buffalodrool,
Let’s think about the user not the developer.
I bought Fossil Q54 in late 2016 or early 2017. I have experienced the same problems as everyone else here. ( dropped connection and trouble reconnecting being the most common) I can handle the lost connection issue, or rather my watch has trained me to live with it. It eventually catches up and gives me my steps.

The updates however!! Why does finding an update immediately cause the watch to lose connection and stop tracking steps. Is it possible for the tracker to continue to track steps if an update is available? Being able to postpone the updates would help. I recently went on a 3 day camping trip. Updates hit the first morning out. So no steps recorded all weekend. Finally on Sunday when I got back to WiFi, there was an update waiting when it finally reconnected.
I am the consumer here. The ultimate goal of your company should be to to sell watches not keep the developer happy.
untaken nickname needed again,
Batteries wear out so quickly
Few weeks, then $20 for new batteries. :( when it dies again I will probably switch brands of counter, because this isn’t maintainable.
Update: in the Chicago suburbs
1. I sometimes bicycle 10 miles a day, but the fossil q doesn’t acknowledge it, just tells me I haven’t reached my step goal. Pretty discouraging!
2. I recently tried another brand (rechargeable) and have discovered the fossil was only registering 1/3-1/2 of my steps. I no longer am using the Fossil Q. It was a nice introduction to wearable step counters but I need better feedback for my exercising efforts.
M.E.Cole,
Love my Fossil Q
I have no issues with it. I love that it tracks my steps and sleeping habits. Specially love that I’m notified when I get a texts or calls from my loved ones that I set up on the app. I have my phone on silent at work, so it works awesome for me. I fell naked if I forget to put it on when I’m in a hurry. Wish it did a little more, but very happy with it. I bought 3 of them. One for myself and my kids. My batteries are free for life. I just take it in and they change them out no charge, so I don’t know why someone is saying they have to 20 dollars for them and they last for months on end 🤷‍♀️
26R.H,
Why?
I love my Q dreamer, and to be quite frank it is the most beautiful band fossil has made. If the new ones were anywhere near as pretty I would buy them. However, making an app so horrid it completely undermines the bands functionality is absolutely frustrating! Why would you make such an amazing product of yours useless by forcing your customers to use this underdeveloped app that lacks the ability to perform the simplest of functions (i.e. Connecting to my band?!¿). This decision makes absolutely no sense considering that I never had any problems pairing my dreamer to my phone. If you are going to force us customers to use new apps, please ensure that they perform perfectly next time.
Thanks,
An unhappy customer.
hedgiehuffles,
Watch is okay so far
I received this as a gift back in 2017 and now just recently set it up. It tracks sleep and steps fine. The only thing I really want from the watch is being able to have three features (like activity along with skip song plus go back to previous song.) I feel like if more customization was added, the watch would feel better. Right now it feels like everything is preset and I’m not digging it.
Shammrokk,
Why, Fossil?
Why do you continue to make decisions that are detrimental to your business? It's not that hard. Make an app that works the way it is supposed to for your paying customers. I love my watch, but I cannot use it correctly. I have not been able to use it correctly for months. Disconnections, incorrect instructions, app crashes, etc. etc. The list goes on and on. Judging from other reviews, I am not the only one who feels this way. You have lost a loyal customer, and I hope you get your bearings together before you lose more.
gprice09,
Sad
I love my Q Modern Pursuit with the legacy app. But now, they are not compatible and I am only able to use the new app. I can’t track my daily goals any more and that was the best feature for me. I can see sleep and steps. Why not goals too. I am quite sad about this. The other problem is the legacy app let me pick a contact and assign a number. That number would show when I got a call, text, or email from that contact. It doesn’t work for the email any more on the new app and this is a HUGE problem. Why take away these features?
Petermani,
Worst App Ever Ever
Or may be the technology that they tried to push inside this watch is wrong. Every 2-3 days it automatically gets disconnected and have to sit with this with a paper clip pressing behind the watch and Bluetooth forget device and pairing. Seriously I have done that for 20th time in the last 8 months of using this watch. Why Fossil why, who cried to have you guys add this innovation into this watch. Man, the App makers. No wonder the ratings are too low. Hear people suffer and their reviews to your laughter. Worst App Ever Ever.
Kickassboarder,
I love fossil.
I absolutely love my fossil watch the one thing I can’t stand the fact that I cannot get it to sync properly with the app my steps don’t show up if I can give it about a little one star I would my life I’ve had to send my watch back several times to get fixed and it still not working properly and it’s not the watch part it’s the smart watch part of the tracks my steps. I will never buy another smart watch again

If I could give this app zero stars I would, I couldn’t even sign up cause it said my connection was bad and when I tried to login it wouldn’t let me saying that I had the wrong password, so when I went to reset it it said I would get an email with my password I did this 3 time and still no email, y’all are real fake for that. If your gonna make an app make it accessible to all and actually usable.
