They won’t leave it alone. Used to be a really good newspaper app, that felt like reading the paper. Now, full screen advertising videos pop up seemingly at random, right in the middle of trying to read an article. Absolutely infuriating, and ruins the reader experience. Look elsewhere for a news app. As if the “print” ads aren’t enough...now this??

New review:
App has now been revised, and seems to be more reliable. It also has some appealing new features as well as added content from USA Today. Overall very much improved, and I am enjoying the reading experience. No more pop up video ads!…thanks for making the changes.

Like most long term subscribers, 51 years I and my wife were reluctant to go digital. Boy am I glad we did. The app does a fine job, occasionally a log on issue but not the app fault. The feature that has changed reading habits and enhanced my enjoyment is ease with Which I can send anything I read and comment on the article. The app access your email address book so you do not have to look up the address, just start typing the name as it appears in your directory and push the button.
My only issue is the content of the paper, it is biased to the left, woke culture and concentrates on negative aspects of every story that features a conservative view. It is wonder in this market they are having trouble meeting financial goals.

This paper is a failure when it comes to truth blatant truth. Covering the traitors Rutherford, Rubio and Scott is non existent you bury any articles on their party loyalty, trump loyalty and traitor is and what the truth is on 1/6/21 in section B behind front page headlines like “National Hymn” really? You enable what happened front page news should be Traitors Scott and Rutherford support insurrection even after capitol police killed? What is wrong with that truth? Times Union is nothing but an extension of Fox News and. Tool for the right John Rutherford should never be re-elected again and you should be telling us why? The start is for the sports page everything else in there is propaganda favoring traitors, insurrection and the Republican Party. Report the truth there was no fraud in voting the all other narratives are the big lie. Report on why the poor need to vote by mail. Tell the truth out loud on the front page no buried. This paper is unamerician but you have a good sports page.

I like most of the changes, but I miss the Content tab that was on the left. Quick and easy it was!
My real problem is the arrow to turn the page. It seldom works and I have to push, not even swipe, to get to the next page.
There’s no way to find out how to avoid the problem!
Other than that, I read the paper every day using the app on my iPhone. It does the job, but I wish it was a little better.
A tutorial would be great!

It took me a while to decide to switch to the digital version of the newspaper. I am so glad I did. It is easy to read and maneuver through. It has extra sections that give the latest news and you get USA TODAY free everyday! And you can stay up on all the news even when you are out of town. Everyone should subscribe to the Times Union. There is no where else for daily, local news.

Love this app. I’ve been subscribing to the digital edition of my local newspaper for several years but previous had to download the pdf version of each day’s edition. This app still gives me access to the complete digital copy of the paper but also provides the opportunity to read each article in a “reader’s view” text only format.

I like having the notification flag on my opening screen. It reminds me to catch up on the latest local news and things of interest. I have been remiss in the past, and I’ve been a subscriber for years! Also, I like the format. It is much more user friendly than in the past.

This is a massive improvement over the previous digital version for ease of use, navigation and reliability. I prefer a replica edition so I can see everything and choose for myself what is important to read. I don’t like some one else picking and choosing articles to highlight so am grateful to have this option.

The app makes reading stories from the paper super easy! It is easy to navigate between sections and highlights stories you’ve read.
The Times Union does a great job covering our city. I admire the way the reporters dig to get the truth about what goes on behind closed doors.
Keep it up!

Though we have enjoyed getting our newspaper as a paper for years….moving on line is also convenient. If we are out of town we can still read our local, state and national news daily.
