Description

LeagueApps Play is a team management and communications app that is totally free for players, parents, coaches and staff to download––and it’s ad-free too.

You just need to be registered to a team or tournament supported by LeagueApps to use the Play app to view schedules, RSVP, send communications, and more. Simply sign in to the app with the same email and password credentials used when you registered for the team.

Play helps coaches better manage their teams, communications, games and events—providing a better sports experience for parents and athletes! The app automatically syncs schedules, rosters, tournament brackets, and more, directly from LeagueApps, so there’s no double data entry or extra maintenance required.

Designated Coaches and Staff can use the Play app to:
- Communicate high priority coach notes which will be sent as emails and push notifications, and displayed as alerts in the app (so no one misses them!)
- Create and manage games and events, with instant notifications
- Add custom locations and include external teams when adding games and events
- Track attendance as your team arrives
- Enter game scores directly in the mobile app
- View roster and player details, including invoice status

Players, Parents, Coaches, and Staff can use the Play app to:
- View team schedules for all family members on teams and tournaments registered through LeagueApps

Introducing a whole new way to Play! Coaches’ lives are about to get so much easier with new features like Coach notes, Custom locations, Score input, and the Home feed surfacing the more important information. We’re giving Coaches the autonomy to manage their own teams, locations, and scores through the mobile app to improve parents and players’ team experience.

Want more details? Happy to help! We’ve improved Play’s design and navigation so it’s easier to see the most important information at the right time, including in a new Home feed. This includes coach notes which are high priority staff messages that will be sent as emails and push notifications, and displayed as alerts in the app (so no one misses them!). We’ve also added more event management features for coaches, allowing staff to create and add custom event locations on the fly, as well as input scores after the games directly in the mobile app.

Now, go focus on what’s important—play!

smobrien85,
Just ok
Get a lot of errors when creating new events.
The worst thing as a manager about the app/platform - I hate that I can’t add my player’s family members myself. It would be so much easier if I could add them like I can with sport’s engine. The parents/guardians have to add each other including grandparents who usually have trouble with technology then it becomes a mess of extra accounts or accounts that aren’t linked. It’s a nightmare for our registrar that has to deal with all these family/parent account issues. If we had the ability to do it instead of the families it would be so much smoother.

Good recent updates:
I am happy to see that now you can update the locations and opponents yourself.

Disliked Recent Updates:
Now you have to click on the home and away teams with games. Id rather just be able to type it in the event it’s much easier and faster.

Seriously needs improvements in the app when creating events. Constant getting error codes that “event was not created” and then I try to do it again to realize it actually was created and now it’s in there 2 or 3xs
bergertime,
Good, getting better
Been using LA for about a year now. It’s good, but there are still a few—if not critical, at least VERY helpful (and simple)—things that need to be fixed.

1. PLEASE stop including managers and coaches in the RSVP count. I’m trying to count the number of PLAYERS I have available, and having to scroll through and see if my coach or another manager “RSVP’d” and therefor I have a false count is a waste. Alternatively, give both counts, players and total.

2. Allow managers/coaches to edit players’ RSVPs. Sometimes I get a verbal RSVP, sometimes a game gets deleted and re-added, sometimes a million other things. As a manager, let me edit a player’s RSVP. The count is mostly for the manager and/or coach anyway, so give the person who is using it control of it.

3. Allow me to filter the calendar by event type. Sometimes I just want to just see the game RSVPs for the upcoming weeks…I don’t need to see every practice.

Again, it’s a good app, and it’s clear it’s being worked on for improvement. These upgrades would make a world of difference to manager users.
Joe Jack Wood,
Good. Can be great.
Working towards being a great tool for little league coaches. One comment/improvement. In the chat feature can you make “Copy” as an option for the text boxes? Typed out a long welcome note that I don’t think my team saw. I wanted to copy and paste it into an email and couldn’t. As of now I only have the option to delete the message.
ImpactSA,
Underwhelming functionality
Got League Apps to manage our club and it feeds into League Apps Play. The RSVPs never go off your screen, messages disappear out of the chats, only primary parents are on the app. Apparently only one parent in the know is a okay. My divorced parents love this feature!! The notification badges show 20+ messages, but you only have one. The calendar only shows team events. Your other registrations for camps, clinics, tryouts, etc don’t show on your calendar. Confusing, right? Did you or didn’t you register? No picture sharing on this app or the ability to send an email instead. Extremely unimpressed with the layout and functionality for an app that is supposed to be a comprehensive communication tool.
Tyler30350,
Much better apps available
This app covers most of the basics, but is nowhere as complete as other free apps like TeamSnap and GameChanger. One of the biggest gaps I’ve seen is that there is no way to receive a prompt or notification from the app when there’s a post to the group chat. The only way to see any of those posts is to go into the chat section of the app to see if anyone has posted or responded to a previous post. Thats a basic and necessary feature that exists in every other team management and communications app I’ve seen.
JessiVigg,
Terrible
This app is terrible. You get multiple notifications every time someone sends a message (I’m assuming one for you and one for each kid on the team …. Which for me means I get three notifications for every single message!)
You can’t even see all the game’s information on the app, you either have sync the games to your calendar to see the info or open up League Play in your internet browser.
This app cannot even compare to Team Snap. Our whole team is disappointed with the switch from Team Snap.
Abidingdude32,
Worst team app I’ve used
I’ve used at least 4 other team apps that are far better than this one. Even the features that work aren’t as good as other apps. To make matters worse, the chat function stopped working for me weeks ago. I get notifications when guys from my team post a message, but when I open the chat function, it’s completely blank. Had 20+ chat notifications when I opened it today and all I get is a blank screen. Look elsewhere.
love it but want an update,
Great app for my youth football program
I love the app and how it provides a quick means of communication. I wish it had a feature for organizers to message all teams at one time on the app. I find myself going into each groups chat to send the same message.

It’s a simple user friendly app. My parents love jr.
BuyMeDrinks!,
Terrible App
This app is awful! I wish my leagues would transfer to something else! It’s not easy to navigate to find what you want. It also does not stay updated. I have to go to the website to get current information. Finally, it freezes and glitches out quite often. If you’re looking for an app or website like LeaugeApps to manage your season, this is not the one!!

Developers: do not contact me. I don’t care what you have to say, nor do I have time for your lame excuses.
BagRag Mom,
Solid app. Does the job.
This app works well if you have registered through LeagueApps. Has all the information and is easy to use. Looking forward to adding more feature - which it seems like they are starting to do.
