If you have old black and white negatives of relatively large size like I did that are 2.5" wide by 4" long, this is the product for you. I passed light through a white backing to illuminate each negative, and using the iPad camera option within the application, it snapped a perfect photo that inverted the image to make it positive. The pictures were sharp. There is a little box with an arrow in it at the top of the screen. Hit it, and you are given an array of options in which to save the image such as to print, to camera roll, to mail and etc. The other users are wrong, this product works very well for large format, black and white negatives. For small, 35 mm color negatives, the pictures come out washed out in the manner I took the other pictures. That is why the developer gives us an option to import a picture from the camera roll. So in this case, you need to have a negative scanner. In my opinion, it should work very well, because when I tired to import a positive picture from my camera roll, the colors were vibrant, but the image as you would expect was inverted to a negative.
So the bottom line is that if you have large format, or even medium format, old, black and white photographic negatives, and don't want to break your bank account, you will be very well pleased with this $2.99 App.
