You are invited to join the Healthy Oregon Project (HOP) – a research study that combines genetic cancer screening, using a saliva sample, with surveys about a person’s environment, behaviors, and lifestyle to understand their risks for cancer and other diseases.
With this app you can:
- Review the study information and consent to participate
- Complete surveys about your health habits and environment to aid us in early detection research and allow us to follow your health for as long as you choose to participate
- Find out where and how to donate a saliva sample for genetic screening
- View your genetic screening results, which are provided at no cost, and will identify whether your DNA indicates a risk for certain inheritable diseases.
- Get updates about the study and health resources
We anticipate enrolling more than 100,000 people in the study. Feel free to share this app with your friends and family. Any adult living in Oregon or SW Washington may join. Initial funding for this project comes from the Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research Center (CEDAR), a part of the Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) Knight Cancer Institute.

Reset passwors not working
I downloded and finished all the serveys? Except to acknowledged receiving the sample. For some reason it did not take my password, so I tried to reset it. But I never receive any instruction email at all. I tried with all of my other emails just in case I use different email, but still no email received.

Login / Password problems - will lose study participants
Like others, I also experienced login / password issues upon returning to the app after the initial login and survey completions. I had no issue first signing up and filling out initial surveys and even filling the app experience survey; however, the app is unusable now and there doesn’t seem to be a regular web experience as a backup. If I could change my app experience survey, I would give it a poor rating.
It’s unfortunate as OHSU/Providence will lose study participants as their app has a broken login/password experience. I’ll get the DNA kit soon, but without the ability to use the app, its all useless. App developer and OHSU/Providence - If you want to keep the study going, test the login password experience, fix the app and email study participants when it’ll work again.

Easy to use once you resolve the crash issue.
I was having issues completing the health survey. Turns out the fix is to make your font display size smaller. Go into your phone settings and reduce your font size. Should work fine after that.

Login issues still persist
Sadly I am having login issues like the others. I entered my correct credentials and it simply doesn’t log me in. When I try to reset the password, the email arrives but when I click the link it just takes me to a Medable web page that shows an animated loading icon in perpetual loop.

Shame Broken App
The app is broken.
I got all excited about getting the kit today, only to find out that the app is NOT giving me an option to register the tube.
Very disappointed with this government program that is costing the Taxpayers a ton of money. Bet you that Gov. Brown is patting herself on the back for a job well done.

Having a horrible experience
Created my account. Completed a bunch of surveys and requested DNA kit. Went back to log in and it states it doesn’t recognize me. Requested a password reset 4x and have yet to get an email and it won’t let me log into my account now!!!! So upset and frustrated!!! Emailed customer service and no one has replied to that either!!

App freezes up on first question
App freezes up on first question; what state. Oregon shows up twice, pick one, it shows up on the entry field and the app is stuck on that page. I did set font to smallest and no bold and yet still doesn’t work.

HOP’s app is easy to use and I always enjoy seeing the beaker swishing when loading in between requests.

No go
I downloaded the app, and it asked what state I am in - I checked Oregon then it gave me two suggestions for Oregon, neither of which worked - I could not get past this page on my iPhone on my iPad so I deleted the app.
