This game has such great great potential, by far one of the most fun mobile games I’ve played. That being said, it’s a little transaction heavy, and it could definitely use improvement for graphics and less micro transactions would make this game amazing.
If any of the developers see this, please hear me out: You’ve got an excellent game here, and it could very realistically become hugely popular as a mobile game. The biggest thing holding you back in my eyes is some of the “pay-to-win” mechanisms you’ve added to produce a profit. I totally understand needing money as a developer, but I’m telling you, this game is awesome enough as it is, people will spend money on all sorts of cometic items and continue playing if they feel like there’s loot to grind for, but if you just let players by loot chest and o.p. Items, well… your game will die out for casual players once they reach a certain place in the game. Consider less micro transactions, and more ways to grind for gear in game and I promise you, you could have one of the best mobile games of 2022. Best of luck guys! Good stuff so far!

No potential for current state of game
The skill ceiling is nonexistant, your character will forever be strength locked to how much you pay in the game, or how lucky you get with questionably rng reliant minigames. You can not clutch fights due to shield block only skills, you will constantly be stunned due to extremely high near 15% stun on hit chances (2.5 seconds) which guarantees a kill on you if your opponents weapon hits for 1/4 of your healthbar, anyone who gets lucky with armor effects can not actually be killed, there are effects such as 30% chance to not be killed when you’re supposed to die, 11% chance to simply not play damage, and in my opinion, the worst being a 10% chance to reflect 97% of an opponents attack back onto them, so you take little to no damage and the opponent takes basically all of their own attack back unto themselves. Theres also the fact skills have hyperarmor, on top of the extremely unfair environment to clutch against players with 4x as powerful weapons and armor, anyone who uses a skill while you attack has a guaranteed kill on you, as you can not feint in this game, there is no way to withdraw attacks. Seeing as how relevant gear and these effects are in combat makes me question this games potential as an actual skill integral competitive fighting game

The game is great except a few things would make it perfect
Firstly i love the concept of the game its refreshing however it becomes more and more evident how much of an edge people who pay to win have over you, your only chance is either having actual skill or having good rng, the controls are wonky as well as sometimes the input doesnt register and you get hit as a result, a few features would make this game amazing.
Firstly, a pity system would sort of help the before mentioned rng issue

Third, a friending system where you can 1v1 your friends would be amazing
Fourth, customization: although not necessary and the game would run fine without it being able to change your armors and weapons colors would be great

Has a lot of potential
To start, I think this game’s combat is very fun. But it can be very heavily overshadowed by the incredibly annoying pay to win mechanics. To get better gear in this game, you need get chests. The loot in a chest is randomized and you often get gear that is lower then what you already have. And there is a big issue with the gear system itself. The matchmaking is based off the player level, not the gear score. So essentially you could be level 10 with a 300 gear score, and fight another level 10 with a 450 gear score. I will note that gear score does not equate to skill, but it does determine how good your weapons are. I often get matched with someone who will be the same level or even higher then me, but they have a significantly worse gear score then me. It is all due to the way the chests work. So their attack damage is lower then mine, and it results in me getting an unfair win. And not to mention, when someone rage quits before the match ends, you get an error screen that will keep you from returning to the menu, even after exiting out of the game. This game has so much potential to be a fun and addictive game, but it has some serious design flaws.

Has some potential but needs fixing
Okay I stared the game and I really liked it. Good story and good graphics. But when I played the drunken soldier part, the npc was way to overpowered. Also the duels were bad as well. Most of the players were bots and even if you had 10x better gear, you could somehow lose. I had a level 68 sword and the bot most likely had a level 58 long sword. Note this I had my one handed sword on and a 19 level shield. Yet I lost, if you don’t have a long sword you barely win, because you could have the best one handed sword ever and your opponent has a bad long sword. You could still lose. I find this very unfair to players. Also the bots can do things the players can’t. In the game it teaches you how to block attack. Meaning you block your opponent and attack after. If you do this to a bot, a bot can block attack your block attack. But the players can’t do it back again. You can only dodge it. But dodging it is very difficult. You can’t make any mistakes at all and moving you finger so fast is hard to aim it towards the dodge button. Good-ish game, has potential but needs much MUCH work on it.

They need to do away with games like these. I come from games like For Honor, Chiv, and Mordhau. Any sword fighter is my bread and butter and this game is literally a scam.
The skill element is your wallet, as you play your account constantly levels you up, putting you against opponents with a vastly superior gear level and the only free way to get better gear is by winning duels or progressing through the story, yet the story becomes infinitely more difficult requiring a higher gear level to complete, alternatively to get gear you can try to win duels against opponents who also have a superior gear level. I can’t help but wonder if these other players are real considering how few people appear to play this game on reviews alone.

Zero balance
I mean I put a lot of time into this game so I’ll say this game has its phases. When you start off it’s a pretty fun game, skill will determine wins. But now that I’ve put over 5 hours into the game at the very minimum. I can say that I have been stuck at the same combat level and the only way to get to a new peak is to spend money and hope I get the luck of the draw. Countless fights were I had hit the person at least 20 times and they are missing half their health and round 1 has been going on for 5 minutes and they have yet to hit me. But then I get them down to there last slip of health and they just stop taking damage. Like literally my attacks do nothing. Then I get hit once and forcefully locked into their skill move and die off of two hits. It’s blatantly pay to win and is super frustrated overall really diminishes the quality of the game. For instance I just fought someone and we were both level 28. My power level was at 1286 and his was in the 1800’s. It just is so dumb. I tried working around it but it’s not possible without paying. So that’s why it gets a 2 star

Countering special attacks not working
The higher ranks are filled with people wearing armor and using weapons that are purchased. It makes it nearly impossible to win matches when you get to a certain point because you end up matching with players that are 2000 or more higher stats than you are because of purchased armor and weapons. To make matters worse, when you counter special attacks it rarely works even when you hit the correct buttons at the correct time. If the countering attacks were calibrated correctly you could at least stand a chance against opponents with much higher rank because you could use skill to defeat them, but because countering special attacks rarely works I find myself losing to people who are not very good simply because their stats are much higher and they are able to charge their special attacks and use them to take me out with one or two hits. Tighten up the controls so that those of us who cannot afford 5 dollars a week for exclusive armor can actually stand a chance against the people who can. Fix the special attack countering mechanism and I will gladly change my review to 5 stars.

Ruined bugged out game.
I played the game for the past few weeks and now my game is bugged out. I attempted to contact support with no reply from them whatsoever. I made multiple purchases and bought their 1 year subscription and there is no help from Shori games. I tried the game on another iPad and the guest account works without issue. I also tried to reinstall the game on my phone to no resolve. After each duel the game crashes. The ads error out after one use. Item upgrades don’t upgrade immediately, the game has to be restarted. The treasure map bugs out after the second purchase. I don’t receive the 350 a week from the subscription, only the 50 per day and even that crashes the game after receiving it. I also don’t face any named people with banners in duels, only names with knight_(random characters). Which makes me think I’m only facing bots. I‘ve since requested a refund for all of my purchases and have was denied the refund even though the game is too bugged to play. Shori games does not care about their customers whether they’ve spend money on their game or not.

Unfair duels
Looking through some of these reviews it’s evident that many players are thinking the same thing about how this game requires you to either endlessly grind or pay to win, but I honestly don’t mind as much. I understand the devs need to make money on their game, and it’s a genuinely fun and well made game. However my issue is with the ways players are paired in the duels. I am a decently skilled player with equipment that is currently rated in the 600’s, and I’m being placed against players with equipment rated in the high 900’s! In a match that takes me 25 hits to win, it takes my opponent just 5. My stamina only lets me take a few swings, while my opponent never seems to stop. It’s not like I don’t understand sometimes being paired with a better equipped player, but this is ridiculous. That is my one complaint about this otherwise fun and refreshing game, but if I continue to be placed in matches with no hope of winning I may stop playing it entirely. Thank you.
