3.0
2019-10-22
Version 3.0 is dependent on Apple Health data.

The reason for the change is I switched to a CGM system last year and all the Glucose readings from the CGM systems can be written to Apple Health. Supporting data in two data sources was additional complexity with limited value add (Apple Heath and a separate database).

For new users, simply agree to let Glucobalance read the required data from Apple Health (Glucose, Carbohydrates, Insulin Delivery, Active Energy and Steps).

The major benefit of this change is any data added to Apple Health by other applications (e.g. Dexcom CGM, Minimed CGM, dietary apps, fitness apps, other diabetes apps) will be available for analysis in Glucobalance.

You can also write Glucose, Carbohydrates and Insulin Delivery to Apple Health by agreeing to let Glucobalance write data to these areas.

For existing users, prior versions let you optionally choose to use Apple Health data. If you have not been writing your Glucobalance data to Apple Health, this historical data will not be displayed in the new charts. Version 3.0 adds more capabilities so should be worth the change.

Major Changes:
1. Today View updated with new chart to show % of readings (e.g. High, Good, Low)
2. Today View update with new “Standard Deviation” field for daily readings
3. Calendar View updated with bolder coloring for day values
4. Charts -> Glucose By Hour updated to show frequency of readings by hour
5. For Activity tracking Steps now complemented with Active Energy
6. Ability to track date and time of insulin pump insertion sets on charts
7. Apple Health used as data source for Glucose, Carbohydrates, Insulin, Active Energy and Steps
2.0

6. Video summary of these changes is available in the Help section of the app
1.8

Added ability to create meals and add foods to auto-calculate carbs
Re-ordered the main tabs to replace "Dashboard" with "Calendar" for easier access to Calendar
Added easier access to history and chart for each day from "Today" tab (new icons on top)
General performance and stability improvements
New overview video (accessible from "Help")
1.7
2017-12-11
Bluetooth connectivity for Contour Next One meter
Edit existing entries from History tab
1.6
2017-09-26
1. Fix 24 hour blood glucose chart to ensure full 24 hour display visible (the problem occurred when last entry from previous day or first entry from next day was much higher than the day being displayed).
2. Adjust the scale of the blood glucose chart on the Today tab to be 0 to 250 for mg/dL and 0 to 14 for mmol/L unless a higher value exists, and then adjust to accommodate as necessary
3. Refresh the user settings for colors on History and Calendar tabs so app restart not required for changes to take effect (previously if color ranges were adjusted by the user the app had to be restarted for changes to show)

This is a really detailed app. I just downloaded it and I really like what I see so far. The only thing I am not seeing is DARK MODE. I have sensitive eyes and adding that would make this app 10 out of 10.
Thanks for creating it!
UPDATE: The app now has Dark Mode. The developer listened and responded swiftly. So grateful! Amazing app! Great service. 10 out of 10 I recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
jsdenn,
Love it!
I have used this app for three months now. It has made checking and adjusting my glucose so easy. I am new at this game so this has great! You can print things out for your Doctor. I only wish there were more of the charts, etc., that would print out.
