Excuse me Mam/Sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and...

... I mean about our last update? The horrible one that crashed all the time when adding sets? Well here's the update we promised. Changes:

- the crashes are fixed, I repeat, the crashes are fixed, you can go back to your workouts!
- interface for logging sets completely rewritten (for speed and stability)
- fix runkeeper sync (please log out and in again)
- fixes the purchase button for plans
- fixes the "suggest a feature" function in the app

Please give it a go, and if this update is better than the last, we'd love to get your review in the app store. We had to take a good beating there in the last weeks, and would love some love :)
2.24
2018-09-24
- iOS 12 compatibility
- fix: some workouts could not be synced to healthkit
- fix: some workouts were not ordered chronologically
- fix: share button now larger than 2 pixels
- fix: crashes for some users when restoring purchases

2.23
2018-04-14
Fixes the statistics screen on iOS 11.3
2.22
2017-11-29
Fixes the bug where when adding an exercise it looked like another exercise got overwritten. If you still encounter this or any other bug, *please* contact us via the community button in the app and we'll help you right away! Apart from the bug fixes, this update brings a bunch of improvements as well:

- Brings back old stopwatch behaviour where it always automatically starts running when you open it
- Streamlines the sharing options: instead of integrating code from other companies like facebook, twitter and instagram that helps share workouts to social networks we use the sharing methods from iOS. This way these companies can't collect your Gym Hero usage data.
- Improved Runkeeper connection

Thanks for reading, thanks for updating and thanks for using the app! And remember that we're always just one tap away: try the in app community where you can reach us directly.

2016? Let's move on! This release features a comprehensive, searchable EXERCISE DATABASE with instructions, pictures and detailed muscle groups. Look up a specific exercise or browse around to get some workout variation inspiration (that's a thing!). You can add exercise straight to your workout from the exercises database, or you can continue just typing in your own names for exercises. Best of both worlds! Oh, and the progress pics you take in the app are now backed up to your camera roll. And we fixed the bug that didn't allow you to take progress pics. And we have some killer training plans for you to conquer 2017 and be in the shape of your life for summer!

Thanks for reading, we'll be back very soon with more features. Remember you can vote which feature we should implement next by going to gymhero.uservoice.com (yeah that's right, even in 2017 you got to go vote).

Have a question? We respond within 24hours, you can send us a message directly from the app or on facebook and twitter. Have fun with this update and a great 2017, Jannik & Jannis.

- Fixed that some people couldn't open exercises anymore (SORRY)
- Fixed display of active energy in Apple Health
- Fixed sharing of progress pics
- Some bug fixes under the hood

If you can't share your workout pictures to facebook anymore: This happens when you have the facebook app installed. Facebook recently decided to not let apps prepopulate a status update for the user, neither with text nor with an image. The only solution for now would be to first save your workout summary/progress pic to your photo gallery with Gym Hero, and then select that photo in the facebook sharing dialog. There's nothing we can do - it's a policy from facebook that they recently started enforcing.

We know you take selfies. It's ok. We all do. Here's Gym Hero 2.3, the selfie edition.

But let's call them PROGRESS PICS, alright?

After every workout you now have the possibility to grab a quick picture and overlay it with some statistics of your workout. You can take pictures to document your visual progress by taking a selfie, or you can just share a quick photo of your workout right to instagram, facebook, or whereever you wish. Not enough? Cool, cool... Here's a list of the other new things in this release:

- Made the workouts list load a LOT faster
- Searchable workout history (this is a lot cooler than it sounds, especially if you've been using the app for a while)
- Device won't go to sleep while you're logging a workout and when the timer is active
- Made the timer look slick (and readable from a distance)
- Indicate how many planned workouts exist

Good stuff? No?? Yes??? I you like what we do please leave us a positive review on the app store or update your existing review. This would really support us! Thanks!

What? Another update? Wasn't Gym Hero 2.0 just released? Yes it was. And here is:

Gym Hero 2.2 the "we hear you" release:

- We made the start screen nicer and painted some walls
- In the workout summary, you see last time's performance for each set
- FIXED: receipt validation for 'restore purchases'
- FIXED: workout note was missing in summary of finished workouts
- FIXED: keyboard overlapping exercise name list
- FIXED: occasional errors in statistics screen

Tip of hat to Shekhar for helping us out with Gym Hero 2.0 In case you're still on Gym Hero 1, here's what was new

*** GYM HERO 2.0 ***
Boom shakalaka! Here's Gym Hero 2.0 and it's a free upgrade. First we fixed the crashes then we added this cool new stuff:

New overall design:
------------------------
We focused on making the app easier to understand, easier to use and more pleasant to look at. Basically, we took out the trash and cleaned the whole place up.

Performance:
---------------
We made the app so super blazing fast that even on an iPhone 4S with iOS 7 it's a pleasure to use. No worries though, we've got you covered for anything from the iPhone 6+ to iOS 9.

Workout summary card:
----------------------------
After each completed workout, you'll get a summary card highlighting the key metrics of your workout. There’s also a heat map of your body that shows which muscle groups you've trained in that workout. These cards look so good you'll want to share them to your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or even send them to your friends via WhatsApp. Luckily, you can do this right in the app.

New workout logging screen:
----------------------------------
Oh boy, remember the spinners to enter your workouts? They're gone. We came up with a unique keypad based solution that still has both the smarts and the convenience factor of the old, trusted system. You can still log the WHOLE WORKOUT with A SINGLE THUMB and it's even easier than before.

New exercise/workout name finder:
-------------------------------------------------
We revamped the way you pick exercise or workout names. Now, we'll present you with an alphabetical list of all names you've used so far whenever you need to name something. Typing two or three letters instantly slims down the list to names matching your search. This autocomplete is the fastest way to enter names. Personally, I actually enjoy entering names like this, but that might just be me.

Planned workout section:
-----------------------
We know that some of you like to plan workouts ahead, so we added a workout scheduler. The new “Planned workouts” section then collects all workouts that are not marked as finished or are scheduled for a future date.

Startup crash fixed:
-------------------
Last but not least! A lot of you suffered from a bug where the app would crash right after starting. We’re very sorry. That bug was extremely hard to reproduce (none of our test devices had it). We even met with a couple of our users to hook up their phones to our laptop and see the bug in its natural habitat.

That bug is now squashed. Sorry it took so long. We’re just two guys doing this in our spare time and we’re kind of lacking spare time since we both became daddies. If you gave us a bad review in the App Store because of the crash, that’s cool - but it would absolutely rock if you could update your review if you like this version :)

Stargate Pioneer,
My Go-To Gym App
I’ve been tracking my gym sessions with this app for 6 years now (Since October, 2012). I’ve been extremely happy overall with the capability and evolving interface. It never changes too much so I do not know how to operate it when updated but it is updated and supported. I’m older so I do not go to the gym for bodybuilding but I do go to the gym three times a week to maintain flexibility, muscle mass and to prevent injury. This app has helped so much in that goal. Whenever I travel I’m able to keep track of the equipment at the gyms I use in different places so I don’t have to reset and figure out how much weight I did last time. I can also track over time when I’ve increased too fast and was injured. This app has helped keep me active and progressing. Thank you for this app and what it has enabled me to do for the past 6 years.
plnkfloydian,
One of the best fitness apps I’ve used
Have nothing but great things to say about this app. Everything is simple and well laid out. From the rest timer to the workout notes I thoroughly enjoy using this app to track my routines. If there was one thing I could change it would be, being able to save a specific routine and when I next run that routine have the “previous workout” reference that one specific workout. Because as of right now it doesn’t reference a specific routine but the exercise itself. I’d like to be able to have separate Heavy and Light routines that use the same exercises but since the “last time” feature references the exercise itself, on my light days I get the number for my heavy days and vice versa.
birdhouseboardman,
This app is pure tracking
The devs have done an excellent job creating an app that keeps track of MY routines. While they offer many different in-app purchases of their routines, the focus of this app is in generating your own tracking. So many different lifts. Integrates into Apple health perfectly. I’ve been using this app since 2015 and it’s only improved. For the Devs: Is there any plan to update/modernize the UI?
Commdoor,
Great app…until you have a problem!
Got this in July 2016. Served the purpose well for 6 months. Then it started acting erratic on my iPhone 6s. Couldn't enter sets and/or reps without backing out of it several times and restarting the app. Frustrating, to say the least, when you were doing supersets. Got an iPhone 7…same exact problem. Emailed support, no response. Emailed again, was told I was the only one "complaining" about it and to be more specific. Sent a very detailed email outlining it step-by-step…no reply. Then same problem started happening on my wife's iPhone. Emailed again…was then told to back up everything, delete the app, and reinstall. This was happening on 3 DIFFERENT phones so that would have been pointless. Had to dump this one, got another one that works perfect and does everything exactly as it should. And they reply to emails!. Customer service does exist...just not here. Good luck if you use this one.
brendobm,
Beginner
I started my health journey with nothing but a idea and this app. This app has followed me through since the begging. After 10 months of non stop use I love the app. It has a spot for not to track my runs and all theexcursize I enter they have. It also remembers your work outs so you don’t have to re-type them! I highly recommend this app the any level of excursive enthusiast
pastorgains,
Customization
This app is terrific for keeping track of all my workouts. I use it every single time I work out. And after my work out, I send a CSV file to my computer (which is a feature of this app) and track my progress using Microsoft Excel. This app has been incredibly helpful in tracking my gains and allowing me to see progress in a variety of different ways -- thanks to the versatility of being able to upload it to my computer.
Csteep5dach,
Only fitness tracking app I’ll ever use!
I’ve been logging my workouts ever since I started working out constantly at age 17. I’m 41 now so I was used to old school hand writing in a workout journal. I found this is January 2014 and have never once had a complaint! Hopefully I have plenty of more years continuing to do so!
MattSwole,
Best workout app...
Been using Gym Hero for about 8 months, had another app but it crashed. This app is great, any little glitch fixes when close and reopen app. With latest update probably won’t be an issue.

Love the way you can schedule workouts, and how app will pre-populate workouts, great when tracking progress.

Keep up great work, highly recommend!!!
Crispyds,
Fixed! Great App!!
After a buggy transition to iOS 12 it appears they have rewritten this app from the ground up and it’s working perfectly again. The timer feature is great but could use a count down with an alert. I’d also like a calendar view like I had in a previous app and a way to track BMI, body markers, etc.
Hzirkabcywj,
Does the Job, But...
This app keeps good track of workouts, and it allows you to plan your own workouts. It also has a database of exercises with good descriptions of form with an short animation and text.
I wish these 2 aspects of the app were more well integrated though. There’s a lot of tapping going on to see the descriptions, when I’d rather just be lifting. This is a short term problem though. Once I learn the forms, it will be meeting my needs just fine.
