This app does not include the premium videos from the website or the the 45 minute "How to Knit: A Complete Introduction." beginner series. But all the other free videos from the website are included in this app for quick access.

Also Amy Finlay has included an introduction section to help new knitters get up to speed. The introduction covers topics such as choosing a first project, selecting yarn and needles, casting on, knit and purl stitches, gauge, and more.

NOTE: Just like on the website, some of the smaller videos do not have sound and are meant to be followed visually. These are typically simpler videos such as increases and decreases and are very easy to discern by watching.

trvlr88,
No knitting 'bag' is complete without this!
This app has been a Godsend! It has helped me refresh my advanced skills as i seem to have forgotten more about knitting then i thought possible!
It has helped me teach newbies to the craft without PHYSICALLY being there! It is such a great reference! The videos are such high quality & close shot that they show the minute details and intricacy of the stitches. The audio & suggestions are also much relied on, as i have learned even more from the tips given during the videos then from all of the experienced knitters in my knitting club.
The helpful stitch abbreviations are invaluable! I can read how the stitches work as well as SEE them! This app is well thought out since i can use it without having to be online, which makes this app THE BEST, well executed, highly organized knitting tool around! Thank you!
P.S. can you do one for crochet too! :)
SFCalgal,
Updated! Fabulous knitting help! Don't knit without it!
Update-I was getting warning notices that this app had not been updated in some time and would not be compatible with iOS 11. I am delighted to see that they did do an update and it is just as useful as it was in the past and I am very please that I will be able to continue to refer to it. My review stands.

I recently resumed knitting after a nearly 30 break. Back when I knitted for my baby daughter and now I'm knitting for her baby daughter. So some of my skills are a bit rusty and having this app to refresh them, and to learn a few new ones as patterns may call for. The information is presented clearly and is easy to follow and understand. I love it!
Knittindoc,
Over the top
Consider yourself, as I was, floating in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea on a gorgeous cruise ship, sitting on your veranda knitting a tiny pair of socks that were the only thing that fit in your carry on bag. Ooops. You've just totally forgotten how to do a SSK, and you try a few failed attempts and know you're ruining those beautiful socks.
But you're screwed, because internet is a buck fifty a minute at sea, and voila, you remember Knitting Help is loaded on your phone!!! Problem solved!!
I've been knitting in National Parks with no access and repeatedly can go back and watch the already downloaded videos 12x til my feeble brain gets it!!
Love this app!!! Would pay 4 times its price for it!
Kristenella,
Best knitting reference, anywhere you need it
This is one of the first apps I downloaded once I got a phone with enough memory. It definitely takes up some space, but is so worth it. Having all the Knitting Help videos accessible even when there's no wifi or cell service has made for much easier car/train/dead-zone knitting. Plus, the amount of time and effort that went into making these tutorials is crazy, so I feel better about constantly using the resource now that I've actually paid a little for it.
TheBroad,
So useful, so big
Update: I had deleted this app due to its unbearable size but downloaded it again when I noticed it had been updated. It is still big and still does not allow for archiving videos. There is SO MUCH space taken up by videos that videos that experienced knitters do not need. The information is great, but please let us choose which videos we want to store in memory.

Original review: I love this app. I downloaded it to take into rural China so I could knit and not worry about getting stuck. The only thing I would strongly suggest is to update the app to allow users to delete videos they know they will never need. I do not need the English style videos or basic k/p and having that extra space on my phone would be nice.
Freakonomist,
WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
This app is 100% worth every penny you pay! I'm a continental knitter of 7 years and any time I run into a new stitch I go straight here! Being that I carry my yarn in my left hand I often meet people that can't help me since they are English knitters (carry their yarn in their right hand). This app makes a world of difference in those situations since videos for both English and Continental styles are offered. I'm also a very hands on learner so I need to see AND do things to learn them. The videos are clear and I can rewind them as much as I need. You need this app! Trust me!
ItsMeTamitha,
Lifesaver!!!
I am a new knitter and absolutely love this app! It has saved me several times when I was in a bind and the best part about it is you do not have to have Internet access to view the content. So far there has been a video tutorial for everything I've needed to know and usually several different options too. I knit Continental and I appreciate the option to see tutorials in my particular knitting style/technique. I would love to find the same app for crochet.

THANK YOU for creating this fantastic app for us. Absolutely worth every penny!
tba :),
Great app!
This app is great! I am a knitter who can't read instructions! It all seems like I'm reading directions in a different language. With the help of this app, I've been able to go on and look up any part of my instructions and see a wonderful video of how to do the stitches. I love the voice videos. The lady's voice is very pleasant and she goes slow enough to follow her. Please make more and more videos with new stitches or cast ons to help even more! That would be so nice. Thank you for this lovely app to help me knit and knit and knit!
folklover,
My go to source
I downloaded this app when she first published it as an extension to her website. The website has always been invaluable to me and now this app is a must have on all my devices. I can never remember how to start the Kitchener stitch and I use this resource every time to get me started. I use it for so much more. When I run across a stitch, or technique, I am unfamiliar with I first go to this app before the Internet for information. I can not rate this highly enough. Well worth the cost!!!
LMCR9,
Love it!
As a new knitter, I depended on the Knitting Help website to help with new techniques. Now that I've been knitting for years, it's still helpful to have refresher on a certain technique, and I can always learn something new. But it's not always convenient to run to my computer. Having these videos and tips right on my phone is a great resource. The videos are clear, the app is organized in an easy-to-navigate fashion, and there are tons of helpful tips and instructions---I love it!
