Knowing how to play a piano is an exciting talent to develop. If you are a jazz enthusiast, you may have listened to piano music from great artists like Count Basie or Duke Ellington or you might like modern jazz piano players better and there are many who have won the hearts of audiences everywhere. One piano player who crosses many genres is Jim Brickman, who often plays his own compositions, and whose music is played on pop, inspirational, and new age stations.
You may however be more interested in the rock keyboard players, such as Rick Wakeman of Yes, Tony Banks of Genesis, Dennis De Young of Styx, and David Sancious who played for Springsteen, Santana, and Sting or rock piano players such as Elton John, Billy Joel, Carole King, Paul McCartney and Carly Simon.

PIANO KEYBOARD Frequency
The number beside each key is the fundamental frequency in units of cycles per seconds, or Hertz.

OCTAVES
For example, the A4 key has a frequency of 440 Hz.

Note that A5 has a frequency of 880 Hz. The A5 key is thus one octave higher than A4 since it has twice the frequency.

OVERTONES
An overtone is a higher natural frequency for a given string. The overtones are "harmonic" if each occurs at an integer multiple of the fundamental frequency.

durangopeanut,
Goodish
It’s cool to have virtual teacher I just wish you could actually do piano with it like virtually not like immediately have to follow him like actually teach you and it doesn’t really give you levels like if you’re on level one it doesn’t give maybe a gets the lessons a little harder just not a lot
Mr whizzlecheeks,
Has potential
I opened it for the first time and it worked then, crashed. Upon reopening it freezes & crashed again. I tried contacting the developer, but it took me to the Facebook app. Not even to their page. Can we get support for the iPhone 6 plus please?? This app looks like it has tons of potential.
Kingeng20,
Ugh
Just keep crashing
Test on ios 9.1 & 8.4
iPhone 5s & 6s
Aircavmedic,
Outstanding
This has an incredible amount of material. It has someone reading to you. It has diagrams, it is as close as you can come to a virtual teacher. It starts at the beginning, so between this & other music theory apps you can buy from the store, someone can learn a lot by themselves with motivation. This does not take away the need for a real teacher, but it is a good start, & to see if you are even interested in learning to read music & play. But this app is Outstanding. Period. Thank you
amsoell,
Great for novice piano students
I'm a little older than the average beginner piano student, so I was a little hesitant to take lessons at my age. This app has given me a great head start learning to play the piano. I've been using the iPad version for the past week, and the lessons are very well put together and easy to follow. Highly recommended for someone who has always wanted to learn to play the piano, but was too nervous to start taking lessons. Don't put it off another day!
MJZander,
Well worth it
I am really enjoying this app. I ended to supplement my self teaching guide and this fit the bill perfectly. There is a lot of info in this app and the videos are a real pleasure to watch. If your sinus about learning the piano and can't afford lessons, this is the best place to start. I have learned more in one week than I have in several out of the book I'm using.
26Mickey,
Excellent app
It will really help me to learn not only about piano but music theory as well. This can only improve my songwriting skills. It will only help me learn if I apply myself to disciplined learning and practice so it is on me to be dedicated and unfortunately no app can make you practice. But none the less a very good app
Simple Cyanide,
Love it
This app is very resourceful and gives you very useful techniques and skills that will help you learn piano efficiently. I just started and I feel as if I will be able to learn the piano with little or no problems. I will wait and see how it progresses.
Zczcz,
Great Learning Tool!
If you are looking for an app that has a lot of lessons and great video library this is the right app. Use this app to keep your skills polished or if you are just starting out it will be an app you can grow with.
Noodly Pooh,
Exceptional!!!
I have always wanted to learn to play the piano. Unfortunately a tight and constantly changing schedule has forced me to give up on my dream. This app has made my dream a reality! Thank you for making my dream come true!
