I passed!!
First of all do not do what I did! I procrastinated and then cram studied for a week! Within the week time frame I downloaded and paid for pocketprep but then it made me download fitness prep and transferred everything I’ve already studied. I must say I’m highly pleased at how well this helped me in the end. I don’t have the best study habits. I waited until the very last minute to study and I was a nervous wreck. (So again don’t procrastinate like I did!) anyway the 800 questions were a life saver. I suggest breaking them up over a months period time or even 2 weeks at max to review these questions. I looked at all of these questions in the span of 4 days. I started off horrible. By today which is the day I tested, I did exceptionally well if I may say so myself. So I went into testing prepared for the type of questions they may ask. Hard work/cram session paid off. Of course every great thing has minor issues. I focused on testing with only new questions. However, within the new set of questions, a lot of questions were the exact same as questions I’ve already answered. I don’t know if there is a reason for this but just thought I’d throw that in there. Anyway, I passed! Thanks!

This app has helped me tremendously!!!! I also had only 4 days to take me test because I found out at the last minute that my test voucher for NASM CPT was going to expire. I read and studied most of the book a few months ago but got distracted and stopped. Well I did the practice test on here and learned my weak areas and studied those areas. Today I took my test and passed on the first try!! This was a big help! Please make sure you give yourself plenty of time to study though because I don’t recommend this method to no one if you don’t have to. And the material on the test is written different so make sure you look at the explanation for each question so you know why it’s the answer and why the other options are not. That’s helps too!

A must have
Using this app everyday is a huge component to passing my exam! I passed yesterday. I got the least expensive self study NASM package. But the domain quizzes were just not enough to gage if I was comprehending the material. This is where Fitness Prep assisted. I cycled through the 800 questions twice. I like that each answer will have a specific detailed explanation, and it will also reference the NASM book with a specific page and chapter. Some of the exam questions were extremely close to fitness prep questions. I highly recommend this app along with listening to Dr. Rick Richey’s podcasts over and over until it finally clicks. That guy has an amazing way of delivering education. You don’t want to stop listening.

Used for NSCA CSCS & Passed
This app is a perfect companion to the textbook and helps you figure out areas you didn’t read as in depth and should revisit.
Pros-
Much needed active learning tool to pair with the textbook. I recommend reading the NSCA’s textbook and using this to keep actively reviewing and figuring out what you need to revisit.
It’s similar to the actual exam. The vocab type review is super helpful and the volume of questions is great for a lot of quick review.
Cons/suggestions:
This app doesn’t have pictures of videos of technique that you need to be able to know and assess for correct form. It also is a bit limited for the more intense exercise physiology questions. I found the actual exam a little less straightforward in that subject, but I think it gives you enough to get the pass.
I think adding more questions about testing results and what areas of improvement need to be seen would help solidify the testing and ongoing evaluation topics a little better because that can be challenging to remember.

Too many outdated Qs for current NASM-CPT exam
It seems that the “QOD” is always based off of the current (7th edition) NASM CPT text, but the more questions you add to your pool (in other words, the more times you load the ten-question format), the more questions from the 6th edition start popping up- information that isn’t even touched on in the 7th edition. When I pointed this out to the app developers I was told: even though this info might not be in the current edition, the answers are things that NASM-CPTs *should* be able to draw a conclusion on. If you have a flux capacitor, can hit 88mph and wish to go back in time to take the NASM-CPT exam two years ago, then this app is for you…if you are looking for a tool to accurately test you on information on the CURRENT NASM-CPT examination, keep looking. I passed, but not by the help of this app!

I Passed 1st Try
This pocket app was really helpful if you’ve just went through a guided study session being new to the fitness industry. When you’ve read through all the materials the class session has provided, you’ll be able to have a better understanding of the material you need to know for the test. It was also really helpful in terms of squeezing in time to study while working full time hours. It was very helpful when I began studying two weeks prior to the exam. Obviously passing on the 1st try depends on how you prepare, but as long as you don’t wait for the day before to study, you’re more likely to pass than fail.

Good tool but do not rely on this
Overall, this app proved to be a good tool to study most of the material was up to date and the questions are formulated similar to nasm’s. However even though they claim to have updated the questions some are still not up to date or are incorrect.
For example there is no mention of the sharks skills test or the Davies test on the current version of NASM but it is on this app.
Another example is: mechanoreceptors are located in all of the following except: ans- pacinian corpuscles ... however pacinian corpuscles are a type of mechanoreceptor
And lastly: they refer to self-monitoring ( NASM) as self-management (app)
There are more discrepancies that I encountered that I don’t want to get into. But if you are going to be charging a premium for the service these discrepancies should be minimal or non-existent.

I PASSED!
I passed my NASM CPT test today! I can definitely say that this app helped me pass on my first try. I am not a strong test taker, so I had a high level of anxiety and needed a way to build my confidence and to REALLY test my knowledge of the materials. The app provides 800 questions from all of the testing domains. I answered all of them and came out with a cumulative score of 76. I felt like I needed to at least score an 80 to feel confident that I would pass. I went back through the ones that I missed and made sure that I had a solid understanding. Do yourself a favor and get this app!

Best study tool
I have been using Fitness prep to study for my NSCA-CPT. It has been the most helpful study tool. Not only do you get to practice test taking, but for every answer it tells you why the answer is correct and why the incorrect answers are incorrect. It also gives you the chapter and page numbers to reference for further study. I highly recommend this app as you prepare for your certification. It also gives you the ability to customize what type of test you want to take, ie. missed questions, weakest subject, or study specific subject.

Great app!
I read through reviews of PocketPrep from the last 3-5 years and noticed mixed feedback on the type of questions the app had. I’m sure much has changed since because when I used it and signed up for premium this year, I thought I was prepared for the exam (and passed!)
800+ questions with accurate references back to the 4th edition of the textbook helped. For me, this app made the difference just by constantly seeing questions. I would recommend anyone to get premium access and use it with any other study took of preference
