Description

Harry's LapTimer is the advanced tool for car enthusiast. It records all types of sensor data provided by your iPhone/iPod/iPad (or external sensors), combines them, and makes them available to optimize your drive. Over time, you will get insights on your car and in your driving, not known before.

LapTimer offers more than 1300 predefined tracks world wide. With its assistants, it is extremely easy to setup - just click your track and drive. It fully automates your lap timing using GPS, and presents the results to all kinds of media.

You are not limited to track driving only. For example, you may define your home and working locations as a 'track', collect statistics on different ways chosen, and analyze / optimize the time used every day.

Want to show your drive to your friends? LapTimer Petrolhead and above generates beautiful in car video recordings with all kinds of data overlaid, ready to be presented - e.g. on youtube. Even without video, recorded data can be analyzed using purpose designed views, making it easy to analyze and improve your driving performance.

Using online racing, you can use LapTimer in competition. LapTimer offers a Hall of Fame, allows watching you and your friends on track - all in real time. Compare your sector times, braking / acceleration points, and learn from each other.

You can start with your plain iPhone in the beginning and add external GPS and OBD II sensors later, step by step, and as you need it. LapTimer itself comes in three different editions: LapTimer Rookie is the entry level with all you need for lap timing; LapTimer Petrolhead is the advanced version including lots of video features, and LapTimer Grand Prix is the edition for professionals including Multi Cam recording, Health Kit integration, and advanced sensor and analytics functionality.

Please note that functionality depends on your device, the LapTimer edition chosen, and sometimes even external sensors added (like OBD II). Please visit our web page to get the full story. All edition can be upgraded later, all editions come with native iPhone and iPad support.

There are quite expensive stand alone solutions for track days available. Be smart and own the leading edge tool simply by using your iPhone and LapTimer. Besides the professional area, there is no known solution that offers more functionality than LapTimer does - across the market. As our ambition is to offer the best tool, LapTimer is enhanced continuously.

Jee-jee77,
Complete app for experts
I have been using this app for almost two years now. It takes some time to set it up and learn to use it but after that it does everything. Now it looks like the app hasn't been updated in a long time and the video import doesn't work well anymore. I tried to do the usual, but the app can't show the video properly and finally crashes. I have iOS 13.3.1. Apple might have changed something in iOS that makes the app not work well. Update to the app is definitely needed.
BDS911,
Garbage App
The short version: This app is garbage, over complicated, counterintuitive, doesn’t work as advertised and constantly freezes/crashes. Don’t waste your time or money on it.

The long version: There is a 29 page pdf on their website that only deals with syncing up video. It is outdated, over complicated and should be simplified. It references apps to use for multiple cameras that are no longer available. After reading the exhaustive instructions because the app itself is not at all user friendly nor is it easy to figure out, I took some test drives with it and my GoPros. The app would either freeze up or crash, multiple times, resulting in me having to pull over and reset everything each time. When I finally recorded some decent video from all three cameras, I was unable to sync the videos together with data overlay. I came back later to try again and the app says that it can not locate the videos. This app is a huge waste of time and money. I would not recommend this to anyone.
M3clubracer,
Very comprehensive but adding video…?
This app is great, comprehensive and analytical. I wanted to use it to insert telemetry into a video and it is NOT intuitive nor remotely easy as RaceChrono Pro and it was difficult! I probably won’t be using.
GotThrottle,
Does it all
Been using the App for several years and it packs a ton of capability into your hands. It does require some trial and error and dedication to learn how to use properly, so that will deter some, but for those that want data and video overlay in a tight little package this is the best I’ve found. Harry’s support and updates are top notch!
Monotak,
Great Lap Timer
You get more with this App than what you pay for. The only thing missing is a Desktop application to sync it to so overlaying videos is much much easier. Hopefully that could happen one day. But for now I love being able to see lap times and the data that goes along with it.
DGatzby,
Support is terrible
Harry’s Forum don’t work. Can’t login, can’t register, can’t contact an administrator! Therefore updated info is hard to get. Harry has not updated the app to use the most recent GOPro 9’s. It is impossible to know if a $400 purchase will work unless we try. No thanks Harry, keep it, we will move on to more responsive application developers.
Babakweber,
It takes some time to learn the app !
Extremely complicated and freezing all the time, but the developers really good and he responds to everybody on his Facebook page it means he cares about costumers!!!
G92648,
Worth the investment
Works great and reliable
Could use some interface design update to look less like it was "built in the garage by a dude"😉
overall great value 👍
Makes track days feel like MotoGP

Update - still awesome. Updates and improvements keep rolling.
Arman87,
Doesn’t work
Never works, out of 10 track days this thing worked twice. Waste of Money very complicated
DRW_IPSC,
Waste off money
Anyone thinking of buying this app do yourself a favor and don’t!! It is a complete waste of money!!
