Three new volumes of puzzles (sorry for the delay for those who have asked!). These ones also have a range of new sizes, though similar difficulties. Also fixes some minor bugs (like white areas in dark mode in landscape on newer phones) and generally updates everything for the latest Apple iOS releases.

As always, email [email protected] if you have any questions or suggestions. We love to hear from you and respond promptly!
4.6.11

Faster "Back" and "Next Puzzle" buttons. iOS 15 fixes for transparent top bar and an errant separator line below stories. Removed the transition text below the clues explaining where the Clear button has moved to (tap Puzzle while playing a puzzle to re-read the story or clear the puzzle).

A new Zen Mode option hides all references to badges and hint counts. Clearing the board while playing is now easier to find (tap Puzzle then Clear). The clue area is now easier to scroll. Small tweaks include: badge explanations, moved hint count under Hint, improved the iPad main screen layout, improved dark mode support for iOS 13 and higher, fixed a rare crash.

All of these changes were inspired by customer suggestions and feedback. Thanks to all of you! Email me at [email protected] anytime, or use the Help – Contact Support option in the app. I love to hear from you and reply to every email.

Happy puzzling!

Improves row, column and label highlighting. If you tap a label, zoom and tap a cell, it will continue to highlight the row/column. This makes it easier to keep your place when the grid is zoomed and was a recent customer request (thanks!).

Email [email protected] anytime if you have questions or suggestions, or if you need help with a puzzle. Cheers, Michael

Improved the Story display and added an option to disable it showing automatically for every new puzzle. Added "No Hints" badges to the the Solved Puzzles list as a visual addition to the existing text. Random hints are better distributed across the grid. Fixes a badge color problem for iOS 12.

If you have questions or problems, tap Help – Contact Support in the app, or email [email protected], or find us on Facebook. Your suggestions make the app better for everyone. Happy puzzling, Michael.

Get Hint now suggests a cell even if no logical hints are available. Moves Restore Purchases to the bottom of the screen to separate it from the unrelated Hidden & Solved Puzzles links. Improves dark mode support for iOS 12.
4.3.6
2020-11-25
New puzzles are available for purchase: 3 volumes of 30 puzzles each. There are new features too! Now you can tap on a clue number to mark it as "in progress" (you can still separately tap on the text of a clue to mark it as done). The Story has been moved to a separate button so it's easier to scroll to the start of the clues while solving. There are also some small layout and formatting improvements and a couple of rare bugs were chased away.
4.3.0
2020-09-10
60 new puzzles available as 2 additional purchases from the "Add Puzzles" button. Also corrects some label ordering in the prior batch of 30 puzzles.
4.2.12
2020-08-04
Detects and provides hints for any unused "transpositions" on the board. These are a "mechanical" hint based solely on the current board position, but they are commonly overlooked and a useful aid to solving. (See the link the User Guide for solving logic puzzles and look for the Transpositions section for more information.) Also, an accidental tap of the Hint button will no longer cost a hint, and finally there is a new feature to report on mistakes without clearing them.

Tap Help – Contact Support to reach me with any questions, or email [email protected] directly. I love to hear from you.

Cheers, Michael

Recognizes solving "down the left" side of the grid as well as the existing "across the top". Fix a rare crash when updating from last year.

2020-05-01
Improved the typography of apostrophes (vs quotes). Fixed 4 broken puzzles in the recently added volumes 14 & 15. Hides the "Add Puzzles" button if all the puzzles have been purchased.

Use Help – Contact Support if you have questions or think there's a problem with a puzzle, or email a screenshot to [email protected]. I love to hear from you! Cheers, Michael

Puzzles can now be hidden. This is handy if you don't like certain topics, particular authors (or if the puzzle is just too hard or easy and you don't want to be reminded anymore!). Just swipe left on the puzzle in the list, or tap the new Edit button to hide several in one go. Thanks to customer "J" for this idea!

Fixed a bug where the bottom of the puzzle board was truncated if there was a message at the top of the screen for an in-progress phone call or active map guidance. Customer "K" was a great help reporting this and providing some screenshots that proved critical in tracking it down. Thank you!

Avid users will now be prompted occasionally to add or update a star rating (no more than 3 times a year). I hate to do this, but it's crucial to others finding us in the App Store, and Apple has made this far less annoying in the past year. If you feel the app is worth it, your five star rating makes a surprising difference to the bottom line and is much appreciated.

Tap Help – Contact Support if you have any requests, problems or questions. I'll respond promptly, and even help if you're stuck with a puzzle. (Or email [email protected])

Happy puzzling!

Cheers, Mike
2.1.1

Every puzzle now has an associated drawing. This adds some color and fun, as requested by several customers. "Swipe Left" on finished puzzles to clear them to play again, or tap Edit and select a group to replay. Started puzzles keep their place in the list instead of moving to the top, and the current puzzle is labeled.

We're excited about this release and hope you are too, because your suggestions inspired all of it. Thanks to Emily, Karina and Rudy for their help with selecting and working out how best to display the 370 pictures. It was a big job!

As always, we love to hear your suggestions and comments. Tap Help – Contact Support to reach us, or email [email protected]. I'll reply promptly.

Cheers, Mike

Improved "Add 30 Puzzles" purchasing after a customer reported a problem. If you're seeing errors when trying to purchase or restore purchases (e.g. on a new device), please use the Help - Contact Support link or email [email protected].

More improvements based on your feedback. Green circles replace checkmarks to make a crowded board easier to read. "Next Puzzle" now goes to the next in the list instead of the first new one, so if you've skipped earlier puzzles, you can quickly continue. We've improved moving a zoomed board so you get less accidental filled in squares. And, based on a couple of error emails you forwarded, we've made puzzle saving more robust.

As you can see, we take your feedback seriously! Contact us directly in the app, or email [email protected].

Thanks, Mike, Rudy & Karina @ Egghead Games
2.0.7
2018-06-08
Completely updated for the latest iPhones & iPads. This clean new design focuses on solving puzzles. The story and clues are always available, along with the updating solution table and hint count. Apple accessibility features like VoiceOver are now fully supported, as well as automatically using larger text sizes if enabled.

The puzzle list now neatly organizes all your puzzles in one place, instead of scattered across volumes. Pick a new puzzle, continue one you started, or clear and replay one you finished.

Purchasing puzzles is simpler. Just "Add 30 Puzzles" when you run low. Of course, all your prior purchases are still there and available to play.

We will continue to improve the app and would love to hear any suggestions or questions. Use the handy Help - Contact support option, or email us directly at [email protected].

Happy puzzling!

Zoe*s mom,
Challenging!
Updated updated review:
Found that if you sit in a quiet room with no distractions, the puzzles are easier to solve. These definitely are challenging puzzles, but helps to keep our brains actively thinking!

Updated review:
Great customer support. Like that this version doesn’t “time shame” you. Glad to be reminded of where check your answer icon is. Like the note section. It’s the way I would work solutions when solving the magazine versions. Would like a variety of challenges available in purchased puzzle packs (4x4, 4x5, etc.) or know what is being purchased. Sometimes the wording is not always clear whether the statement is true or should be eliminated. That is brain frustrating and my only real complaint now that developer has responded.

Previous review:
Hard to follow. Not easy to check whether answers are right or wrong and erase wrong answers because no buttons to check that as with previous version. Not as much fun. Guess I will stick with my Quick Logic version and erase & replay and/or work daily puzzles. 👎
Cheesyg,
Terribly worded puzzles
After completing all of the free puzzles in a similar game, it recommended I download this one and at first glance the two apps are identical, so I imagine they’re made by the same folks. I thought I’d enjoy it as much as the original app I played on. I was wrong. The clues for the puzzles in this app are terribly written and worded, in my honest opinion. An example is:
“Rhonda has twice as many years of experience as the one surnamed Trebble (who isn’t Tina), who has more experience than the one who plays the trumpet.”

It’s still possible to figure out what they’re trying to say, but then I hit a point where my usual methods of solving seem to fail me and I feel like I’ve missed something in the poorly worded clues. When I finally lose patience and decide to use a hint, it only says “mark the highlighted square as false” but doesn’t explain why. I didn’t need to use hints in the other app except I think maybe one or two times when I was first starting to play, but from what I recall the hints explain why you are marking a square a certain way. I don’t want you to just give me the answer with no explanation, I want you to explain what I missed.
CobwebHDC,
Much different from “Logic Puzzles”
This is an update to my previous review. I had correspondence with the developer which cleared up some issues I was having, and for that my rating has improved dramatically.
This Logic Problems app game is very different from Logic Puzzles. It has a different style and feel; the clues are sometimes a puzzle in themselves. Both games give a round of puzzles for free, you can try before you buy. Personally, I do not care for the style in this “Logic Problems” game. That said, the games are proofed by the puzzle supplier and other people are able to complete them - they are just too difficult for me and I find them frustrating, even at lower difficulty levels than on the “Puzzles” app.
I would also like to retract my previous statement that the developer had removed my poor review of his app. Developers are unable to do this.
So, if you enjoy this type of brain teaser I would say give it a shot, it’s a free trial, you only have to pay if you enjoy it and want more.
BklynSprngWtr,
Poorly written puzzles
Deleting this. Would be fun if the Logic puzzles were, well, logical! These types of puzzles have to be carefully written and double checked to provide clues and make sense with each other and the story. That is literally the basis for it. So why on one game where you have to figure out where all the cats nap in their owners home, how old they are and how long he’s had them does the story say he hasn’t owned any cats for longer than they’ve been alive, but the age of starts at 3yrs old while the categories in the grid allow for him to have owned some of the cats for only 1 or 2 years?
This is just an exercise in frustration when the information being provided has not been double and triple checked for accuracy! You’re supposed to be able to rely on the information being provided, not have to wonder if it’s wrong. The point isn’t to trick people into failing with half-truths. Anyone who’s ever taken the LSAT knows how well properly and infallibly written these games can and need to be to solve them.
Thegreatmanda,
Bought Vol 1 and wish I hadn’t.
These puzzles are not well written. Look elsewhere.
The writing is clumsy and can seem unclear

More importantly, there is a lot of incorrect or broken information in the clues and hints.
Every puzzle I’ve worked in Vol 1 so far will get down to a couple of options which would both fit the available spaces left, and all of the clues given. Three times now, I’ve tried using a hint in this situation, and had the same experience: a vague statement that “the green cells indicate the highlighted cell should be marked false”, with no observable logical relationship for that assertion and no further explanation provided. I go with what it says anyway and proceed to finish the puzzle, and it gives the message about being finished, but there are still some mistakes. I use the hint that removes mistakes, and all the final moves - INCLUDING the one directly stated in the previous hint - are cleared.
CaemBoy,
Notes would help
Overall a great app. I have solved almost every puzzle, and would love to have more. The puzzles I haven’t solved all use hints that aren’t categories in the grid. They can be useful, but not without drawing pictures or making notes somehow. I often resort to taking a screenshot and printing it to figure these out.
It would be VERY helpful to be able to write these notes on the screen. Examples: 1) some puzzles have times, but many clues are in # of minutes. I'd like to write the elapsed time above each category 2) some clues require figuring out the sex of the characters; the ability to write M or F next to the name would eliminate having to re-do clues if I forget who’s who.
Tbad100,
So fun!
This is comically challenging for me. I’m constantly saying to myself “it’s ok, you’re good at other things in life” ... but that’s part of the fun in learning new things. Once I read the answer I feel better and excited to try to think through the clues differently. I think it would be cool if some of the answers had another layer of hand holding to help guide me through solutions a little more, and how I can think differently through areas where I probably got stuck.
Orange rocks!,
I’ve been looking for this!
Ive always loved logic puzzles and I’ve been looking for some that make me think. I’ve downloaded different apps but never liked the layout and features, however this one is very user friendly and is my new and only go to. I love that i can check my answers as i go and the clues were just enough to get your board started but i had to use a lot of actual logic to really solve it. I’ve enjoyed it so far!
silverbelle2,
Show dogs isn’t written with enough nor the correct clues
I believe “Show Dogs” is written poorly. I tried it several days in a row, to see if it was just my lack of concentration. I’ve done over 70 puzzles of various difficulty and finished all of them within 24 hours. This one never made complete sense. Please have an editor look it over again.
I'll Be FameISH,
no explanations for hints
these problems are certainly challenging, however the opportunity to learn and improve logical reasoning skills is limited. unlike in the logic puzzles app by the same developer, this one does not provide guidance with the hints; the hints just tell you what to do in a cell without a rationale that you can learn strategy from. at some point, most people will hit a wall no matter how much they try to figure out why a move is warranted beyond the ones they reason through on their own. in my case, i felt helpless and abandoned the puzzle and, eventually, the app as a whole, because i had hit a point of diminishing returns — which is a shame because i was reallyyyy enjoying the greater challenge these puzzles pose over the logic puzzles app. this one also offers fewer puzzles in the free starter pack. would love to see some updates!
