Hop into the sandals of a gladiator and fight for glory in epic arena battles. Now with cross-platform realtime online multiplayer 1vs1 battles!

Gladihoppers is a wacky 2d physics gladiator battle simulator where the mix of the 2d physics and regular 2d animation offers a fun and original gameplay quite unlike your average gladiator mobile game. The combat system features two different battle stances for your gladiator, each with their own directional attacks of varying power and speed that allow for more dynamic and interesting battles.

In addition to melee attacks there are also javelins to throw and over 90 items to customize your gladiator with; swords, axes, maces, shields, helmets, armor, pants, gloves and shoes.

Gladihoppers blends retro pixel art 2d sprites with 3d low poly environments to bring you a unique looking style and stunning visuals that provide an immersive gladiator experience.

No complaints

So I have no complaints about the game that I can think of, but I do know that if you start adding things to the game it will get way more plays and continued play. I know that I will uninstall this sometime because I know I will be done with using the same armor and weapons even when fully upgraded. So if you could treat this game like call of duty and start adding things like weapons and different armor and even armor and/or weapon customization, then it would be amazing. We need more incentives to keep fighting the fights lol!

New swinging animations as the weapons get higher tier would be great. So would special effects like burning damage or poison damage. The little things like that would make me addicted to this game if they were done.

Neat

I like the game. The fighting I really like and each hit has weight to it. The music is tribal and fits with the style and theme. I really like the combat and besides a few times I’ve never looked back on a time I lost and thought the cpu was being cheap. The only thing I dislike is the career mode. It’s where you choose a character with unique strength and endurance stats (you get to choose only one, but can reveal others that might have better gear and stats with gold coins). After every fight you get three options, one free the other two with gold coins, to upgrade either gear or your two stats. There are three stats that you upgrade once you level up, but they are useful after fights. fight and level him up until death, when he dies you start over again, but you can use gold coins for permanent upgrades. The permanent upgrades never increase damage and leveling up doesn’t either, so unless at the end of the battle get a better weapon or an increase in strength you can’t increase damage. If I’m unlucky with the stuff I get I’ll only be able to increase health and health regen items with money, and I’ll fight people that have 100 less health but double the damage I do so the fights drag on and it just isn’t as fun. To change it I’d add in a third star you can upgrade that increases damage, and make the gear or stat upgrades bigger than increments of one or two.

Online and button mapping

Hello developers when I first saw your game I immediately fell in love with it eventually I eventually got the game on my phone. Now for the little changes I know your probably a small Indy game team and I don’t expect you to get on this right away but I just though it would be nice to add online play to the game. I know that can be a challenge especially if you have a small team ( which you probably do) but I just think it would be a fun feature so you can rank up in competitive play or just casual games against other players or you can just play with some friends and see who’s the best. Besides that another thing I want changed is the button mapping. Sometimes I end up pushing the wrong button and losing so I just want a feature where you can change where the buttons can be placed ( this might also help for left handed people as well). Anyway these are my little suggestions for the game and maybe you can add these later. Well I’m still gonna play the game and support you. I hope you ( or your team) keep making amazing games and keep up the good work!😁😁😁

Btw If you also think this is a good idea copy and paste this to your review to spread the word. the Please add more updates I have a idea for a future update. please excuse my bad grammar. My idea is that you would have the same moving mechanics as in the Spartacus war. and you could go to places on the map, just like you could go to cities in Spartacus war. you could go to the blacksmith to upgrade your weapons and the gladiator arena to do fights and there would be side quests to get more gold like you could fight
a ton of tribal warriors to get honor from the emperor and you could use the honor to get like special weapons or armor. And I think there’s a lot more that you can Figure out to add to the game mode. Notes to developer developer you made such a amazing game which has filled me with joy. if I had one wish it would be for a full update of Gladihoppers if I spelled that right I think that there’s so much more you can add to Gladihoppers to make the game more amazing so please do it would make me very happy Thank you.

Original idea, fun game modes

I got this game in late 2019 when I got it randomly recommended to me. I thought it was a generic cash grab game, but I was very impressed. First of all, they only give you ads every few rounds. Second thing, the idea is very original, I’ve never seen anything like this. I’d also like to give my opinion on all the game modes, save the emperor is simple and fun, great for casual players like me! Looking for a challenge? Check out career mode, it’s fairly simple, you fight enemies, upgrade anything you like after every round, and upgrade your team helping you, I also love how there are endings you can get after finishing. Also there aren’t any micro transactions. If you want to know more about this game, I recommend that you download it yourself, it’s a great way to kill some time!

AMAZING GAMMMEEE

This game has got to be my favorite mobile game I’ve ever played, and that’s no exaggeration. My only problem is once you upgrade everything you can. There is 4 different fields you can upgrade to improve your chances in fights but they only upgrade four times each. That makes 16 total upgrades. For an inexperienced player, it will take them a while to upgrade all of these but I re-downloaded the game like 4 days ago and I’ve maxed everything out already. I would absolutely LOVE to see more upgrades here. I want more than anything for the career on this game to have an update. More permanent gold upgrades to really keep the game interesting. Not that the gameplay itself isn’t fun but it’s always better to have something to save for.

The game is epic

Ok firstly I would like to thank you for being such an epic game to the App Store. There is nothing I have found that is like it for phones. I do have a few ideas that could possibly improve the game if done right.

My fist idea was special attacks. These attacks would not be based off of upgrades though but rather nationalities, weapons and helmets. For example imagine there was a Scandinavian nationality. If you have a Scandinavian person with a double sided battle axe you could swing it constantly in a circle for 3 seconds. Or if you had a Viking helmet you could go berserk and get a buff for attack speed and reduce the damage of enemy weapons. Another example might be that the romans have higher durability on shields and so on for most iconic traits you might see.

Secondly I would like to have more ranged weapons a long with being able to fight against multiple enemies at once.

Finally I would like to able to hold two weapons at a time.

If you do not choose to add any ideas that is fine this is just based on some thoughts that formed in my head while playing the game for multiple hours.

Love it! But I have some ideas

Now I know the Zombies are just a fun Halloween exclusive currently, but I think they could be much more, maybe add them and skeletons as permanent races? (Like the races you can select for your character, but Zombies)
I would love to play the game and battle waves of Zombies in arcade, or battle against the infected in a gladiatorial battle, coming our victorious and living another day.
Now I would understand if zombies stay a Halloween exclusive, after all they are just a Halloween-themed way to give people a fun, new way to play, but I personally would love Zombies and Skeletons as a race, and maybe a Spooky themed arena?
Oh also, new weapons are always great, and I think more Spear-Type weapons would be fun, maybe a Golden Spear or a Pilum?

Love the physics...🤣

The physics adds so much strategy and realism to fighting, and is pretty funny to watch as well! The game is super well polished and the updates will make it even better! I really like your games and this one is no exception.

Suggestions:
- Sumo mode (knock opponent out of the arena and into a pit of some sort)
- Samurai, Knights, and Vikings? Ok maybe as a different arena or career story you know, but people love samurai...
- Breaking of weapons (from parrying too much)
- Bleeding mechanic (visual and functional)
- Poisin, Flame, and Ice weapons? Like bosses in the future career mode?
- Last one. If you do add samurai and knights, you gotta have katanas, claymores, rapiers, nunchaku, and staffs! Those would need different attack animations though to add meaning to the different factions.

These are just ideas that I wanted to throw out, so do whatever you feel would make the game the most enjoyable! The best thing about this game for me is the sword play, so if you added different weapon styles that would be cool (spear-like, large sword w/out shield, two daggers, etc.)

More gore

I love the game so much, so much cook moved, so much armor, shields, weapons, so much characters. And also cool maps. But what I like is the blood idea. It looks so cool, but i feel like this game needs a option called, “very bloody.” That option can be turned on in the blood level button in settings. It makes more blood realistic like blood squirting out, wounds, and dismemberment. That would be so cool to like see a guy with a spear stab a opponent with like little health, and their head comes off, and gets stuck on the spear. And like a axe cutting someone in half, and like a sword cutting off someone’s legs of arms off. I would love it if you put that in. Please, that would make my 2020 😁
