laceym2029,
The clock’s functions are useless because of the app
I bought this a year ago because I struggle waking up and falling asleep. When it works, it’s great. But the stress of falling asleep and waking up is replaced by the doubt whether or not it will work at night for me to set it and whether I’ll be able to turn it off in the morning because the Bluetooth won’t sync. And trying to push the bluetooth button on the back, restarting my phone, unplugging the clock and plugging it back in—nothing works. It’s probably the worst expensive product I’ve had.

It has great potential but they cut corners way too far on the app. At night I have to try again and again to close the app and open it to get the alarm on and then start all over to set a timer for sleep mode. It’s a pretty big failure given this isn’t a side feature but literally what it was made to do. I feel like this product takes people who really need a good solution to sleep challenges, takes their money, and delivers the alarm clock version of a magic eight ball. This has been happening for a year and a half. It’s nothing new that they didn’t know about while they kept selling them. I’m sorry but I don’t appreciate that. Feels like a scam and while I love love love the clock when it works, it only works eight percent of the time. If something similar costs 300 bucks, buy that instead.
terbo1970,
Absolutely amazing clock, the app is killing it : (
I recently bought the ihome Zenergy iZBT10. The clock itself is everything I could want in and even a lot I didn’t know I wanted until I experienced it. Multiple sleep modes, multiple alarms, battery backup, USB charging, taking calls and playing music through the clock it’s all good stuff. I was skeptical of the zen lights and sounds, but I’ve come to enjoy it a great deal. To drift off to sleep with the peaceful glow and sounds, and to slowly be taken out of my slumber, instead of being jarred awake with an alarm is something I’ve really come to appreciate. Sadly I have to agree with all reviews on here about the app. It is horrible. I like everyone else cannot reconnect via Bluetooth after the initial setup. I’ve tried everything and it just refuses to connect. When connected it was a very useful and convenient add-on to the clock. It is very inconvenient and cumbersome to mess with the settings from the clock itself, not to mention I cannot do it from my bed now. For a $119 clock and as many bad reviews as I see I would think that ihome would have addressed and resolved this connectivity issue. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update your app to work on par with this great clock.
Pt 2016,
Love the Ihome.... hate the app!!!
Let me first by saying I love love my ihome. But.... the app really needs a lot of work. With all the advances in technology and apple great product lines. I would like to think they have an app that works with the phone. First of all I have to repair every single day when I want to use my sleep or reset my alarm. The app simply doesn’t say connected or reconnects with the phone once it out of range or you leave the house with cell phone. Even though but are linked and paid this step is not automatic. Then once I do start the reconnected / pairing set ups it thanks quiet al few minutes to reconnect even I sit right next to it. For the alarms it seems to hold every setting expect for the radio sound on to wake up to rather that a beeping. I have to reset that every night. Furthermore it would be nice if you are not home to set an alarm away from the I home so you do always have set it the alarm just right before you go to bed. My schedule changes some days day to day. So it would be nice to do before I I have to get to bed.
I'm KC,
Fabulous Device - Impossibly Slow App
The alarm/sleep machine itself is wonderful. It has helped me sleep and the alarm has never failed to work... when I can get my phone and machine to communicate. (I have a 6S Plus running on latest update) The problem is trying to get it to communicate with the app stresses you out immensely before you can go to sleep. You need the calming sounds and lights just to help you unwind from getting the thing started which is counter productive! Apple needs to up their game on connectivity and communication between device and app. I've come to expect much more from them and this is a letdown. I still use this because it was a gift from my husband since I work 12 night shifts and it's helped me sleep during the day. If it wasn't a gift I would return it and find something more user friendly!

UPDATE: I upgraded my phone to the XS Max and the app will not connect at all between the Zenergy and my phone. I downgraded stars for that.
Corrieoh,
Bum app- works only on initial setup
As like other reviews, the app does not work. When I first got the iHome Zenergy, the initial setup was relatively easy and it was awesome exploring the features of the machine from my phone. Unfortunately, you have to reconnect the devices each time you use the app and since my initial setup, I have been unable to successfully reconnect the app in any way- no matter if my phone is feet away or inches. I keep getting the dialog box which asks to make sure you are in range (I am) and that Bluetooth is on (it is). No issues pairing with my phone for music, only with the app. Being patient does not help either, as I tried for about 30 mins, without success. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not help either. Such a bummer, this appears to be an ongoing problem, wish the developers would do something about it. It would easily be an app I would use every day. Hope they can find a fix.
TaiTheTimelord,
This is a bad product and you should be ashamed
On top of the common problems that one has with this product (glitchy Bluetooth, arbitrary disconnect problems, developer solutions that more or less include ‘try doing the thing you have already said doesn’t work’ and ‘turn off the lock function on your phone to prevent the screen from going out and thus disconnecting our glitchy app’) now I am in a situation where Bluetooth audio is not being transferred to the device. I can only assume this is a problem with the app, as the device itself will play audio if it’s auxed in, my phone will connect and play on other devices fine, and the app is the aforementioned piece of work. I am very disappointed and will never purchase another iHome device again, and will be advising friends and family to do the same
Aharri,
Mediocre app, great alarm
Before I get into a review... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make it possible to listen to nature sounds for longer than ten minutes in the morning before switching to an alarm. It would be so simple to add a preset scrolling box for how long you want them to play prior to the alarm going off. ... I’ve had the app for about an hour now and I can see how it can be clumsy, but I’m hoping after I have some favorites designated for alarms that it won’t be a terrible fit to use it. I bought the alarm mainly as a wake up, not as much for going to sleep. As a sleep aid it will be easy to use it manually as I listen to sounds from time to time, not so much need lights in the room. I’m looking forward to using these products, but please make a few more customization options and clean up the bugs!
Za Doc,
Constantly Asks To Setup Device
I installed the app, paired it to my iPhone 6S+ according to the instructions, and the first time I opened up the app, everything worked FLAWLESSLY!
The problem is, when you exit the app and re-open it, it asks you to set up the device each and every single time. I looked in SETTINGS and checked my Bluetooth connections. There are two for this device: one is for the iHome iZB10 App, which it is always connected to, and the other is the iHome iZB10 Device itself which it connects to ONLY after you open the app, and set it up to be recognized yet again.
In short, THE APP
DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE PHONE UNLESS YOU SET IT UP EACH AND EVERY TIME YOU OPEN THE APP.
This is incredibly inconvenient, and the developers need to work on this flaw. Outside of that, once connected, the app works EXCELLENT!
TamWisco,
Same issue as everyone else
I bought this alarm a couple years ago with high hopes. It took me forever to finally use it though due to looking so intimidating with all the buttons. I finally decided to give it a whirl a few weeks ago and was so excited to see that I can set my alarm via an app. That excitement soon fizzled out when, after the first few days, my Zenergy alarm would no longer sync with my phone. I saw the developer response to another reviewer suggesting to hold the Bluetooth button for 10 seconds to reboot, but when I tried that it just made things worse. Super bummed cause of how expensive this alarm is only to be frustrated each night trying to set it. I definitely expected more from an Apple product.
Sdan06,
It doesn’t work
I’ve always loved iHome products and purchased my iHome sleep/alarm clock. The app doesn’t work. I shouldn’t have to re-pair the clock and my i phone all the time. Every day there is something that the iHome won’t do. Turn on, change the sounds and lighting, turn on or off the alarm clock, etc. in fact, right now I can’t get my favorite morning sounds and lighting to turn on. I’ve been working with my iHome for months thinking that I just had to learn how it works because iHome has great product and they wouldn’t sell a product that doesn’t work. I’ve tried to reach support through the app and it doesn’t seem to work either. I’m so disappointed that they haven’t fixed the app. This experience has made me less likely to purchase anything made by iHome.
