Create advanced configurations for your Hue motion sensor, Hue dimmer switch or Hue Tap. Check out our sample videos and FAQ at https://huelights.com.

Teach your lights new tricks with Hue Lights! Completely customize each button on your Hue dimmer switch or Hue Tap. Control 8 scenes from a single Hue dimmer switch, change brightness speeds, or select groups based on duration of button press. Hue Lights leverages the latest firmware to store scene details directly on the bridge. You can view and edit shared scenes from any device on your network. The UI offers improved visual feedback and easier on/off/brightness controls directly from the home screen.

Try the sequences feature to see amazing possibilities at your fingertips. Use your Apple Watch to activate scenes, adjust group brightness and trigger alerts. Escape to the beach with soothing ocean, lake, or creek sounds while your lights gently change and dim (Water In-App purchase). Experience amazing thunderstorms (In-App purchase) with customized controls for lightning strikes, rain density, bird songs, wind speed, sleep timer, brightness and sky color! Simulate realistic fires (In-App purchase) with dedicated controls for fire type, fire size, flare-ups and brightness.

If you have any problems with previous In-App purchases, tap "Restore." Please see the comprehensive FAQ and documentation at https://huelights.com for App help. The free version allows control of lights 1 and 2. In-App purchases can unlock all lights and special effects.

Hue Lights brings you fast widget support, shared scenes and groups, comprehensive scheduling, sequences and powerful light controls. Create multiple "On" and "Off" schedules per scene. Tap a row to select a light, group, or scene. Use quick controls at the bottom of the screen. Long press a row for quick actions (on, choose color, edit, off).

Save scenes from any third-party app and use Hue Lights to activate these on your Apple Watch or widget. Dynamically animate or schedule any scene from third-party apps.

Wake up peacefully with the perfect sunrise from Hue Lights! Your lights will change through thousands of precise sunrise colors as they slowly brighten. Schedule multiple sunrise times for weekdays, weekends, or individual days. The schedules and sunrise simulation run 100% on your bridge, so your mobile device can be powered off. The perfect sunrise feature includes an integrated snooze function. At any time during the sunrise sequence you can turn all of your lights off with a Hue Tap, dimmer switch, widget, or app. The lights will resume the sunrise sequence when the snooze timer expires. You can also start a sunrise sequence using a Hue Tap, dimmer switch, motion sensor, or daylight sensor. The total duration of this sequence is configurable from 1 minute to 60 minutes.

Is your bridge too full? Did you run out of rules? Are you reluctant to perform a factory reset? Hue Lights can help you clean up unused bridge resources. This often lets you add more Hue dimmer switches, Hue Taps, and motion sensors. To use these new clean-up tools tap Settings and then Bridge Information. The Rules and Sensors section allows you to disable and/or delete unused bridge resources.

- Resume all of your motion sensors with one tap.

Live the future of light control with Hue Lights! Each button on the Hue dimmer switch and Hue Tap can be configured to control scenes, groups, or brightness. Map up to 8 scenes on a single Hue dimmer switch. Select different scenes or groups from the same button. Change the brightness button speeds to 10 distinct velocities.

Hue Lights leverages the latest firmware (API 1.11 and above) to share scene and schedule details on the bridge. You can view and edit individual scene light states directly on the bridge. These details are visible to any app or service that supports v2 scenes.

This release also includes several requests from our existing users:

Experience melodies of light for every mood, occasion, and event with Hue Lights sequences. Savor the 12 sample sequences or create your own using the powerful sequence editor. Add lights, groups or scenes to each step and assign colors, fade times, on/off actions, and effects. Add or rearrange steps to running sequences to get immediate feedback. The sequence dashboard will show all of the action as it happens with sub-second accuracy.

Several of the sample sequences work with the "All Lights" system group, so they even work in the free version of the app. Samples include Attention, Cold Recipes, Exercise Interval, Heartbeat, Holiday Cheer, Movie Start, Nebula Point, Spectrum, Sunrise, Sunset, Traffic Light, and Warm Recipes.

This release also packs in 11 improvements for existing users:

* 3D Touch - Turn all lights off or on by deeply pressing Hue Lights app icon (iPhone 6s feature).

* Touchlink - Force lights to join your bridge. This is great for anyone with stranded bulbs. If you migrated your bridge and lost some bulbs, try Touchlink to force them back.

* Apply any system scene to the "All Lights" group; works with free version of the app.

* Independent control of lights, scenes and groups while animations are running.

* Scenes and groups now fade off with the configured fade interval.

* Special audio tracks for lightning and flare-ups are now controlled with the master app audio slider.

* Improved lightning colors for LightStrips and Bloom models.

* Special heuristics to completely turn off OSRAM LIGHTIFY bulbs.

* Distinctive icons for each bridge version.

* More details on bridge information screen.

* Updated sliders show color range of lights.

Ignite your Hue Lights with a fiery spectacle of animated colors and striking sounds! Create a warm fire ambiance with customized controls for fire type, fire size, flare-ups and brightness. Fire types include fireplace, campfire, brush fire and forest fire. Each fire type includes unique visual algorithms with professionally recorded sounds. Add wood to each fire type to increase the visual and audio dynamics. Burn the fire forever or start a countdown timer that automatically shuts off your lights and audio. The website has videos demonstrating the Fire and Thunderstorm effects.

- Watch your lights flicker and change as the fire burns. Lights vary from bright yellow and orange flames to dimmer reddish embers. Flare-up frequency can be changed from none to 240 flare-ups per hour. Independently adjust the brightness of flames and flare-ups.

- The Fire in-app purchase will work with all of your lights or a subset of lights. You do not need to unlock any lights to use this effect. The fire effect works best with colored bulbs supporting the ZigBee standard (e.g., Philips Hue, OSRAM LIGHTIFY, dresden elektronik).

- Select Set Up and then Fire to access the custom fire controller screen.

There are many other updates to help you maximize your Hue Lights experience:

* Your voice was heard loud and clear. Every screen, slider, button, stepper, switch and image has localized accessibility support for VoiceOver users. Adjust lights, start a thunderstorm, or build a fire with your eyes closed. If you have low vision, VoiceOver support in Hue Lights will greatly enhance your experience.

* Check out the new update in the "Groups" tab. You can now select a group and temporarily apply any of the built-in Scenes to that group. The scene or favorite applied to the group is displayed on the Group Detail page. When you power on or off the group from the Home or Group screens it will use your temporary override.

* The "Scenes" tab now lists the number of schedules associated with each scene.

* You can now reduce the brightness of the lightning flash. Instead of flashing at 100% brightness the white flash will now use the same brightness setting as the storm brightness (i.e., the bottom slider on the Thunderstorm screen). To use this reduced brightness you should disable the Strobe feature.

The fire feature includes licensed audio clips from Creative Sound Design, LLC. See http://huelights.com/license/fire.html for more information.

Frustrated gamer in Virginia,
Great app, needs to run in background
This was my first app purchase as soon as I bought Hue lights. Worth every penny. Fairly easy to program custom stuff, once you get the hang of it.

With Phillips putting out some outdoor lights that can work kind of like Christmas lights, I do wish this app would run in the background. I set up a color rotation red->green->blue->white, and I’m a bit tired of going outside and seeing that the lights have stopped switching colors. Open the phone, navigate back to the Hue Lights app, and they start changing colors again. I think the problem would be solved if the app ran in the background.
H@yley,
Superior App
I have had Philips Hues lights for about 5 years. This is by far the best app. Worth every single upgrade. I will continue to support this app as long as they stay around. I hope you will add more fun automated scenes. I love the thunderstorm & water. It would be great to get some new ones soon. It’s worth it to figure out how this app works. It really has everything that you’ll ever need all in one place. The only thing I’m having an issue with is the animations. Whenever I put it on concert, the thunderstorm plays at the same time. It’s weird and pretty annoying. I’ve tried refreshing and even deleted the app and restored it. It’s still there. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks

Very powerful, for advanced users
This app is easily the most powerful one on the app store for controlling Hue lights. You can set up advanced scenes and animations with custom sequences. The drawback is that there is a learning curve for the advanced custom scenes.

If you prefer pre-built scenes and animations there are some very good ones that you can purchase as one-time in-app-purchases. Very refreshing, compared with other apps that charge a recurring monthly or yearly fee.

Lastly, there are some one star reviews but they are almost all several years old and referencing bugs that were fixed in later releases.
Queen Bean Casseroles,
Saved Me From Buying a Second Bridge
I utilized this app to exceed the dimmer switch limit of 7. Philips used to allow 12, but decreased the threshold to 7 after an update. Each dimmer switch comes preinstalled with a set of rules, and the reason you’re limited to 7 dimmer switches is to keep the total rule count within a predefined threshold. I used this app to delete the preprogrammed rules and I customized each switch carefully so I’m comfortably under the rule limit. I have 14 dimmer switches in operation on the same bridge, along with 47 lights, and I haven’t experienced any issues. This app saved me from having to buy a new bridge, and I’m so grateful.
gwenhyfara,
Phenomenal app and great sunrise feature
This app can initially seem overwhelming if you are used to the philips app, but play around with it and you will find it provides the full detailed control of your lights that simpler apps don't. For such improved control of expensive light bulbs, the add-ons are cheap and I am happy to support the future development of this app, as I plan to use the heck out of it for years to come.

The sunrise is really nice, starts red and very dim, makes full use of the color bulbs, and can be tweaked in many ways so you can get your own personal perfect gentle wake-up.
Farahpreux,
Wish I’d bought this sooner!
The thunderstorm effect is my favorite! It’s very easy to program. I only have the basic philips hue lights (not the color changing bulbs), so my use on this app is very limited. Still, I like the sunrise feature, the fire effect, and the thunderstorm app. It does look strange to neighbors though, who will see flashing lights through your window! My only hiccup with the app is that it doesn’t seem able to play audio through my Google Home, which I’d like for a truly immersive sound. Otherwise worth the money.
Bik dicg,
Real control
I haven’t been very impressed with ifttt and what it can do with my lights. HomeKit provides granular control and even the hue app is a mild improvement on that. It’s worth the in app purchase because you can create your own lighting schemes and actions. Like I just set independent color bulbs to change between cool colors at different rates. Puts on a neat show that you can program. Pretty easy to use, but complex programs like that can take some time to set up properly. If there’s something you want do do with your lights, this app can probably do it
Mplspitbull,
Maintained and updated regularly
As long as I’ve owned this app I’ve felt like it has been maintained and updated regularly. New features have been introduced and new options continually being made available.

This app has all the nuts and bolts to make it as simple or robust as you want. At first when you open it, it appears complicated and overwhelming, but it’s not. I love how this app allows you to make it what you want. Whenever you have a question or issue the developer is responsive and willing to help.

There are automations available if you are just getting into hue. This app excels if you want to geek out with hue and manually great effects and scenes.

Thank you for staying on top of things and offering us the ability to make the malt out of our lighting experience should we choose to do so. Keep up the great work.
Moderate Liberal Extrordinaire,
Perfect for older equipment!
I have a spare iPhone 5s (just in case my iPhone 8 decides to die or someone decides to walk off with it) and it can’t load the current version of the hue app because the iPhone 5 can’t load any OS past 12.5, and I didn’t have a way to control my lights because of that. This software allows me to turn on, dim, turn off, change colors, just about anything the hue app can do (so far). Thanks for keeping it on the App Store.
TR64ever,
Flakey app - such potential!
I've been using this app for 5+ years, have bought add-ins and extra scenes. Love the color loop scenes - if only I could put my favorites on a separate menu so I wouldn't always have to dig for them. But the app is flakey: it can't always find or connect to the bridge. I've upgraded the Hue router (2x) and home router it's plugged into (2x). Reinstalling the app sometimes works. Several of the buttons or options on the bridge connect menu have never worked.
I think the developer should start from scratch.
I keep the Phillips Hue (factory default app) around - it ALWAYS works and is good for troubleshooting this app when if doesn't work.
