For women in unique charting situations especially, that peak day might not be accurate. However, this is why we only use the app to keep track of data and not to tell us when we are fertile/infertile.
Knowledge is power, and the FEMM app and protocol is creating powerful women around the world by handing them the tools they need to understand their fertility and their health.
I will continue to support this app, the protocol, and this organization as they move forward on an amazing mission.

Knowledge is power
I’ve used the FEMM app for 5 years, first as a single woman and now as a wife and mother. It gets better with each update! It’s easy to use and lovely to look at.

After tracking my cycle for so many years the knowledge I have of my body is second nature. I see the signs and know almost exactly where I am in my cycle and if I’m fertile or not. And having a history of my cycles all these years is invaluable. I used this app and my gained knowledge to conceive my first child. With my charting I was able to accurately predict her due date before seeing a doctor! Also, it was great to have the pattern of my cycles before pregnancy so that when my cycle returned later after birth, I could see if it was back to my normal or not.

I highly recommend this app for any woman who’d like to understand her body better, and therefore have better control of her health. My OB/GYN is always impressed when I come to her and can educate her about my own body and not vice versa.
rickysbestfriend,
BBT doesn’t matter
First of all, I am so happy to have found a charting app that doesn’t charge a monthly fee. However, you can’t rely on what it says when it tells you your “safe days”. If I did that, I would never have a safe day. It always thinks I’m about to ovulate. You can enter in all kinds of stuff (BBT, symptoms, lh tests etc.) but at the end of the day the only factor it looks at to determine ovulation is CM. I have a hormonal imbalance due to breastfeeding so my CM is confusing. For this reason, I rely heavily on BBT. I know what day I ovulated. I had peak mucus that day and the day before, peak lh the day before, a dry day the day after and a distinct rise in BBT that lasted the rest of the cycle, but because I had CM a few days later it didn’t think I’d ovulated yet. I can’t even find a way to manually mark my ovulation day. The bottom line is that it’s a free, simple-to-use app that allows you to track anything you need it to, but you really have to know what you’re doing.
SKirtonBear2,
Well done app
I switched to this app after several years of using another and after trying out quite a few other apps. FEMM is easy to use and works even for my young daughters who don’t need to track everything, yet. Customizable tracking!

My only reason for one less star is that FEMM isn’t integrated with Apple’s Health app. Otherwise, I am grateful for all that it does and the choices it offers. Being able to Note extra observations helps as a cycle goes into a new phase, like perimenopause or menopause, or helps one distinguish an hormonal imbalance that could indicate endometriosis or ovarian cysts. The FEMM education area even gives tips to help a newbie make accurate observations so that the data she enters is useful. The charts are great; already learned new things about my cycle’s recent changes which I can share with my doctor.

Notifications arrive discreetly on both my phone & Apple Watch: reminders to enter today’s data.

Highly Recommended.
Avoiding pregnancy, attempting to get pregnant, taking a birth control pill, using the Natural Family Planning Method, or tracking your cycle for awareness or health issues—use this app.

Pretty good
Using this app has (so far) been much better than other methods of charting. I’d appreciate it if it were a little more inclusive (not quite as distinctly “feminine”) though my ob/gyn is grateful for the amount of info about my cycle and hormones. Much less aggressive than the creighton model but still really useful info.

However, the notifications are driving me mad and making me want to delete the app! Having a notification pop up on my Home Screen that blatantly states “yesterday you were cervical mucus: dry” and not having any way to turn it off or change it is very annoying. Could the developers please please adjust this or at least make it something that doesn’t state my cervical mucus, but asks something more vague like “anything to tell FEMM today?” That would be great.
KitKat5411,
Amazing Fertility Tracker
This app provides the ideal format for recording a woman's daily observations concerning her health and fertility. Excellent for assisting a woman in identifying her fertile and infertile rimes of the month.

HOWEVER-- A small glitch in the app that I want to bring to the manufacturer's attention: when under the analysis tab and looking at the data using the graph feature, I am unable to select which cycle to look at. The scroll down/select menu will appear when I click on the currently-viewed cycle, but then the menu becomes unresponsive and any scrolling or selecting I attempt to do affects the graph in the background and not the menu I'm trying to select from.

(Potentially related-- this also sometimes occurs when utilizing the summary feature also under the Analysis tab, but usually closing and reopening the app alleviates this.)
Danice C. Pun,
Tracking my Cycle: Important like Diet and Exercise
I’m a grad student and have been using the FEMM app ever since I learned about it during my undergrad. Tracking my cycle with the FEMM app has helped me to become more attuned to my body. Alongside my cycle, I can log notes about my stress levels, acne breakouts, mood swings, cravings, productivity spurts, etc. During certain times in my cycle, those things are more common. It’s been really enlightening to survey past changes in my body/mood and compare them to what point in my cycle I was in. The app helps me to understand my body, make predictions about my next cycle, and notice when something is off. I track my cycle using the FEMM app for the same reason I exercise and watch my diet — my health!
