I’m still learning hiragana and Kanji so this app is great for building vocabulary without being held back by written language. The audio goes along with pictures so you can learn by associating the words with pictures which helps to mitigate constant translation of English to Japanese, rather you see the image and can identify it in Japanese. The Romanji is great during studying but I wish it was shown during the test part, too. Also, please make a way to adjust the settings to turn off the chime that sounds in between flash cards because it gets really annoying after the first few words! Overall, Awesome tool to build vocabulary!

as a high school student, I decided to take on the challenge of teaching myself Japanese through the use of instructional mobile apps. I have to say, this app is one of my favorite apps, primarily because it is quick, easy, and gets to the point. I learned and memorized the Japanese names and spellings of a few basic animals, as well as the numbers one through ten in less than twenty minutes. I'd recommend this app to those who wish to pursue learning Japanese without wanting to spend hours taking notes in a class or sitting in front of a computer screen or tutor. very easy, very functional, very informative, and VERY EFFICIENT!

I'm in middle school, and I've always wanted to learn Japanese my whole life. The only choices in middle school though are Spanish and French. I've decided to learn Japanese on my own, without tutor. I'm so determined, I've downloaded every Japanese leaning app hat I could find, and out of all of them, I'm calling this one out because they make it very easy to understand and it's very straight forward and easy to follow so you can get a start at very basic Japanese. It includes body parts, animal names, numbers 1-10 and more. I hope the creator adds more soon. Definitely recommend! 😉⭐️❤️💖💜😜💙💚💜

I enjoyed the free lessons! I learned the words quickly, pronunciation & picture association were pretty easy. There were a few that took a few times to get but practice will make it easier. I had learned the numbers 1-10 when I was younger up to ten but #4 & 7 were different. I didn't learn zero. The characters are more difficult but I guess if I go over it more times my mind will memorize it. Or I can use another program that I have that allows finger tracing to learn to write Japanese. But I like the word/picture association better on this program.

Oh my gosh! This app is so helpful and fun! I’ve never been able to learn a new language this fast! I’ve been on for 4 minutes and I’ve already learned numbers from 0 to 9! All you need to do is be persistent with your practice! And the tests help me too! Not only is this app easy to use, plus free, it is so easy to understand I was able to take notes! If there was one thing I wish they would add is maybe a reminder to practice or a schedule. Can’t wait to use this app more and see how it improves in the future! I would 100% recommend this app to beginners in learning Japanese!

This is a great way to immerse yourself into the Japanese language. I am using index cards to copy the "script," this helps me remember what the word means and also forces me to practice my writing the various characters. If you are looking for grammar and sentence structure, this app may not be for you, but if you want to jump into learning Japanese by both hearing pronunciation and seeing the script, you should enjoy this app. Takes the fear factor out of learning this challenging language ... Plus it is fun! You can build your vocabulary (and thus confidence) with the everyday words you learn in here.

It needs a simple level then change to a mid-level into a hard level using sentences rather than just the word at the end in order to teach that ear to hear this different sounds. The advertisements would be better to be in bundles rather than with every lesson because they become distracting and annoying. Advertising is something that is needed I’m sure, but it would be better to put it at the end and have it as a choice of advertisement for something that you would be interested in rather than just throwing things out that most people are not interested in. Perhaps advertising for further education in Japanese, since Japanese was the app chosen.

As a college student who took two semesters of immersive beginners Japanese I downloaded this app primarily so that I wouldn't lose what I had learned over the summer when I wasn't using it every day. The app is a little simple for my liking and not quite challenging enough but it still managed to teach me some things my Sensei didn't get the chance to. It's a simple way to practice and a easy way for beginners to learn the words but it won't teach you everything...Specifically not the intensely difficult sentence structure and grammar of Japanese. I suggest a class for that. It's the worlds second most difficult language for a reason.

Japanese is one of the main languages that I have been wanting to learn. Since I know only honorifics, a few numbers, and a couple animals. However I only was able to get five lessons and I think they were random. If they could add in more and possibly something where you have to reach a certain milestone to get more packs. It also quizzes you which is good because it shows how much you remember each lesson because learning another language isn't that easy for some people.

This is a fun app to learn with. I'm using it to improve my vocabulary and proficiency in the Taijutsu class. There is a short lesson with pictures and the Japanese word written above it, and the word spoken to you in Japanese. At the end of the lesson you take the test and match the English word with what is shown, written, and spoken to you. The only improvement I would recommend for this app is the option to see the English word and speak the Japanese word into the mic on the phone. However, as is, the app gets 5 stars in my opinion.
