Description

It's America's #1 reality show for heroes! As a contestant on "The Hero Project," you'll battle villains and heroes alike with your newly discovered "Infini" powers. Will you vote to eliminate your rivals, or betray your alliance to curry favor with the celebrity judges?

"Heroes Rise: The Hero Project" is the sequel to last year's hit "Heroes Rise: The Prodigy," the epic interactive novel by Zachary Sergi, where your choices determine how the story proceeds. The game is entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and driven by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Play as male or female, gay or straight; you can even start a "showmance" with the other contestants. What will you sacrifice to become the nation's next top hero?

Noirmori,
Great sequel
It seems like I have been waiting 7 months for this to come out, and when It finally did, it was better than I could have hoped for. There are so many great twists and turns, and I really feel like they took some advice given for the previous app. You have more choices in this second story, and your choices really affect the story more. In the last app, it seemed that your choices only determined your relationships, and power levels, and too much was set in stone, but this one, I had to restart 4 times before I could Finnish. Some people may look at this fact and say that's no fun, but it just makes the story more interesting and challenging. This is also one of CoG's longer apps. It keeps your attention though, and draws you in. I defiantly recommend this app to any, and every person, though since it's a sequel, you should probably download the first part if you haven't already. I can't wait to replay the game, and see if I can have an even better outcome than last time.

Great Game But Can’t Save
after completing The Hero Project Game on I phone app it is not saving (Keeps telling me to go to restore page which I can’t find) and I spent too much time making my choices in both games to ignore them for the 3rd game in the trilogy so I need help to be allowed to save so I can continue the series

Bug
I can’t buy the alert system with the 50,000 I got last game and the upgrades I got last game isn’t working either. And yes I am using the save.

Wow.
IAPs and facebook links integrated into the story of a PAID GAME. This kind of sleazy production really grinds me.

And the story's pretty miss. No stakes, manufactured drama.

Trash just trash it’s more like a role play board game

Amazing story!
I absolutely love Heroes Rise and I've replayed both this and The Prodigy many times; in fact, I'll likely do the same for HeroFall, now that it's out. :) The characters are by far my favorite part (especially Black Magic, haha!). In fact, there's only one thing I found wrong in The Hero Project, though it doesn't really affect me too much. When I was replaying it, I got to the epilogue and found a page where I couldn't progress any further. It's not like I reached the end of the story. I've done that before, and it ended beyond that. On the part where (Spoilers!) Prodigal informs the reader's character that her mother is alive and that she needs their help, nothing shows up to let me continue. There aren't any choices to pick or a "Next" button. Unfortunately, this also means I can't save my game and then pick up where I left off in HeroFall. Hopefully, this can be fixed. If not, oh well. :P It's still something I love reading!

I Absolutely Loved It
I bought this game immediately after hearing the premise (a choose your own adventure reality show!). I played the first heroes rise and was pleased with it, if not in love; but this game is just amazing! You have soo many options; you have more romantic interests, you can choose what kind of "character" you play on the show (the villain, the loyal friend blah blah) and who you ally with (two different groups emerge). And I honestly didn't quite see the ending coming! I'm so obsessed with the storyline, I've already played it twice and I'm tempted to play it again. My one complaint was that black magic'a character got kind of changed; but whatever he/she is still my favorite. If you're hesitant about buying this game, let me assure you IT IS WORTH IT!

Heroes Rise: The Hero Project Review
The story is rather emotional and powerful, forcing readers into emotional pain if they get deep into stories like I do.
The choices you make have long term affects on the story, like I made a mistake that resulted in a large amount of hate that I never really fixed.

Down the road, I found myself making darker and darker choices as the story progressed, which is a sign that this was good at drawing in emotions.

Overall, the story was well written, and while the pauses to ask how you feel about it have no obvious effect, I rather liked it. Brilliant idea.

Now down to the bad parts.
While there are a wider variety of choices to make, the story is linear. You're going down the exact same path no matter what happens. If I make primarily villainous choices, I'd expect my character to be more villainous in his approach to everything, or a less heroic goal.

Unlike the previous game, you aren't rewarded with a good ending for having high Legend, making me wonder why the system is still there.
I never liked the Legend system anyways, it tries to get you to be more linear with your choices so that you can have high Legend by the end of the game, instead of adapting to each situation.

I found that some choices add points to a stat that has nothing to do with it, like I went through having no regard for the law and had 60% Lawless, and I tried to operate solo, only to have 42% Solo.

All in all, its a good game, but too linear and judgemental.

I've Told All My Friends About This Series
This is an amazing series, I had such a great time playing all three stories over and over again. If you like superheroes and are at all literate (which I assume you are if you're reading this now), do yourself a favor and download all three of the Heroes Rise trilogy. This one, the Hero Project, happens to be my favorite of the three. It's framed as a reality TV show for superheroes, and in doing so it adds a lot of levels to how you choose to play: do you want to be a loyal popular hero, or an underdog soloist? A true hero or the villain the viewers love to hate? No matter which way you choose, the writing is excellent and the difficult decisions are fun and really immerse you in the game/story.

ChuDiza,
Disappointing mockery of both superheroes and CYOA games
Crammed with a lot of artificial choices that don't mean anything. Large swaths of exposition about nothing of interest. Your own character comes across rather pathetic and feeble, constantly being hoodwinked and playing second fiddle to a host of other, even less likable characters.

Worst of all is the whole reality show premise of the plot that feels like a complete misunderstanding of the superhero genre and makes every "hero" involved feel like vacuous fame-mongers. There are beastmen gangs and transhumanist doomsday cults plaguing the world but the most important thing in all these heroes' minds is how to best pander to the camera in order to join some kind of celebrity hero club? The amount of time you spend actually being a hero in this game is a merest fraction of the time you spend worrying about how you look on camera.

Gross and unentertaining. I won't be playing through the next game of this series.
