• We have made LUT support in preview only available on all hardware that supports Filmic Pro v7.
• At launch we had to limit LUT support to devices with the A13 chipset or newer, but with the release of 7.4.1 all supported hardware can apply LUTs in the preview only.
• The burn in functionality is, however, still only available to A13 chipsets or newer.
— Change Gimbal Responsiveness Speed —
• You can now define how responsiveness the hardware controls on your gimbal are when paired with Filmic Pro.
• This means you can dial in the responsiveness speed to hit the sweet spot for the perfect pull focus.
• Gimbal responsiveness for focus from gimbal hardware is now tied to the Focus Pull-to-Point QAM.
• And the speed of your zoom moves are tied to the Zoom Pull-to-Point QAM.
• This applies to all supported gimbals (DJI OSMO series, and the Zhiyun Smooth Q3/Q4 and Smooth 4/5/5s)

While the iPhone 13 pro series do not actually support true ProRes 60fps at 4K, it can be approximated by using a lower quality chroma subsample scheme (4:2:0 vs 4:2:2). We want to be upfront about how this is actually achieved, so the first time you select a frame rate in ProRes above 30fps, you’ll get an info alert with some information. But despite the inferior chrome subsample scheme required above 30fps in ProRes, we now deliver some eye-watering file sizes perfect for slow motion retiming in post.

Unfortunately you can’t turn it off, but you can switch between two types of tone mapping: Global Tone Mapping (GTM) and Local Tone Mapping (LTM). GTM opportunistically lifts shadows and crompesses highlights to approximate higher dynamic range video. I purchased this app because I had heard many great things about it and I will say that I was very impressed with a lot of the tricks of this app has to offer. However what’s been disappointing me over and over again is it the app has been crashing when using high frame rates, and not even for that long of a period. It will freeze when entering the review portion of the app where I would view the videos I’ve taken. I’ve also had times where I am switching resolutions and the app goes into mirror mode, which I’m sure is not supposed to happen. The image becomes upside down and reversed left to right making it impossible to record until I shut down the app completely and sometimes even have to turn off my phone. I have had the focus and exposure dials randomly start turning on me and I’ve also had exposure settings changed even though I have had them locked in. Overall I’m pretty disappointed because I never had these issues with ProMovie recorder which was only three dollars and I had heard amazing things about this app. These bugs could get taken care of I would be 100% satisfied because there are a lot of great things this app provides but I’m just not there yet. Thanks guys.

Personal use or business, this app WILL benefit you. If you're invested enough in the digital film age, this will prove useful someway, somehow. The cost of cameras and editing software ALONE should convince you to get this app. Live analytics, manual and auto focus, ease of access to change exposure, audio sensitivity control, guides, frame rate options, a company that listens and interacts with the community-- the list goes on, I couldn't be bothered. I WISH the native camera app on smart phones was this intuitive. The fact that I live in a day and age where I can practically have a movie camera in my pocket is astonishing, all for such a generous price (granted you have a phone at all. If you're reading this, I'm left to assume that you do). Buying this will NOT turn you into Christoper Nolan, but the HANDS ON advantages that this app provides you are a no brainer. Quentin Tarantino didn't have a movie maker in his pocket growing up. But YOU can.

Not a good experience for those amateurs that are getting it right now.
I was told by many reputable YouTuber’s for years that Filmic was it and that no other app stood a chance. I did not get it early on because I wanted to develop this passion towards cinematography and videography even more. I also wanted to learn more about filming before investing even a dime. What I truly loved about this app was that it was a one-time purchase business model so when I was ready to move out of Apple’s simple Camera app, that I will just pay one time and if I want certain kits then I would just pay one fee for them.
Instead, you guys decided to switch to a business model for I am sure some good reason or a bad reason such as greed. Nonetheless, you guys should have considered that maybe innovation might be the problem. Maybe if you innovated and told new customers and advertise to them about how beneficial it would be to purchase your app then you would be able to stick with your one-time purchase business model. Instead, you guys decided to switch to a subscription-based business model, and leave. Everyone who has already paid for this service left out and having to pay a subscription. If they want any new features granted, I am not someone who has bought this app yet, but was about to many months ago until I learned about you guys switching to a new business model.

I love this app, I’ve been using it for a while now and it is perfect for what I do. Now with the new update I’m being forced to sign up for a payment plan? I get you need to make your money, but the reason I use my phone is that I am on a tight budget. Charging me $40 one time is fine, but every year? I wish you chose to let those of us who have been loyal customers keep our current plan but I’m sure you have plenty of people who will be willing to pay for this and losing business to one broke guy won’t keep you up at night. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a tiny violin to play while I tell my sad story to Buttons, my imaginary friend. Because unlike you, Buttons cares about my feelings.

The end of this app
Doesn’t matter what new features you guys add. The fact that there’s at least 5 apps that are almost up to par to this one and cost less than what this app cost before this scam subscription model , shows the lack of consumer interest. It’s all greed from every angle, I get the recurrent revenue by making this a Netflix but that’s just the filmic pro name at this point , take adobe as an example , is a reason why there’s massive shifts away to davinci, canva and fcp Ect. And are becoming the go to softwares to do things. This app is made for certain geographic and not everyone films religiously on their phones so they don’t care to just move on to an alternative app. This app didn’t update frequently to justify the sub prices. The only honest reason you guys are still around is because Apple doesn’t decide to give their costumers manual control of their camera and The alternative apps right now are only somewhat lack is 3rd party support like gimbal and accessories capabilities, once they partner with companies like dji , zhiyun and others and offer support is pretty much over for you guys . I give it a year or two at most because some people probably subscribed for a year, by then the alternatives will be caught up and the year subs will see it isn’t worth to keep subscribing once the other catch up by then. Good riddance and good luck. Doom of a champ because of greed

Realizing that every company needs to make money - your app was not cheap (as apps go) So you “update” the app I paid for and 𝒚𝒐𝒖 advertised as being a “one-time-purchase.” Now, thanks to your avarice, I can’t use the app unless I buy a subscription. Shameless exploitation. And yes, I already heard, I can download the legacy version - a version that is not designed to be updated, one for which you plan no support. Had I and countless others (check your reviews here and other review forums) known you were planning this, 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒄𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒖𝒔, 𝒆𝒍𝒔𝒆𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆. Like on “Beast Cam”, or “Moment”, or “Protake.” Bait and switch… and there’s not “thing one” any of us can do about it. It’s too late to dispute the initial purchase from the App Store. Congratulations on finding the perfect way to steal from your customers… in plain sight… without repercussions. If you were smarter, you would have 𝒓𝒆-released this app with a new name. But then you wouldn’t have had a ready made base of people you could try and double sell to… or your coveted “Editor’s Choice” status. I see you Filmic Inc and your parent company Bending Spoons. I feel ripped off.
I DO NOT think it’s ok to have someone buy something from you, just for you to then take it back and charge them a subscription for its use. How is this even legal let alone ok? Technically, they didn’t take it away but you can’t even save your videos that you take with it so pretty much you can’t even use it or what’s the point and using it if you can’t access the footage you recorded unless you have a subscription. It’s like going to Walmart buying some thing and then Walmart coming to your house and taking it unless you pay a subscription monthly for it. Oh, but let’s not forget we took off a dollar for “loyalty” since I bought it already. Please. A lot of people are not only very angry but all feel cheated and ripped off my the filmicPro app development team..,but I can’t speak for others. I can only speak for myself and how I feel on it. Which is also cheated, ripped off, and it’s all together bad business. I went from your biggest supporter and praised you on my channel. Now I’m done with filmic pro. Greed gets the best of everyone

Best app on the market. I got some major ideas for this app. Send me your email. I’ve used many apps and this is flawless. I’m a reggae producer who started video recording. I use a gimbal. Filmic pro. Filmic remote. Mic and light using only my iPhone. The videos are speechless. But I see some ideas that could lock the market. Expand the lens to 6x like the app for my gimbal. Add under community access to sign in a Client to access their camera but record the video into my filmic pro. That way I can record people from around the world in high quality. Make the app access more features on the gimbals. And a story mode like the app for my gimbal. That stitches video together into a movie. I would give you 9000 stars. I compared a few footages from filmic and the iPhone camera. No comparison. Filmic is like having a expensive dslr camera in a iPhone. Ohhh another thing. Add filters in a in app purchase for the lens. Another thing I thought of. Under audio. Add access to iaa apps. Like MicSwap. And we can swap the mic in the video to different mics. And filmic would be Hollywood. Oscar. Etc etc.

Need to get back to V6 with all purchased options INCLUDING DOUBLETAKE
RESOLVED: After the automatic upgrade to V7 I can’t send recently filmed footage for my client. Not to mention using the app without paying for it again. This wasn’t suppose to be an “upgrade” but rather sold as a separate product. I have already paid for the app and my clients paid handsomely for the project they can’t even see.
UPDATE: Ok. This has been resolved after time spent (would filmic be so kind to pay for my time?): downloaded the legacy, moved files from “pro” to “legacy” and finally was able to send them to my frustrated client.
ADDITIONAL PROBLEM: Something else thou - DoubleTake now automatically connects to the “upgraded” Pro V7, not the restored-downgraded-renamed “legacy” V6. Well, I have paid for the DoubleTake and want to be able to use it with restored v6. ⭐️ rating still remains. FINAL THOUGHTS: don't get me wrong - I’m not surprised by the price. Would buy it for this price if it was sold this way originally. What’s wrong - is how the upgrade from v6 to v7 handled. Customers were hit with new payments without any advanced warning plus time and efforts needed for recovering existing footage. V7 is a new app - not an upgrade. Information well in advance would help us make educated choices. Instead we got an offer we can’t resist - mob style

Indie Filmmaker Must Have App!
I’ve been using filmicpro for years (back when the app was $1.99 and iPhone 4’s were all the rage!). I was excited about the idea of iPhone filmmaking then and made a number of projects for the iPhone film festival circuit. Then I stepped away from iPhone filmmaking to focus on other indie films with a variety of camera types (not mobile phone related.). After a few years, I came back to this app and iPhone filmmaking because I love the flexibility of it. I purchased the new $9.99 additional feature with LOG as a setting option and I have to say, I am SO SO pleased to see FilMIC pro has continued to update their app and make iPhone filmmaking more of a legitimate and credible option for the independent filmmaker! The newest features with adjusting the ISO, focus pull, light balance, etc is really awesome! With a few options in lens attachments in addition to this app I really love how versatile it is becoming. It’s still not going to give you the performance of a DSLR or studio level camera, but it is definitely a viable option for filmmakers now! And I love it!
