Dj Noremac,
Great game, one problem
Love this game, got hooked from the beginning! Was really excited when the update came out with bonus levels! The one problem is that certain features in the game require obtaining orbs to progress or earn daily rewards etc. Unfortunately, I’m a perfectionist, and wouldn’t allow myself to move forward to the next level until I had all 3 orbs for the level. Therefore, when the update came out, I already had all possible/available blue orbs which locks me out of either the final bonus level or potentially even more levels, I can’t see if it continues past the locked level or not. To continue forward you have to get 15 blue orbs, but like I said, when the update dropped I already had all of them, so I’m locked out of the levels. My suggestion is just a minor change where, if you obtain all possible orbs, you have carte blanche within the game. Everything is unlocked and maybe you get a special skin or something. That way you can still fulfill the daily challenges and progress through any newly added levels without being locked out for crushing the game! Hope this gets read and considered, as I’m sure I’m not the only one struggling with this. Thank you!
shadimirza,
Fantastic arcade game perfect for quick plays
First, let’s state the obvious. Hexaflip was clearly intended to be a freemium game. The daily login rewards and currency system serve absolutely no purpose.

But where the game loses one star is the checkpoint system. It really doesn’t help at all. To explain: each level has three gems up for grabs. You don’t need to get them, but the completionist in me does. But most gems disappear after a set time, making speed and precision essential. If you hit a checkpoint after a gem has already disappeared, you have little reason to spend coins on the checkpoint.

Other than that, you can tell the developer spent a lot of time on the gameplay. Ultra tight controls that work just as well on a touch screen as they do a controller. New mechanics introduced every couple of levels. Good music. And a scoring system that rewards you for finding the right flow - making it through a level by flipping with no pauses in movement. Great game and a must play.

Great Game hindered by a few bugs
I’ve been really enjoying my time with this game. It’s exactly what I wanted from Apple Arcade, mobile games without the drawbacks that so many mobile games suffer from. However, there have been some bugs that I’ve experienced while playing. First, your progress doesn’t save well as if you exit you lose access to any levels you haven’t completed, meaning you have to redo levels constantly. Also, achievements don’t seem to save as I keep getting pop ups for achievements I’ve already achieved (this might be a problem with GameCenter not the developers). With a couple changes this could be a mobile masterpiece. If the devs see this please fix.
Riding Racer 11,
Worthless levels
The levels don’t have any meaning, and there is no world X (10) yet. That is disappointing. What is more is that once you finish all the levels there is no more to play. Bonus levels are weird and too hard, as well as golden orbs, which should be currency of some sort. Survival mode is one thing, but it has 2 problems. First of all, it is just a stupid replay of all the levels. Second of all, once you crash you start from the same level again but the name is the first level, so you are going to be playing the same level twice or thrice. One more bug will be mentioned in this review. If you go in a previous world, or into the next world a bug will occur. For example, take level 4, which is in world 1, and play it while you are in the world 2 zone, level 4 will appear to be in world 2. It is interesting because that means you get to try out different levels in different worlds, but it is still a bug and should be fixed.

Too buggy to be fun
Initially entertaining. Has the typical Game Center achievements bug where it keeps telling you that you earned the same achievements every time you start the game. Can’t keep any levels past 12 unlocked between game sessions. I completed level 14, then took a break. Came back a few hours later, game had to start fresh (not resume), and 13 & 14 were re-locked, but 12 showed that I’d completed it with all 3 gems or whatever. So, I completed 12 again (and got “Training Levels Completed” and “10 Levels Completed” achievements), which unlocked 13, then on completion unlocked 14, and so on. Got all the way to completing World 2 and had to stop playing. Just fired up the game again (fresh start, not resume), and I’m back to 13 & up being locked. Completed level 12 again, AGAIN got the achievements for “Training Levels Completed” and “10 Levels Completed”.

Like every other Apple Arcade game I’ve played, it’s all flash and either no substance or too buggy. Hey, Apple, stop forcing devs to make “pretty” games and maybe they’ll actually make _good_ games.
TreyEthan,
Don’t download this, because it’s a good game...?
If this was a so-so game, I’d give it two, maybe even three stars. But it’s a fun, engaging casual game. So how could that make it get just one star? Because it makes the bugs so frustrating that it’s worse than never having downloaded it in the first place, so I wouldn’t have any idea what I’m missing.

The bugs are in progress recording. I’ve never been able to resume a game without losing progress. Not once. The resumed game state is weird—like, it’ll show you’ve completed level 15 and 16, but not 11 and 12. And every time you resume it makes you tap through every single reward from the prior play, again. So I give up, delete the profile and start a new one from the tutorial and play longer in one sitting, but then I have to switch to another app. Too bad—progress bugs are back.

I really, really wish I had never downloaded this—its sadistic to dangle such a fun game, and make it near-totally but randomly un-re-playable.
Sir_E-Zee,
Great game, a few minor bugs...
Love the game! I think I have had it for about a week and already on level 48! The bonus world's are challenging which is great too. I'd give it 4/5 stars if a few bugs could be addressed.

1. If for any reason your phone is idle after you have just completed a level. When you play the next level you lose your progress. I end up needing to leave and restart the app entirely and then replay the last completed level to regain access to the next. It's weird and a bit deterring.

2. The apple game notifications go off constantly, even though they are sometimes incorrect. I'd love the option to turn off these alerts as they aren't seeming to add value to the experience, but are distracting.

3. When I re-opening the app, I need to click through a ton of times for new skins that I may have unlocked, many of which I feel like I've unlocked before. Ex. I get alerted to click through and accept new skins unlocked for logging in 1, 2, & 3 days in a row on day 4. As if it were showing them all to me for the 1st time, every time.

Overall, the game is great. Would def give a higher rating if not for these few constant bugs.
Jeanettedummer,
Fun gameplay but super buggy
I'm really liking the gameplay but, but for me there are some major bugs. Just know I played through about ten levels an unlocked world 5. I closed the app to look and something else. When I came back all of todays progress was lost. This happens all the time. I’ve unlocked world 4 at least 4 times. Skin purchases never stick. The next day my coins are back and the skins I unlocked the day before are gone. Sometimes, a level goes back to being locked even when I have later level unlocked. My guess is that the app hits a backend api to save state and that api is failing 95% of the time. I’ve trying it both on wifi and my data plan to make sure it wasn't my network that was blocking the traffic. These are all fixable stability issues. Until those are fixed, this game is unplayable.
Hamid68,
Super fun game
I really love this game. I really like playing games like these and I saw this and downloaded it. This is probably the most fun I’ve had with a mobile game. I really like the art style that was used and it looks great for a mobile game. The gameplay is simple yet very satisfying. The levels are really interesting, creative, and well designed. It stars out easy but the puzzles get much more intricate which is awesome. The one thing is I wish there were more levels. I know there are plenty but I’ve been having so much fun that I’m getting through them quickly but no complaints about the game for me. If you have Apple Arcade I recommend downloading this game.
cicimcalinden,
Fun but SO buggy
If you were to never ever close this app and play it all the way through to completion - it’s brilliant. BUT if you so much as flick out of the app for 2 seconds to answer a message your progress data gets totally messed up. You’ll be on level 55, answer a text, come back to the game and: have to click through every unlocked skin again, get a notification for every game center achievement again, and you’ll have been kicked back 20 levels. Huge and infuriating flaw in what could be a great game. I’ve just been kicked back from 55 to 31, after having last been kicked back from 44 to 27 and have decided to give up.
