After installation, you will be asked for permission when using the following functions for the first time, please enable it.

If the authority is set to invalid, please enable it with the following operation.

[How to print]
Print photos taken with smartphones.
1. Turn on the printer.
2. **Important** By "Settings" app on your smartphone device, Choose "Wi-Fi", turn on the Wi-Fi, and choose and connect the printer SSID (INSTAX-xxxxxxxx, wrote at printer bottom) from the "CHOOSE A NETWORK..." list. (Excute once, will be connected automatically from the next time.)
3. Launch the instax SHARE app.
4. Select image from Photos or SNS, or take photo with a smartphone camera.
5. Once image is selected, press Edit and edit the image (scaling, rotate, filter and template).
6. Post message on a template if template which accepts text is selected.
7. Press "Connect and print." when editting is completed.
8. When you print for the first time, will be asked password for the printer, please enter initial password that is wrote in User's Guide of the printer.
[When you can not update in AppStore]
Phenomenon:
On the AppStore update screen, the instaxSHARE application is displayed in "Available Updates"
However ,Sometimes "Update button" has been changed to "open button",and con not be updated.
Workaround:
Please uninstall the instaxSHARE application and reinstall it.
(When reinstalling, "Reprint image" saved in the application will be cleared.)

The app doesn’t function well
The photo color wasn’t vivid. I’m not sure if that’s because I didn’t turn on the intelligence filter. However, I found the app itself doesn’t function well.
1. Failed to login Instagram. By logging with Instagram, I see the returning error from server.
2. Failed to load the Facebook photos after logging Facebook account. It’s just blank!
3. The only option is to browse the photos from camera roll. However, it’s very hard to browse. You can’t access the albums to pick the favorite ones. You can’t go back to the recent one easily. You can’t edit the photos if they are not originally square. ( my printer is S3 for square pictures)
You have to edit the photos by other photos and saved as new ones to print out easily.
4. The app doesn’t even fit to the latest layout if iOS and iPhone11 Pro Max. You can still see the black areas because this app doesn’t fit to the new sizing of iPhones. I think besides bug fixes. Engineers should work on UI as well. The design is just out of date!
The product quality is good. But the matching app is just like 5 years ago design. iPhone is about to launch iOS14! This app really needs some improvements and it’s not expensive to do so. I also hope the app will be updated to fix the possible private network blocking feature abc other new changes on iOS 14 since I can only linked with WiFi for the printer. I am worried if that’s gonna be a disaster to turn my printer as a junk in next couple months.

Edit: I have since updated my phone to iOS 13.1.2 and it finally works! I tried to print more pictures again today and now my phone connects to my SP-2! I was able to print out the pictures on my phone without any issues. I read another review on here and she said to allow the app to access your location via the real time template on the app. I tried to do it, but was unable to since I was already connected to the printer. However, even without it selected the connection went through and my instax printed everything perfectly. Glad I took some time tonight to give it another chance! For those who had issues before try this method out!
I am so sad that this app no longer works with iOS 13! I just upgraded to the iPhone 11 Pro and with iOS 13 already automatically installed I had NO idea that this app would not work. I tried many times to restart the printer and my phone with no success. However, I tried it on my boyfriend’s phone who still has iOS 12 running and it was able to detect the printer perfectly. I am not sure what I will do once his phone updates... please find a way to make this compatible with the newest iOS. Waste of time
This is ridiculous. This application no longer works w/ my iPhone X. I have the Instax Share SP-1. It used to work just fine and now my device won’t stop blinking green after replacing the batteries and installing new film. On top of that, the app won’t connect to the printer. I have gone through every measure possible- allowing all features, clicking every in app feature beforehand. Everything you can think of. I get to the final step to print and the camera won’t connect while giving me a disclaimer to ‘update the application so I can use the latest features.’ This message pops up just after I’ve installed the application for the 10th time. Again, it’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s more upsetting that their new app for their new device seems to be working fine. I guess FujiFilm has no problem confirming that they don’t support past models and have no problem also confirming that they could care less about their customers. I see others are having the same issues. It’s very unfortunate and very disappointing. We all spent hard earned money for a printer to print memories for another corporation to take advantage and disregard customer service. It’s inexcusable and I hope others will join me in no longer purchasing FujiFilm products. Would be happy to adjust my position if this issue is fixed.

Good hardware, TERRIBLE software
A nice little printer (in theory), hampered by an absolute DISASTER of an iOS app. Truly abysmal software. Connecting from my phone to the printer is slow and unreliable. Printing from Instagram is an exercise of intense frustration, since the app will NOT let you queue multiple pictures for print. You end up having to: a) connect to your WiFi to let the app SLOWLY access your Instagram feed, b) select a picture, c) find your usual template since the app cannot be bothered remembering the last template you used, d) disconnect from your WiFi so you can connect to the Printer, which takes forever and does not always work, and finally e) print the picture. Now REPEAT THIS ALL OVER if you dare printing another photo, since you have to reconnect to WiFi to access your Instagram feed once again, thus losing the connection to the printer. It will boggle your mind. Nothing is cached and usability is a joke throughout. After printing a few photos the app just simply refused to access my Instagram account and would display a "Data could not be acquired" error message instead -- no amount of restarting the app or my iPhone would fix that. So so bad, and the app is never improved, you will read one star reviews on the app store that are one year old or more.

Wish I had come to these reviews before purchasing. I can’t get this printer to connect to my (I)phone, so I called support. The guy immediately said the printer has trouble connecting with new iPhones (software). He had one suggestion, “uninstall the app, turn your phone off and back on, then reinstall the app” (which means I lose connection with him/tech support during the process). So I asked him, “if this doesn’t work, is there any other advice you can give me?”, to which he responded “Well that has usually worked in the past”. I tried reading him error messages the app was giving me and he said he was unfamiliar with them, which makes me wonder why he is even answering the phone. It really felt like he was just trying to get me off the phone, I’m guessing he has to deal with phone calls like mine all day if this is an issue with new iPhones. My last question was “Is this the only trouble shooting option I have? As in, I need to just return the product if turning my phone off and on doesn’t resolve my issue?” To which he replied “You could exchange it.”

Great but don’t update your phone!
I’ve had this instax printer since 2015 and even with all the phones I’ve had (Samsung and Apple) I was always able to connect to the printer. Today I updated my phone to the newest iOS version 13.0 and lo and behold I can’t connect to my printer. I have exhausted all of the options to connect it and I simply can’t 😑. This app and printer are great if you have older phones and not the latest and greatest. Luckily for me, this app still connects to my iPad mini 2 that is still on iOS 12.1.4 which is nice but idk if I’ll ever be able to connect this printer to my phone if the developers don’t update it often. I’ve had this printer for so long that it’s become a habit to document my life through the instax photos, but maybe I should look for alternative options if this is going to be an ongoing issue. I pray that this app gets a makeover and makes it easy for us loyal users to keep using it.

Weak App, User Interface, and Connection
1. Can’t connect to your own WiFi while connected to the printer. So you can’t download photos from the cloud or other location at the same time. This should be a blue torch connection, or the printer should be able to connect to my WiFi at the same time as my phone.
2. Errors of “this image cannot be used” for nearly all of my pictures. No indication of why or how to fix it. Had to search forums, and EVERYONE has this problem. Seems it all has to do with the Instax App not interfacing correctly with your photos on your phone.
3. Expensive for the printer and the film and to have all this trouble on day 1 is ridiculous
4. Poor software QA and real world testing with your “average” person.
5. Will be returning and buying Something else. Not because the printer is bad, but because the APP is horrible. Bad UI, bad programming, bad design.

My phone can connect to the printer’s WiFi fine but then on the app it says not connected on the app/ cannot find printer. I tried every troubleshooting option suggested online and even re-installing etc but still could not get it to connect again.
In the end, I figured out that it was due to the iOS version because I dug out my old iPhone 8 (still on iOS 12), installed the app and then reset the printer to factory settings as prompted and violá—it’s printing again!! 🤯
What’s the point of buying an expensive printer if you guys are just going to give up on the app?? It’s been a year since this has gotten an update so I’m really losing hope in getting my SP-2 to print again unless I use an older phone. I prefer the overall sleek aesthetic and shape of the SP-2 but I was planning on getting their new device to keep in my bag until this happened 😡 Clearly they abandoned this version and are focusing on the new app for their Mini Link...if this is the direction they’re going in where they just develop a new app for every release, why would I spend another $100 on a device that clearly still works??

Loved it, now useless
Please update the app! I bought my instax printer sp 1 about 2 1/2 years ago and printed amazing photos from this printer. It’s a easy app to use where I can pick and choose which photos from my album I want to print or reprint again. However, nothing works now as I go to reach for my printer. My printer is connected and when I go click print photo- it says the printer is not connected and that I need to update the app but the app is already up to date from what the Apple store is telling me. This is frustrating knowing that my printer is in mint condition because I still keep it in its bubble wrap slip and box when I first purchased and now it won’t print my photos which makes it useless! Plus I had also recently purchased new batteries for this baby which are not cheap. Fix the issue please! I would like to continue to use my printer!!!!
