RickMasters,
Perfect Little App!
I’ve been using Golden Hour for YEARS and it has always been flawless. It’s completely accurate, it loads and displays fast, and it shows you what you want to know CLEARLY.
It’s a simple app, but it’s super useful and it has never been buggy. It’s honestly one of my favorite icons on my Home Screen. I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want this app.
Nice to have a perfect app once in a while.
PRB_6,
Helpful but needs more explanation
This is a well organized and well designed app that shows an array of helpful information for the photographer. However, it makes assumptions that the user would already know how to make the most of its features when it should take the approach of trying to help the user as best it can.

For example, the joyride explains the sky and light indices however there is no resource for the user to remind themselves of what those features mean outside of the joyride. Secondarily, the scoring system is not defined—how am I, the user, to interpret a sky index of 8 versus 6, for instance?

Furthermore, its additional features are again not defined. What is the target on the map? Why is it positioned where it is? Am I to go there for the best possible photo? Best photo according to what metric?

The developer would also do well to ask themselves how they can best set the user up for success. What are the definitions of the terms within the app? How am I, the user, to compare one index to another? How can I best use the map to my advantage? What can I look for in the weather integration to maximize my success?

Overall, this app is a well-designed start to a truly useful app. But to get there it needs to consider the user in addition to just providing data for data’s sake.
Alviesf,
I love this app!
This app has proved itself to be very useful. I've lost count of how often I have wasted my time and energy to get to a location to shoot a sunrise or sunset only to be let down by a boring sky. This app won't guarantee you a great shot, but it will greatly improve your odds. I highly recommend. My only question is: how do you generate revenue, with no IAPs and no ads?
Update: lowering my review. Too many times I’ve left my camera at home because this app said “forget it. Overcast” only to find stunning clouds filling the sky. My window would be a better predictor if there wasn’t a giant tree in front of it.

FIXED (Crashes every single time) - REVIEW UPDATE
Here’s the update! Developers contacted me and had me enable notifications, which allowed the app to open. They also informed me they’re working on a proper fix. So happy I can use the app again!

I used to love it, but now this app won’t open for me at all. Running iOS 13.4.1 on a XS.
PLEASE FIX IT!!
Prettylittlegalaxy,
Gorgeous iPhone photos
As an artist and gardener, I have been trained to look for chiaroscuro-the dramatic effect of light next to dark. This app takes the effort out of that as because it effectively provides the hour when it is happening. So, in looking for the light the beauty reveals itself. Thank you to Golden Hours creators. This is a really cool app.
MLough,
User friendly & Great customer service
Just got this and seems pretty user-friendly. Excited to test it out of my next session for accuracy. I had some issues with it when I first bought it with it crashing. Their support figured it out and released an updated in a matter of a day. Impressed by their customer service. 🙌🏻
4k1d,
Very good
Great app. I’d give it 5 Stars, but I just wish they had a bit more in-depth user instructions/icon descriptors. Identifying the golden hour is excellent, though!
Edumacated Redneck,
Good little app
I haven’t tried the weather portion of the app, but for looking up the golden hour based on location it works fine for me. I am not a professional photographer, but when I travel I like to use it try to get a better shot than I might have normally.
ddegner,
Internet required
I pull this app out most often while in the wilderness, and it doesn't work there because it requires internet.

This app is basically one large math equation that should be able to run on the iPhone. Even a slightly less accurate "offline mode" would be better than it's current broken form.
Mac156,
Great app!
This is a great app and pretty accurate as well.

**One issue is that it hides the scores for the events (sunrise, sunset, etc) after the event has taken place. There is -no- reason to do so, and you may want to see how an event was rated after the fact.
