Heroic Battle is a challenging strategy board game that requires logic, deception and memory. Play against a friend on your local Wi-Fi network or a computer opponent: Probe, the Computer Stratego World Champion. You can start a new game in seconds and pause a game to complete at a later time.
Heroic Battle is easy to learn. Each game is different. You and your opponent set up your flags, bombs and other pieces and then venture out to try to capture the other’s flag. But the catch is, you only learn the identity of your opponent’s pieces during attacks. Many of the pieces—miners, scouts, the spy—have special properties that you’ll discover as you play.
One of the great features of Heroic Battle is that you can create and save your own setups. Each setup produces a different kind of game. Do you prefer fast, wide open play or a slower more conservative pace? Do you want to fortify your flag and defend it or just hide it somewhere and dare your opponent to find it? It’s up to you.
Heroic Battle is fun to play with a friend. All you need is a local Wi-Fi network, no Internet connection required. One of you taps to create a game and the other taps to join it. Simple as that.

High Quality, Solid Playability
This is a high quality game. It may not be flashy or equipped with high def graphics, but the playability and user friendliness is top notch. Having the ability to switch the rankings, save setups, choose whether or not Probe is aggressive, among others, is paramount for someone who sincerely respects the Stratego tradition. Thank you for a wonderful game. I play it often, having recently taught my sons who enjoy it as well, and have even defeated me a time or two. My one piece of feedback, if you can do anything about it, is to screen the ads. My young sons play this game and I have seen some pretty inappropriate ads here and there.

Fantastic and updated
This is the fantastic Stratego. At least for me, ads have been no problem. Pretty much just one ad before each game, and it doesn’t interrupt a game after that. Must have been updated based on some of the old reviews? Simple and easy to use, with customization of 3 board layouts that you can go between, and the ability to change your layout before every game, including the ones you customized. The A.I. isn’t perfect, I’ve seen it act funny a few times, but I’ve had some really great games where I’m either shocked that I win or shocked that I lose. This is exactly what I was looking for. Plus the ability for local multiplayer AND pass and play? I haven’t played against anyone else yet, but that is fantastic.

Solid Experience
The developers were very generous, offering a full Stratego game with now both an AI and Pass-and-Play mode. I'd be interested to see this app offer other IAPs such as piece and board themes/skins. The only bug I've encountered so far is the AI getting stuck and repeatedly moving a piece from the same position without the piece actually going back, but other than that, this app is great - way better than that "Military Chess" Luzhanqi app that was "free" (except that you had to buy to actually be able to do anything).

My Number One Game
Ok, so the computers Martial is often tricked into being caught by my spy and the opponent’s Scouts are not used to their potential, it’s wonderful. I play it just about every day. Not a big deal but I wish there was a way to safeguard against uncouth players running their score up by cheating. There’s a glitch in the system that lets you do that but it doesn’t change my 5 Star rating of this game.

Great App
I’ve been looking for a good version of this classic board game for quite some time and have now found it. It works well, provides a large number of pre-designed board setups as well as ample storage for one’s own designs, and ads are presented very sparingly, never interrupting a game in progress. I couldn’t ask for more.

I don’t want to play an AI
Getting onto a different version of Stratego and only being able to play an AI that Always knows where your pieces are is nothing short of retarded.
I’ve played the original stratego both online (until it was removed) and in person for well over 15yrs and there is nothing about the game that should be AI based.
This would speedily be changed to a 5 star review if you had online multiplayer. Not local. I have no idea why you wouldn’t just pull out the actual board game and play it instead of getting on your phone.

There were a lot of apps trying to take my money just to play this simple game. Thank you for making it free and so much fun. If you can try to make the Ai a bit harder or make a challenge mode where the ai has better pieces. Now I can practice my skills anytime!

It was fine, until...
So this isn’t a bad app or anything, it’s just that I’d had it for two hours when the random ads started freezing. Without fail, every turn was accompanied by a frozen ad (the close button doesn’t work, the get button doesn’t work, etc. It’s like a picture) so I had to exit/close the app and reenter so I can take another turn, during which the cycle repeats. Would give it 5 stars if not for the frozen ads.

Very good
Play all the time but something happened the last couple days the bombs and flag are not visible anymore and when it gets near the end it’s hard getting around your own bombs cause they’re not visible
