Description

A 'New & Noteworthy' app, Giffer Pro was designed from the ground up for making awesome animated gifs quickly and easily, whenever you want and wherever you go.

Giffer Pro provides larger (480 x 480 max), longer (double length) animated gifs compared to the standard version of Giffer, without the need for an in-app purchase. Of course you also get that warm & fuzzy pro status feeling.

The best part about Giffer is its powerful simplicity. Advanced features are there when you need them, yet unobtrusive enough to let you create an animated gif in just a few taps.

Create virtually any kind of animated gif: stop motion animation gifs, cinemagraphs, jitter or wiggle gifs, time lapse gifs, seamless loop gifs, reverse gifs, text overlay gifs, reaction gifs, cat gifs, dog gifs, you name it. Effortlessly share your favorite gifs to Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook or through Messages, Email or Airdrop.

FEATURES:
· Export gifs as Live Photos (New!)
· Export gifs as videos
· Create gifs using existing Live Photos, burst photos, photos, videos, or frames from other gifs
· Crop gifs to any size ratio
· Cinemagraph mode with stabilization

IN-APP CAMERA MODES:
· Single-frame (great for stop-motion)
· Burst (with adjustable delay)
· Adjustable auto timer single-frame
· Adjustable auto timer burst
· Export single-frame photos to the Camera Roll as you capture them

PLAYBACK MODES:
· Back-and-forth (yo-yo)
· Forward loop
· Reverse loop
· Single play forward
· Single play reverse

SAVING & SHARING:
· Save gifs to the Camera Roll as animated gifs, Live Photos, or videos
· Share to Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, or through iMessage, Email or Airdrop
· Create a tiny, shareable URL by uploading your gif to giffer.co (no account required!)

Animated gifs are great because you don't need any special plugins to view them. You can paste them directly into iMessage/SMS messages or post 'em to your blog just like regular images, without any cross-browser worries or extra effort.

This version fixes the "add photos" crash and non-playing gifs in the Giffer library.

3.0 Release:
I don't even know where to begin! For real. The first thing you're going to notice is the long overdue UI refresh. Yes, Giffer is going to feel right at home alongside your other favorite iOS 7, 8 and 9 apps.

You can crop your gifs now. (I know!!) No more square-only gifs. If square-only gifs are your thing, fear not. You can always tap the square crop button and keep on truckin' with square gifs.

You can edit gifs you've already made, or gifs you've downloaded from the Internet. Found a gif thats too long, or that plays too fast? Import it into your library, tap on it, then tap "edit" and slow it down. Add a filter while you're at it. Go hog wild.

Individual frame delays are back! Freeze time or draw attention to that special moment in your gif by setting delays on individual frames.

Rescue those poor gifs stuck in the non-animating-limbo that is the Photos app by importing them into your Giffer library. Just tap the import button on a folder and choose "camera roll".

I never thought I'd say this, but now that Facebook ALLOWS ANIMATED GIFS you can enable direct gif sharing to Facebook in Giffer's settings screen. It's off by default since there seems to be some rendering issues in Google Chrome.

Another nice new feature to check out while you're at the settings screen: "import frame skip" will let you choose how many frames to skip when importing videos. This is especially handy for slow motion videos.

Honorable mention: snap points were added to the speed slider for an improved range of delays. (From 0.03 seconds all the way down to 7 seconds.) This is great news for you slideshow-style gif lovers. I'm looking at you, @nasdaq!

Last but not least: you can now import gifs using iTunes file sharing. Open up iTunes, select your device, click Apps, click Giffer, then drag a bunch of gifs into the "Giffer Documents" pane. They'll show up in the "iTunes" folder within your Giffer library.

Of course I squashed a few bugs here and there too. The biggest one was how speedy frame delays would sometimes actually get saved as 0.1 seconds. (Instead of 0.07s, 0.03s, etc). Fixed!

Now that this huge update is out the door I plan on releasing more frequent updates; about once a month or so.

As always, with each update the app reviews are reset. So if you're enjoying the update and can spare a couple of minutes I would love a review! I read every single one. I'm sooo excited for this release and can't wait to see the gifs you make. Thanks, happy giffing!

2.8
2014-01-03
A handful of bugs have been fixed and some new features await you in Giffer 2.8! Upgrading is sooooo totally recommended.

· Video conversion was a bit rough. It's a lot better now.
· Some settings were not being remembered and/or honored (including saving new GIFs to the camera roll).
· Text overlays sometimes wouldn't appear for the duration of the animation. (That rhymed!)
· Sometimes frame thumbnails were black.
· Additional UI weirdness due to subtle differences between iOS 6.x and iOS 7.
· New! Sharper text overlay quality.
· New! Save previously made GIFs to your camera roll.
· New! Send GIFs to pals around you using AirDrop. (iOS 7+ only)
· New! Copy your previously made GIFs so you can paste them into other apps.

I hope you like this version of Giffer! There is still much more to come.

If you see anything out of the ordinary please report it to me directly, right in the app! Just tap the 3-line settings button on the home screen, then tap "get help". Or if you're old-fashioned you could always email [email protected].

Have fun!

· Hold your finger on a featured GIF to copy its URL

I'm not gonna be all "bug fixes" with this, so if'n you please, I've fixed the following:

· Reverse playback mode not actually reversed in gifs
· App hang while selecting photos to import during a photo stream synch
· Accidental photo selection while scrolling the multiple photo picker
· Facebook login issue for users who changed their FB email or password
· No camera available for 5th gen iPod touch users
· Image paste issues

As always, If you need any help just send an email over to [email protected] or visit http://giffer.uservoice.com/

2013-08-06
Some important bug squashing this time around. Updating is super duper recommended.

· Fixed GIF speed/timing issue
· Fixed issue where sometimes tumblr uploads wouldn't animate (a result of testing 2MB uploads. tumblr's API limit is still 1MB!)
· The screen now flashes white after the shutter fires in self timer mode
· Reminder: you can turn off the watermark at any time by tapping the "options" button from the camera screen. (BUT people won't know how awesome you are for using Giffer.)
· The "options" button on the camera screen is slightly more noticeable
· Some preliminary fixes for you lucky iOS 7 users

Version 2.4:
Some bug squashing.

· Fixed Facebook sharing (for real this time!)
· More accurate speed slider label
· Now remembering the giffer.co share setting
2.3
2013-07-19
Version 2.3:
Fixed Facebook sharing for new Giffer users.

Version 2.2:
What's new, you say? What ISN'T new?!

For the past year I've spent nearly every ounce of my free time (with the occasional Game of Thrones break) working toward completely re-writing Giffer from the ground up. (For the third time!) Giffer has been optimized for speed and ease of use. I hope you have fun making awesome GIFs with it.

What's next? Video-to-gif support!

If you have any suggestions please tap "request a feature" in the settings menu or feel free to email me at [email protected].

Thanks for using Giffer.

Sharing with tumblr works now! AND after logging in, you can even select which tumblog you want to post to. Giffer uses XAuth, so your tumblr username and password are never stored. Also fixed a bug where sharing to twitter through tumblr would sometimes not include the GIF URL.

seibed,
Loved it til my iPhone 12 w notch
Seems like critical buttons are in the notch area in the iPhone 12 (I assume X and 11) screen. Pretty sad because I loved this app. All the newer gif programs seem to require monthly payments (?! Really ?!) would gladly pay more to have it fixed. Help us developer!
PreferBlues,
Wish it worked
It will not work with a 'burst' mode of iPhone photos. I took 36 pictures of our dogs playing and we tried and tried to get it to work, even with the app writer, Taber, giving me tech support help. I did not ask for my $4 back, as I am going to try it with 2 or 3 photos, but not downloaded first.

So instead, I made a movie of the 36 dog pictures with iMovie. I hope they have an update, so that you can use this app for already downloaded pictures, it certainly would be fun.
Lightboxr,
Works for me
I have an iPhone 6 and I am not having any problems with this. It auto saves all images and the gif to your phone so there’s no need to look for a “save to photos” button. Just export and click finish. The quality is fine.
smartlolita34,
Horrible export quality
I really like this interface. It’s pretty intuitive and it does give you a good gif making experience but then...all the time you spend making your gif goes to waste because of the horrible export quality even of you select “large gift image size” in settings. I regret paying for this app when there are other similar free apps that give you the same poor quality results.
jakerobinson,
iphoneX video to gif
My main use case is saved video to gif. Giffer makes you clip it down, but you can only clip from the end, not the front of the video. Also, there doesn’t seem to be a way to increase the quality or size of gifs. Was hoping for quite a bit more control of this and less on camera tools.
Sicnarfj25,
The saved video gif is low def
I was really excited to see the resulting gif/video I created from 30 or so stop-motion photos. The ‘GIF preview’ showed the photos at full resolution, but the saved version is low definition at best. If the developer can explain a setting I may have missed, or fix this issue, I will change my rating.
Jotfredus,
Extra, but extraordinary
I can't figure out how to save and send working GIFs with the camera roll. That leaves a niche Giffer fills neatly, and does it well. I have never had a problem with it.
kwrfb,
Higher image quality would make this a perfect app
Love the many features and ease of use but the final gif/video quality is so low that Giffer gifs are virtually unshareable on social media, which is my main reason for making gifs.
Mayacayey,
Simple to use
Never had a problem using this on any iOS version.
posneg,
Best of the lot.
Could render better. My only complaint
