I love this app. I (try to) use it almost every day. I’ve had every iteration of this app for years and years. Fir a quick and dirty, and even semi quality green screen solution, the engine itself is really pretty good. But all iterations have been sloppy and buggy and this one is the worst. Maybe things work intermittently or not at all. Documentation is mediocre at best. With this version, if there’s a way to simply download the backgrounds, I can’t for the life of me figure it out. That means every time you want to access a background or even the list, u must wait for the dev’s server, and very, very often it’s down, like 50% of the time. I’ve made my living with chroma key for twenty years. To do it well takes time and work. This app is just fine for when neighbor kids come over and want to mess around. Except that very, very often those sessions get cancelled because we can’t download (again and again and again and again). People get tired of waiting and go home. Lots and lots of hangs and crashes and don’t ask me the specific device because it’s the same on all our iOS devices. I paid $10 for this. I don’t want my money back. I’d pay WAY more if it worked reliably. I’ve stopped playing with it by about 90%. But I’ll keep trying in hopes the bugs get worked out. Given the history of all these iterations, however, I’m not hopeful. The dev has a great idea and the keying engine itself isn’t bad for a phone app. But the rest of the execution is really pretty awful. Maybe the dev can find a much better coder and dictate to that person what they want. This app can completely dominate all chroma key phone and tablet apps if only it would work smoothly and reliably. If the dev can’t get it right, someone will see the hole in the market and pass him by at lightning speed. I’ll continue to support gs wizard in all it’s forms, but man, it needs to get more reliable, not less as the versions come out. I’m a retired photographer now. I have hundreds of thousands of images. I’d love to contribute some of them to expand this app’s library. But the app has to work first. IMO the dev needs to sit down and video tape as ten or twenty people struggle to use this app. Only then can he see where the bugs are. You can NOT bug test your own software, just like u can’t proof read your own writing. You must carefully watch stupid ppl use the app and fix every single problem they encounter. Here’s hoping this dev can get this going on a higher plane. I’m behind him.
