Brohan46,
Very Fun
Love the game overall, I’ve been playing this game for months and I actually took a small break for about a week or two. But it’s literally the only game I play on my iPhone now, you’ve done an amazing job and I love the characters within game. I’m so fond of the gameplay that I normally have a hour or more gameplay sessions a couple times a day. Though there are a few things I would like to see, such as being able to view the character models as well as being able to find new players to be your friends or to invite them into your order/brigade. Other than that I absolutely love this game and it’s found a permanent place on my phone! That’s saying something after I delete a game after the first couple hours to see if I like it, which is pretty rare in my case. (Update) 2/10; After playing this game for awhile now and there’s only one thing I wish would change for the better. Is the option to change the divergence of a character after selecting one. I understand you can switch between “Law & Chaos” but to revert them to their normal neutral selfs would be nice to or at least make those who are “neutral” to be used for either side regardless of divergence.
Capt No Help,
❤️I really love this game❤️
I don’t normally write reviews, but I just had to with this one.
For a gacha game, this is probably one of the greatest (and most addictive) that I have ever played!
The main story is interesting, but I’m a little more motivated by the side stories. I loooooove the class system in this game, and being able to choose between the Law and Chaos. I LOVE the Arena mode and Idola battle mode—both are so much fun and feel very rewarding! There is quite a lot to do in this game to keep you busy, and it was a little overwhelming for me at first. Once I got the hang of how the different modes worked, I fell in love. They all take a different type of stamina, and they all seem to replenish fairly quick which is nice.
I think it’s neat that there are different art styles for different characters, and the artwork is just so appealing in this game. And the music? Just phenomenal. I love that it’s also available on iTunes!! I can’t wait to listen to it while I’m at work.
What I love most about this game is that NOT ONCE have I felt pressured to spend any of my money to progress. If/When I do spend money, it’s for the gacha and I have NEVER felt as though I’ve wasted my money. Even if I don’t get the character I’m aiming for, I feel I usually get something of equal or greater value. I can’t wait to see what sort of content we get in the future! Thanks for such a wonderful game! ❤️
Vitamin___D,
No gacha use for gacha tickets
So the game is fun and all but here’s a HUGE issue for me. So I’ve been playing since launch and the game was fine even though a lot of the event releases were really really slow. It took the game being out for a few months before they started communicating with the community about events and previews. The issue is now that we are in season two..if you have been playing this game as long as I have more than likely you have almost every season one toon which is great, however now that we are in season two I’ve skipped every banner because we can not use the gacha tickets that we obtain on the banner it is strictly you either spend quite a bit of money for star diamonds to roll and probably not get the toon your after or make sure you exhaust all star diamonds from every part of the game. This game have this thing call a “lucky chance” which boosts your rate of pulling a 5 star character…yea it’s not applicable to season two banners. I’ve been playing gacha games for a long time however this is the first game I’ve played where I can’t use any of my 80 gacha tickets because they are literally forcing the community to spend money. I get it, it’s about making money but there are so many better ways to go about doing that. Bad business Model If this doesn’t change by December I will be uninstalling and you will lose yet another whale. FIX IT

Idola Feedback
*overall great game, combat is amazing, and a strategic masterpiece as well as questing/ Idola battles/ arena/ and continuous events are all well done. I just feel like the UI needs some tweaking but little things like the things below would make our lives easier and a much more pleasant experience*

Equipped items should have a icon of the user on the bottom right corner of the item
“Inventory” should not have to take like 3 buttons to reach it same goes for “party set up”.. we want to be able to across them quicker
Optimization.. every button I press has practically almost like a loading it’s stressful when you accidentally press the wrong button or when you want to do something quickly but you have to deal with going through several button presses to get to your destination
Total “Combat Power”.. when I auto set up the game knows which characters are stronger than others I ask myself what’s the difference of power from specific heroes..
Showcasing stats with equipped weapons base stats are useless, let’s see how much stronger they are with their equipped symbols and weapons
Destiny Divergence, before reaching destiny divergence we should be able to see their skills from Law and Chaos so that we can pre plan our new set up team, I have to go back forth to try to see their skills comparing it to other heroes to figure out if they would be better of at Law or Chaos
C..S..,
Decent
In a vacuum this is a decent enough game to occupy some time. Compared to other options -is quite confusing what they’re reaching for here. To start it seems as if they’ve put more work into making it impossible to reroll than into any other aspect of the game. Beyond that there’s no redeeming qualities that I’ve been able to find. Story is yawn-worthy, graphics/char movements are jerky & dated to put nicely, progress system is relitively uncomplicated which is nice, but the split banners which include gear, weapons & characters often results in never getting what you hoped for nor anything even close. Have done upwards of a thousand summons so far and through multiple accounts only once got a 5* unit the remainder being identical low tier units over and over. Like I said, in a vacuum it’s a decent enough game, but there’s no apparent draw to this game over blindly choosing from a long list of others within the same genre. All and all I guess I would recommend just b/c it’s something new, but after my experience with the summoning system I see absolutely no way to avoid the inevitable buyers remorse from spending real money in this game. I think if the devs chose to improve even one aspect of this game it would easily be 3-4*’s. Perhaps a selector ticket or removing the reroll restrictions.
Matt Turpin,
Giving the genre a chance
I’ve, by and large, avoided the freemium lottery games with assorted bundles of purchased currency. I’m trying this because I play Phantasy Star Online 2, and there’re some trivial tie-ins.

Anyway, it’s pretty good so far. It’s daunting, to say the least. There are a whole lot of systems at work, using various resources. The game gives you a quick, sequential run down on doing everything once, but doesn’t really leave you with an understanding of how you’d want to ration your resources in the future. Pay-walls in this sort of game tend to be fairly inevitable, so I hesitate to waste resources early on what may or may not be trash.

That said, I appreciated at least one cameo from PSO2, the battles seem like they’ll get pretty strategic once the kid gloves are off, and the presentation is crisp. I’m going to run with it for as long as it shows a modicum of respect for my wallet and time. I think it’s worth trying for anyone into the PS universe.
AkaSpade,
A simplistic return-to-form for Phantasy Star
The battle system in particular reminds me a lot of the battle system used in the Genesis Phantasy Star games, and I’m all for it. Needless to say, the gacha elements do sour it a bit and outside of actual battle, there isn’t a whole lot going for it. I like the concept of switching between two different parties, it really helps spice up the battle system, but at the same time the very small amount of skills that each unit has really takes away from the complexity. If anything, this is both a step forward and backward for Phantasy Star, I’d love to see this battle system improved on for a single player title because I feel that the fact that it’s a free to play mobile game really takes a lot away from what this game can be. All in all though, this is a very enjoyable game if you’re a Phantasy Star fan.
I cant believe you done this,
Good game, needs work, and should have launched in 2.0
So this is a quick unbiased review of IPSS.

TLDR: Should you play this game? If you want another grindy gacha to sink your teeth into with extremely gameplay differences? Then probably not.
If you want a very chill game, with not much of a grind at all, and some innovative mechanics. Just something to play on the side while other stamina in games recharge? Then yes. 100% play this game.

Idola is a very fun game and there is a lot of good to it, and seemingly not much bad. The seemingly low rates are actually 4% due to a double rate up system by playing arena. (Which isn’t hard.) and they give it out quite frequently. The game doesn’t limit you from selecting very powerful friends so a lot of content you can be carried through before you make yourself stronger.

So far my only complaint with the game is that there are some bugs I have heard from the player base, while I have not encountered them myself.

Also I believe this game should and would benefit from going into the 2.0 version as quick as possible. As I think that would be most beneficial for both players and devs.

Overall IPSS is fun and if you want to chill while playing this game it is very possible. It is not hardcore at all. Which is a good thing.
crashrz3,
Balanced for all players
The game is honestly one of the best gacha games I’ve played and I’m not just saying that. This discord server is very active and always fun to talk to, if you ever need help they always answer with tips and tricks. The story is surprisingly decent and the combat is nothing like I’ve played before. Making different team compositions and switching between law and chaos brings and interesting twist to the combat. All of the characters are useful and there is no one character that carries the game and as a F2P player I found it not hard to compete. The game even gives you 2x multiplier for rare drops on the banner which helps us F2P players alot. Arena isn’t even carried by a certain set of characters, due to their unique ranking system anyone can become in the top. Overall a really solid game!!!

Searik,
Great game all around
I play a lot of Gacha games some are good most are not... this game is very generous with the free gems for pulls. I have been able to do at least 20 x10 pulls and gotten several 5 stars (including both limited edition). The odds are better with paid gems but HELLO that is what these games do! I am so tired of players whining about paid features of games you can be f2p easily in this game you just can not play non-stop. I did make a purchase because I believe in supporting developers when the cost is fair and the game is worth it! Would like to see a bit more directions. Even just something you can click on for more details of what each area is. Still uncertain what to do in/with brigade but have not been able to find description or directions.
