Golf GPS is a simple app. It tells distance to bunkers, water hazards, and pins. Many similar apps requires subscription (hopefully no additional cost) , or you need to build your own map ahead of time. While struggling with my terrible iron shot, I got an idea. When you play golf, you see red, white, blue yardage represents 100, 150 and 200 yards respectively from the pin. The idea was why don’t I reverse it on my iPhone screen.
It draws a map around you, and put blue pin where you are. And draw red, white, blue circle around you. Since I can add circle easily, I add three more: 50, 250 & 300 yard. For those who are familiar with meter, I add an option for you.
Those circle should be enough for most player while the app allows you to drop yardage wherever you want. Drop and drag it to a point you want, and it will tell exact distance from your location. Those yardages will be stored internally and will be displayed again until you delete it.

I truly enjoy this app. I can see the hole for the first time and get good distances to the hole. I hope this app will have an Apple Watch 1 iteration. Is it possible to link the watch and phone so I can check distances on my watch? Thank you for this golf app.

Hazard distances
Love the app! The easiest to use I've seen. I'm not into micromanaging my golf this is just a perfect tool for for distances to anywhere on the greens or hazards. Excellent for golfing at new courses, awesome situation awareness when planning on course tactics.

Clearing yardage markers???
I love everything about it, but i realized that there is no button to delete all the yardage markers that I put, can somebody help please.

Great Simple App
Played today and this helped me shoot a 2 under 34 on a tight windy course in Texas. Thanks again for creating this little beauty. Steve

Amazing...once you get used to it
initially I struggled using this because the map was too small and i was disoriented having the map always facing north...
once i got used to orientation, i started zooming in on the landing areas with the 10 yard markers enabled up to 200 yards, this app became invaluable....there are some tricks that make it more user friendly, I rotate the screen so that it matches me facing toward the target, the most important skill is to zoom on your landing area, for example, when hitting to a green, zoom the gps so that the entire green fills the screen, from this view you can easily see "yardage to front of green" "yardage to back of green" and yardages to surrounding hazards....
the key is to practice zooming on your landing area so that you can finish getting all yardages within 10-15 seconds and then on to your preshot routine, executing the shot...i jam the phone in my pocket and I'm ready to hit my shot....GREAT APP!!!!

Easy To Use!
I loved how easy to use it is, and that is in its simplicity. It's simply Google Maps with yardage circles around our current location, with a twist. I like that I can move the map, and it will redraw the circles. Only a few wish list items. One would be a basic score card, so I dont have to switch to a scoring app, or write on a score card. Second would be the ability to create names for the markers we drop. A use for that would be to name the holes, to make it easier to see where I am. Thanks for a goos app!

Diminishing Performance - Poor Load Times
I started using this app on its initial release. I loved the idea… so simple and yet very quick and powerful to obtain distance for your shot and it performed extremely well. Unfortunately, I did not keep the first release. As new versions were put into circulation by the developer, the performance got slower and slower.
Now this latest version is so slow it is unusable (attempted to use it yesterday). The app plots "your spot" on the map pretty quickly, but the map takes several minutes to load (so you have a blue dot on a black grid, which is no help). I suspect this is partly due to the app connecting to the now included ads (I've used other map GPS apps at the same time and those maps load fine).
There has been increasingly slower map loadings in each subsequent release, which may be caused by "additional features" that the developer added (mark the ball, etc.). I don't want or need those features, just give me the ability to quickly get my yardage.
If the developer released a version in which you could select the features you want (say only yardage) and it performed as well as the first version, I would happily pay more than the current price of the app. As it is now, I will not try to use this app anymore.
I will start searching for a golf GPS app that loads quickly and gets me the info I want fast.. and I'll even pay for it if need be.

Works as I need it to...
I used this app for the first time today and I have to admit it does the trick. I use golfshot to track my scores but didn't feel I could justify spending 30 bucks for the gps version. I used both apps today while I played and found it worked out quite nicely. The best feature is that it let's you drop a marker for the actual distance...pretty good for a free app.

I don't usually write reviews but I must. This app is incredible!!!!! Found it just prior to tee time and soooo glad I did! Yardage was precise on every hole. No need to guess where to hit if unfamiliar with the course. Works with google maps for any course on the planet for free!! Drop a pin by bunkers or water hazards to see continual distance. I was very impresses and amazed!!! Loaded fast and instant spool up from standby on my iphone4. Great job.

Multiple Uses!
Awesome golf tool! SImple and elegant. No BS setup , no wondering if your course is in it and no mapping. Look at the arial image and drop the marker pin where you want he ball to land....or not to land! Get distance to water hazzards, sand traps, and grass bunkers. Makes a great range finder for shooting sports too! I use it to dial in yardage on prarie dogs and to see how far away that great shot was. This app is a total winner!
