Description

The Halo Sport app controls the Halo Sport headset, which is a wearable neurostimulator that accelerates improvements in skill, power, and endurance when paired with training. Halo Sport works by stimulating the motor cortex of the brain during training, resulting in stronger, more optimized signaling between the brain and muscles. Every day, thousands of athletes, musicians, gamers, military professionals, and others train with Halo Sport to more rapidly develop muscle memory. Learn more about Halo Sport below or visit haloneuro.com.

WHAT IS NEUROPRIMING

With the Halo Sport app, users can choose from three different Neuropriming sessions: (1) Legs, Core, & Arms, (2) Hand & Fingers - Right Emphasis, and (3) Hand & Fingers - Left Emphasis. According to the selected session, Halo Sport’s foam Primers electrically stimulate specific areas of the motor cortex to induce a temporary state of hyperplasticity. Pairing the resulting hyperplastic brain state with training reps leads to more more precise, coordinated, and explosive movement — whichever is the focus of the user’s training. You can read more about Neuropriming at blog.haloneuro.com/neuroscience.

WHO IS USING HALO SPORT

In professional sports, teams and athletes from the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and Olympics are all using Halo Sport to improve athleticism. For example, a double-blind, placebo-controlled study with the U.S. Olympic Ski Team found that ski jumpers who trained with Halo Sport increased propulsive force by an additional 13% and jump smoothness by an additional 11% over the control group after ten consecutive training days. You can see more examples of athletes and musicians training with Halo Sport at youtube.com/c/HaloNeuroscience.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND HALO SPORT

The underlying science behind Halo Sport is called transcranial direct current stimulation (“tDCS”). tDCS is backed by more than a decade of neuroscience research—3,000 peer-reviewed articles covering over 105,000 sessions speak to the technology’s safety and efficacy. In addition, Halo Neuroscience’s team of doctors, scientists, and engineers built Halo Sport according to medical-grade specifications, and successfully tested the device on more than 1,400 volunteers. Read more about the science of tDCS at haloneuro.com/science.

HOW TO USE HALO SPORT

For best results, use Halo Sport during a 20-minute warm-up prior to focused, movement-based training. Simply saturate the Primers with water, put on Halo Sport like any other pair of headphones, and use the Halo Sport app to initiate a 20-minute Neuropriming session. After the 20-minute session ends, take off the headset (or leave it on to listen to music) and continue training. Your brain remains in a hyperplastic state for 60 minutes—use this time to perform high-quality, high-intensity reps.

Fogbert,
Great, when it works
Very difficult to maintain contact through a complete session. Needs improvement.
(Response to developers comment follows)
When you contact support you get the same set of instructions, over and over. ( as repeated here) Do you think I’m a moron? I preordered this product and have had it since first wave of shipments.

I’ve read the instructions and followed them carefully, still cuts out 3-7 times per neuropriming session. Your product is awesome. However, it is flawed, now the nibs are breaking up. Fix it
Sylvie Honest Review,
Works sometimes
This is a terribly inconsistent device. It’ll have a hard time getting good contact for no reason. I can literally have water running down my face it’s so soaking and have both hands pressing the band to my skull and it’ll have moments of ‘having a hard time getting a good connection’ get stuck at 99% and then finally restart - all while I have not moved or changed anything at all whatsoever. I literally am as physically still as I could ever be as a living breathing being.

I would never recommend this device to anyone nor would I ever risk moving let alone working out while using it. However, assuming the claims of hyper plasticity are true it’s still worth me suffering through it even if it’s rather terrible in every other aspect.

Also, the sound quality is not good on the headphones.
X3D_LifeGrapher,
Audio only after working just fine
I bought Halo2 after hearing about it on Dave Asprey's podcast in the fall 2019. After a couple months and an iOS update to my iPhone XMax, my Halo2 connects Audio only. I downloaded the app on my wife's iPhone X and my son's iPhone 11 to see if the audio only Bluetooth connection existed. The Halo2 connected to the app on those iPhones for audio and neuro. There are a few prime band nibbles with the gray rubber torn , exposing the black plastic ends underneath.
FireFlier7,
Not really impressed.
I’ve had the Halo2 for about a year. It has always been difficult to get “good contact”. And I virtually no hair to speak of top of my head. I tried for many weeks to get something out of this product and gave up. I attempted using the product again over the past two weeks. The neuroprimimg process is till as frustrating as it ever was. 4-6 attempts soaking the electrode nibs, wetting my scalp, etc... This Halo 2 starts and stops dozens of times during each neuropriming session. If I take a bandana and strap it over the headset and below my chin, I can get reasonable contact, but it becomes painful after 10-15 minutes. So far, not impressed.
Aummann58,
50 going on 40
Turned 50 last November, since I got the Halo Sport 2, I feel like I’m getting younger. I’m able to push the pace more and more, have lost body fat in the lower back that I thought would never go away at 50 years old. Just keep getting after it and feeling better than a 40 year old.
whejfogoebwvudog,
I wish this worked
My first headset had a problem and it was replaced by the company. The new headset also has problems. As everyone else mentions, getting connection is problematic. My head is currently soaking wet as I’m trying to get good connection. Neuropriming begins and immediately stops giving a loud beeping sound into my ears, no way to turn it down. As a musician, the amount of water that drips down from this headset is problematic since it drips into my instruments. I wish this worked. The promise of this technology is amazing, the reality is disappointing. I’m not wealthy and this was a big expense. Halo sport, please offer a solution
Timor2012,
Great when they work
I LOVE them....when they work. Constantly pausing during the priming session. I even tried wetting my head before soaking the prongs and putting them in my head. Still lose contact. And it can easily take up to 5 minutes to get good contact again. I have yet to have a solid 20-minute priming session without it “pausing” at some point. And it doesn’t happen in the beginning of the session, usually around minute 9 or 13. Irritating! And for goodness sakes, invest some money into that app. Simplicity is nice, but really!?!?
chorlez,
Results come quick
Even using my halo sport for a few days I can already see difference in my performance, however I do have so complaints about how the app connects to the headset, even when Bluetooth says it’s connected, the app does not sense the headset and it takes me about 10 minutes to even set it up. Despite this, I can’t argue with the progress I’ve made
ChasejSa,
Halo Primer keeps dropping contact
I really liked these at the start, but lately it’s been very frustrating. Like many, I have an awful time with connection and the primer band. Drops and reconnects literally every 3 seconds. My real issue is lack of support. Multiple unanswered emails and just automated replies saying they are behind. It doesn’t take 3 weeks to get a simple answer or even the courtesy of a reply. I give the headphones 4 stars and the customer support 1 Star (because I can’t give it a zero!).
Alpah1,
Great, when it works. But it doesn’t work!
Have to re pair after every use now. Sometimes twice. Sometimes it never re pairs, just the audio. Very disappointed in this company and these headphones. Since purchasing, they’ve been not functional longer than they have been. That equals a waste of money.

Downgraded to one star. Since last update ALWAYS pauses session after 1 second of “poor” connectivity. This is while holding both hands with headphones on my head, fully saturated primer with salt water and zero movement. Doesn’t work at all
