iBassist turns your iPad into a versatile bass player to jam or compose anywhere and create grooves for installed drum apps, so the jam enters a new level. Additionally, it sends progression chords by MIDI, so you can have any synth/piano on the background and a proper band jamming instantly.
Bass lines are based in degrees, so you can apply any chord progression to any bass line. A valuable tool to apply different bass grooves to your songs. And the jam tool brings musical variations and new ideas on the way.
Now iBassist can send different Chord figures, octaves, lengths, notes and figures to 2 different MIDI Channel. It allows to create customized atmospheres with iOS synths/piano in the background.
The Chord Progression editor is quick, easy to use and allows to create or edit your progressions choosing Key Notes - harmony by steps, midi detection or randomizing.
iBassist includes 10 Round Robin sampled natural bass sounds. Different styles and colors, from Modern Finger Bass, to warm Double Bass.
Live Pads lets to play live sessions on the way with 8 assignable pads for Line-Progression-Jam, and change between them by MIDI.
Song Mode. Choosing "Make Drums" in song mode will create the whole song structure drums.
Export Midi function to create MIDI Files with the Bass Line /- Progression - Jam combination or whole song structures.
Built-In Effects: Compressor, Delay, Chorus, Reverb.

Great app, One thing…
I love all of the Lumbeat drum apps and the new Hip Hop Drummer is fantastic! iBassist is a wonderful tool kit to complete the rhythm section and opens the door for live jamming. Love all of the MIDI capabilities. Howewver as of late it has been dropping out of Audiobus during jams and sometimes won’t load right in a saved scene. I tried to leave a comment on your website but didn’t see where to leave it or to email.

Almost Fantastic!
Fantastic Idea ..but...there seems to be a slight lag between the Bass Sound and the Drums that are linked.(I own 4 of your Drum Apps, and they all lag a little behind.) I didn’t notice this at first. Other than that, yes it does Crash some and Freaks Out when using AUM sometimes. Works great otherwise. But, once you notice the Lag you can’t forget that it’s there. Please Fix This and you will have yourself something really Groundbreaking.

A great bassist but takes a coffee break every 5 mins or so!
A could-be unparalleled bass app. But for me it hasn’t been useful. I use it in the Real Time mode. In that mode, the finicky player almost predictably quits playing every 5 mins or so. This makes this somewhat expensive iOS app useless for my purposes. Hopefully this problem will be solved one of these days. I’m still giving it a 3 because I asked the programmer to add a feature and he did. Also, I still have hopes for this app.

Great app
Love the app! I tried other apps for different instruments and have been disappointed. This one works amazingly well. One recommending if possible: Any chance of getting more effects in the future? For example, distortion would be great (I prefer the fuzz type of distortion myself. Maybe different types?). Thanks for the great work?

Almost perfect
What an amazing app sir, just like all your other apps.
There's two things I would love you to include in the near future.
First: It'd be great to have the same MIDI foot controller options as the drums apps.
Second: It'd be perfect if it could run on iPhone as well.

Super cool
I’ve picked up a few of the drum apps as well and this integrates so nicely with those. These apps make practicing and coming up with new ideas so much fun.
I would still like to be able to preview the notes in the line editor to make it a little easier to program grooves. Overall a great app and well worth the cost.

A dream come true!
Thank you so much for this app! It’s so wonderful to be able to easily create amazing backing tracks or use it for songwriting. The sounds are amazing, easy to use and sound great with their sister drum apps. And the chord midi out to a synth just makes it all the more groovy. It really is a dream come true!

Great app
But it would be better if you could select the scale and the kind of scale you want to use. Sometimes it crashes but I am almost sure that is going to be fixed in future update I have other apps from Luis Martínez and they are all amazing. Recommended!!! P.S. Jazz bass please

Very cool and useful
Reggae isn’t my primary scene, but since this was cheap, I went with. This is great. A lot of options, and you can make your own bass bits. Very pleased. Good work on the part of this dev.

App shuts down after start up screen
I have an iPad Pro and was really looking forward to this app, as I enjoy many of this developer’s fine apps. I have the latest iOS and app update, and have even reinstalled it and to no avail, it worked for a few days and then every time I try opening the app, it shuts down right after startup screen. What is going on with this? Otherwise, when it worked, it was very cool.
