Love new AR feature. Best Apple Watch app!
Update to my previous 5 star review. This is the most functional golf app...for Apple Watch and stand alone on iPhone. I leave my iPhone in the golf bag...and play 18 holes with 50% power left on Series 3 Watch and hardly any lost iPhone charge. Getting competent using hazards yardage on Watch. For those out of the rough save shots, the iPhone display is easy and fastest method to figure where to hit. Brilliant idea to keep hitting circle stationary and let map scroll underneath. The Club Recommendations is very useful. I like that I can add players on the fly, GHIN link and email scorecard. CS has been good. Shot tracking from Watch is a big plus! First I didn’t think AR feature was more than a gimmick; but I now see its usefulness especially with a blind flag situation. A cool option that gives a nice visual on the course...well I guess I’ll take the iPhone out of the bag more, but overall I normally have to use only my watch... which speeds the game, with less obvious use of my actual phone( most people don’t realize I’m using an iPhone!) I tried Swing by Swing, Hole 19, 18 Birdies, Track my Golf, InfoTalkGPS, The Grint, GolfNow...GolfShot Plus AR is the BEST. PS: I am now used to and accepting the color coded Birdie, Bogey scoring system 😊 all good!

Best Customer Service Ever!!!
I’ll be honest, I haven’t even had a chance to use the app — I’ll write a separate review when I do. I am giving 5 stars to Golfshot for its amazing customer service! When I initially downloaded my home course to the app, I was dismayed to find that major course changes made years ago (e.g. renumbering the holes) were not reflected in the app. Additionally, the course was incorrectly identified as a 9-hole course, and only 1 set of tee boxes was given (there are 5). These errors made the app unusable at my course. I contacted customer service, but was not hopeful, thinking this would take months to get straightened out, if ever. I got an email back from Golfshot asking me to provide a picture of a current score card, and a screenshot from Google maps of an overhead view of the course, with the needed changes indicated. I sent them the images, and in less than 30 minutes they had everything updated and corrected, and I was able to see the changes in the app! That is awesome!!!! I can’t wait to get to the course and try it out! Thank you Golfshot for being so responsive!

I used to love this app, don’t use auto-advance feature
I used to love Golfshot. Unfortunately, it’s become much harder for me to recommend it for my friends. The key feature that is ruining the experience is the auto-advance feature. I turned it on and I had a very poor experience. The app started auto-advancing to the next hole while I was still standing on the green of the current hole. So, when I opened the app to put in my score, I had to be sure to back track the app to the current hole. Before I realized this was happening, I kept skipping holes on my score card and giving myself incorrect scores for the hole the app thought I was on. Let’s not even get into the frustrations I felt when I was in the rough of the current hole, which auto-advanced me to the next hole and started giving me distances to the wrong green!
All this is fair enough, right? It’s a buggy feature, just turn it off, right? You would be WRONG!! I turned the feature off in settings and it continued to auto-advance using GPS location. So the app is constantly and frequently showing me information for a hole I’m not playing. It’s very frustrating and it needs to be fixed. I cleared a green with my sand wedge by 30 yards the other day because I had the wrong distance. The app just can’t be trusted.

Excellent Golf GPS and shot tracking
I’ve used Golfshot exclusively for 8 years. GPS distances are extremely accurate, scoring is seamless, use ability is great. The Apple Watch integration with auto shop t tracking is fantastic. It’s great being able to track all of your swings and see how far the ball is traveling.
A couple of things to work on: the handicap posted on the front page does not differentiate between a negative and plus handicap. In the equipment section, it would be great to more easily see how far the average distance is for each club based on the auto shot tracking. Currently, it shows a distance if you were to edit for manual distance, instead of the average of your tract shots, this is very annoying since the whole point of tracking shots is to be able to get this information at a glance.
Overall great app experience, and worth every penny.

Let the buyer beware
Don’t be too enamored with the AR function that looks really neat on the advertisement to purchase PLUS. Purchasing PLUS will not get you what they show you - it will not be available to you as shown unless you give them more money to add PRO beyond your PLUS purchase price. What the AR function gives you with PLUS is nothing more than you will already have. So the AR component is a waste with simply PLUS. They don’t tell you that in the ad. They only reel you in with it. I bit the hook because I like what I saw about the AR function but was duped by the neat ad, thinking naturally that I would get what they showed me. Only now I am told that to get the full function I will need to pay more. You would thing a reputable company would tell you that up front. Not these guys! Beware - don’t buy this thinking you’ll get the AR as shown like I did. Very disappointed in their lack of up front disclosure. The rest of the program is fine but no better than other apps that do the same thing. The tie breaker for me was the AR function which I did not actually get as advertised. Shame on you guys.

Worth every penny.
I’ve used other popular golf apps since I’ve started playing golf and this by far is my absolute favorite. I DO NOT play a round without it. It’s yardage is accurate. It’s interface is simple and easy to use and I absolutely love the compatibility with the Apple Watch. It was a game changer. My favorite feature is the track shot. I can track all my shots and the app automatically gives me average overall distance for every club. And when you hit a great drive with your buddies you can show them exactly how far they go. And last their customer service is amazing. When I had an issue they got back to me very quickly and worked closely with me until the issue was resolved. As long as I play golf I WILL use this app. Keep up the great work Golfshot!

My Personal Caddie
I love using this app in concert with my Apple Watch. I played a small course in Ireland recently that was not in the app’s database, and found myself glancing at my watch for the distance. I was able to send support the scorecard and photos from the course’s flip-chart guide. Within a few days the course was added! They also added/renamed another course in Ireland that I knew well in advance that I would be playing. The app is fantastic, and the service is extraordinary. Nothing else I’ve tried comes close. I do have the Pro version and it’s worth every dollar. I have only one request, and that’s to export the “flyover” track shot video. It’s fun to watch, but when I have a great hole, like a Birdie on a par 5, I’d love to share with friends.

Best Value Golf GPS Yardage App
Several years ago my “techie” golf partner introduced me to Golfshot Classic, which evolved into Golfshot Plus(+) as it is called now. Works great on every course I’ve played, accurate, easy to read yardages and, which I especially liked, just a one-time cost and that’s it. Golfshot also offers a more robust version called Golfshot Pro, with a lot more features - also reasonably priced- but I only needed the yardages, so I’m sticking with Golfshot + for now. I highly recommend this golf app. BTW, I’m a 14 handicap. A couple of my golf league buddies use Garmin GPS golf yardage watches, etc. and my Golfshot + is every bit as accurate as theirs at a quarter of the cost. Finally, when I got a new iPhone, the Golfshot app easily migrated to the new phone, too. I love my Golfshot+ - can you tell?

Great app...great team
I’ve been using this app for some time. I’ve been with it while it’s gone from a really good GPS app to a first class golf management tool. It keeps my handicap, it gives me AR views of the course, as well as flyovers of each hole. It tracks my swings, clubs, and gives me a full range of statistics. I’ve also contacted the folks at Golfshot on multiple occasions, and they couldn’t have worked harder to help me out. As I just passed 600 rounds captured on the app, it saves every one so that I can look back at rounds that I’ve played with friends. It has many other features I can’t list here, so I wouldn’t ever think of switching to another GPS app. If you’re looking for a full-feature golf management tool AND GPS app, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Great multi-use App
I have been using this app for years. Mostly at first for the GPS feature when playing. Accurate to the accuracy of my I-Phone’s gos. Now I track shot lengths per club and rounds per course. Once distance put in, it will help suggest club to use. Distances can be historic by tracking or manually entered per club. As a club builder and the owner of 3 name brand sets and 3 non-branded sets, I also track my clubs as they load all the club varieties into their software. So what I have in my bag or have retired are available. I have even worked with there group to add non-branded clubs to their list. Very easy group to work with and very pleased with their responses.
