This is a community portal application for members of Shacknews.com, a website dedicated to video game news coverage. Shacknews.com has in-depth reviews, interviews, and breaking news on every major platform and developer. This application allows perusal of comment threads on the website's stories. Participation requires a valid account username and password.

Awesome but Addictive
I love this application and can assure you that the positive reviews were made by actual users who had been waiting for this application for a while. Unfortunately, it can also be addictive as hell, leading to a general inability to stop using your iphone when out of reach of your computer. If you don't already know what this application is, you should not download it - it has probably led to tears. Really amazing application, but it might not be appreciated by the casual user.

as a shacker it is my obligation to read (if not reply to) every thread. impossible you say? why no my little friend; today we garner in a new era. while previously on the (shuga)shack posts were handled by pony express and flame wars about pointy elbows took place over months, through the miracle of technology you can instantly share your personal emo post from anywhere. welcome to a world of lavatorial linguistics, perambulatory potification and automotive...something. your boss may wonder why your productivity has fallen to a level only seen in lab animals who's brains were removed for experimentation, but he just doesn't get it man.

Good app that caters a niche demographic
Shacknews is a PC and video game community website. Its message boards while a great design in using the latest Web technologies. It was designed easily to be used on a desktop/laptop web browser. However, browsing the message board with an iPhone is a pain. The third party LatestChatty app reduces the pain browsing and posting on it. The app does its job well. Although, I wish there was a better solution than installing a dedicated iPhone app.
By the way, the other 5 star reviewers aren't marketing droids.

My favorite app
The #1 reason to have an iPhone, to browse the Shack on the go. Excellent UI, very snappy, posting is a breeze, tag support. This app is going to get so much use from me, which I can't claim about many other 3rd party apps.

BEWARE
You should be a member of this site for a while before you bother posting anything or adding the app because if you are not you will be ridiculed and probably even banned. There are rules and they are easy to break if you don't know the site. It is mostly a community site for video games. Seriously, you should not add this if you are not already a member of that community. Join and read for a while before you decide to post or add this app.

Sweet!
I haven't used this in the throne room yet but man, I can't wait! Awesome apps to quickly and easily browse the latest chatty on shacknews. Only problem is the front page won't get much love :(.
