Rebekah Hernandez,
A good way to listen to music but..
The app is a good way to listen but there are some things I would love to see get changed.
There is a back arrow and I wish it worked to either rewind the song or to go back a song. Which I don’t like because if I like the song or want the name I should be able to rewind to see it.
There is also a repeat button on the app but it doesn’t work. Which is bad since I love listening to songs on repeat.
Cancerfaq,
It’s eh...
I’d just like to say that I’ve just recently gotten back to using this speaker. Honestly I like the nice lights it provides and the audio is pretty nice. But I’d like to make a few requests. 1. I feel like switching between WiFi networks is a bit annoying. I’d always have to go to the iHome AVS network, but I won’t have any WiFi. This causes people to keep on farting around networks so they can do stuff on the iHome app and other apps. Maybe if you could connect with Bluetooth instead of WiFi, I would like it more. 2. Many people and I use Apple Music. You can have many different songs from many different artists for around $10 a month. It’s not too bad. But, I can’t access my Apple Music. The app would just say I can’t play it, and I can only play music I have permanently bought. Fixing that problem would be nice. 3. iHeart Radio. Since I couldn’t access my Apple Music, I turned over to iHeart Radio. I had a previous account I could’ve used, but it was logging in through Google; which the iHome app can’t do. I tried creating a brand new account but I’d always get denied. A blank button would appear on the screen and would lead to nothing if you pressed it. So if you could fix the sign up problem and input buttons where we can log in through Google and Facebook, that’d be great.
Bo yo1 23,
Liking it so far
I just got my iHome AVS and I’m digging it. I’m about to be getting a bunch of smart home stuff to control my room with (I’ll update when I’ve used those and say if they are good).
The colors are nice and the dimming of the screen and colors is nice, I just wish that the color strip on the bottom and the screen dimmed together by the same button on the top of the device.
I’ve run into two annoying bugs so far and they are really effecting how I like to use the clock.

1) none of my music plays through the local function in the iHome app. I have to use bluetooth to use my phones music. When I go to play a song through the built in app, it just keeps skipping through the songs not playing a single one of them, then it says it can’t play my song. I know that’s not huge but it’s annoying having to connect to Bluetooth every time I want to play music.

2) and this one is really throwing me for a loop. Alexa’s voice and the sound for the alarm clock have to be set under the same volume. I’m a heavy sleeper so I need the alarm clock set 20+ but I, in no way need Alexa yelling through my whole house at those volumes. I need Alexa and the alarms to be able to have separate volume controls. So when I ask Alexa a question I don’t have to stand away from her as to not blow my ear drums out. I also don’t want to have to continually change the volume up before I go to bed and then down after I wake up.

GIVE US SEPARATE VOLUME CONTROLS!
GamerMom223,
Ugghhhh
My old modem broke so I set up a new one with an entirely new name and password. I knew I’d have to reconnect my AVS16, so I went into the app, verified that it ONLY had the new info and got started. And, for the record, my WiFi names went from being a Firefly reference to a Monty Python reference, so there was absolutely no chance of confusion.

New network and password verified and the device still wouldn’t connect. We tried for two hours and factory reset it twice. Nothing. So, I called customer service the next morning and got treated like an idiot baby. She kept asking me to verify that I wasn’t connected to my old network and wouldn’t listen when I tried to explain that the network literally doesn’t exist. I got so frustrated and tired of being belittled - including me trying to answer a question and her responding “I know what the app page says so you don’t need to tell me” - I just hung up on her.

I loved this product but now I’m wishing I hadn’t wasted my money.

Loss of WiFi connection all the time
Just like a lot of people I paid a pretty penny for this IHome AVS16 ,and I loved it for about the first few months. I’ve had it for awhile now, and I’m very disappointed with the overall product. I work in the oilfield and get an average of three to four hours of sleep a day, and I need an alarm clock that I can depend on. I don’t know if it’s due to it being an inferior product, if the app needs to be updated, or the firmware needs to be updated. You have to see that your reviews are consistently bad across all of your apps, and with that being said please do something. The app has to work for us to use the product.
KatieK3277301,
If I could give this app 0 stars I would
I have an iHome alarm clock with Alexa. I love the clock itself but it is terrible to try and set it up. Every time I have to set up this clock with a new WiFi, it always has problems. Why can’t it just be simple?? It’s such a pain and this app is dreadful. NEVER BUY ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES THIS GODFORSAKEN APP!!!! Save yourself the time, stress, and energy. It’s such a shame cause other than that I love this clock but the setup is the most annoying process. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost years off my life trying to set up this alarm clock. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CzechAggie,
Lots of Connection Issues
I just bought the speaker and attempted to connect it to my iPhone. My iPhone is running the iOS 13.1 system, so it should work without any problems. I was able to successfully connect it after about 15 minutes of troubleshooting. It said I was connected however the app crashed and then asked me to reconnect starting from the beginning. I have attempted a half dozen more times, but with no success. I was hoping to find a smart alarm clock but it appears that this one tried to be too smart.
Evil Trecnoc,
Unbelievable convoluted.
Tried to set it up - even for my ISP to bring out a new router for better WiFi, and it still doesn’t work. I saw the response from y’all on another review saying that I have to be connected to a 2G WiFi signal, but my router automatically switches devices from 2G to 5G depending on distance. Unless y’all are suggesting that I set it outside, what’s your refund policy?

This is bs. Why wouldn’t that be something labeled so that people know what they’re purchasing? My echo device is older than this thing, yet it has 5G compatibility. What a joke.

Great, not perfect
This device is great, yet whenever I’m on Bluetooth and I ask Alexa a question it turns off the Bluetooth and I have to reconnect my device and press the Bluetooth button again. I know this isn’t with my network or phone because I’ve tried other devices and the same thing has happened, please fix this.
Tojagi,
Buyer beware
Alexa doesn’t work. Most apps don’t work. Alarm is useless, only chirps once. (Bought for teen, she sleeps through 1/2 second sound) apps stop working and then Alexa gets confused and doesn’t know what you are talking about. Was using for white noise, at least twice a week, it would stop working and refuse to restart. Would play radio instead of white noise app. Have other Alexa enabled devices that play white noise app, but this is the only one that stops.
Finally got completely disgusted and threw it away.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. DONT BUY!
