Hidden Gem!
How is this app not more popular? It is hands down the best Chinese learning app. Heck, it’s the best language app period out of all the ones I’ve tried for various languages. I love that they make much of the content available for free for those who can’t afford it. But for $8 to unlock the whole app, it’s a steal. I would’ve gladly paid a higher one time payment. Most language apps have unfortunately gone down the subscription model road, and I highly hope this app doesn’t do that because it deters a lot of people from signing up and learning. I love the graphics, music, games, and other educational features. I sincerely hope that this app one day gets the attention it deserves and becomes the top selling Mandarin Chinese app. And I would love to see this company branch out to apps on other languages if possible (like Japanese or other Chinese dialects).

Great compliment to have/use
Great tool to use to get into Chinese and the pronunciation. The location/context based learning is very effective. I started a formal course and this is way better than that at a basic level, but having a teacher and book gives you some additional information or makes it easier with some of the letters that aren’t pronounced as they are written. I suggest you take a Chinese course to make this tool even more powerful.
Suggestions: I think it needs a better search tool for words and phrases. Not limited to what you have seen already either. Also it should let you group up words and phrases contextually in the book word bank. It gets too cluttered otherwise. The tests also could be better as they are bit sized. Other type of tests would be nice. Like having the missions self generate conversations in another stage or in the review section. I would add a web browser stage with words for all the things we use online.

Best Mandarin Learning App
I've used several apps to learn Mandarin, and this is easily the best one. It covers all the major aspects of the language, such as character recognition, HSK, chengyu, and strokes. The gamification is a great system to keep you interested, and the mini games are a fun "study break" (although sometimes it relies less on your Mandarin knowledge and more on game aspects, which is fair for a game).
My only recommendation is a more where you can practice exclusively writing. The minigames so far tackle character recognition, identifying tones, and vocabulary. aminigame where you focus solely on writing would be nice, or if not a game then a study option.
Overall a solid Mandarin learning app, highly recommend!

The BEST language based app period.
I found this app while looking to learn more Mandarin. This has everything from writing to detailed tips of understanding, traditional / simplified, listening, call and response, and fun atmosphere game design which makes it seem like a Mandarin translation video game guide. I can store words i want to collect and so much more. The only thing I haven’t seen ( maybe because I haven’t bought it yet ( which i will shortly)) is a verbal audio way to make sure you’re able to speak it correctly. Every other apps has that but doesn’t have many of the features this does. Thanks to the developers!!! Xiè xie

Great Concept
I love this app! There’s not enough lessons at the moment but the daily words and chengyu and HK lists are helping me learn new stuff all the time. I really like the interactive environment and the challenges.
That being said, I completed challenge 29 and now the app is frozen and I have no access to it :(
Please help. This happened before and I re-downloaded the app assuming that it would save my data but that was not the case. Now that is has happened again, I can no longer access the app.

Absolutely stunning app!
I took a year of Chinese back in high school and really enjoyed it then but I graduated and didn’t get to continue my studies. Languages are one of my biggest passions and finding a good source of learning on my phone is hard, especially if it’s a plain app. The visuals in this app are stunning and I loved refreshing my memory with this app. Although, I want to learn Japanese more so if you guys made one for Japanese I would absolutely, no doubt, pay the price for it! 这真酷！谢谢你们！

Incredible!
This is THE best Mandarin app and I have tried so many. I love how it feels like a game yet there is so much content. From day 1, I was engaged with the lessons, and I love how you can tap on scenes and collect new vocabulary. I can also now, thanks to this app, write several Hanzi characters from scratch with correct stroke order. Did not know how to do that before downloading this app. Thank you to the creators, this is a masterpiece of an app and I’m so happy I found it!

Beautiful visuals and great interactivity :-) 1 area of critique...
The UI on this app is incredible! Such beautiful artwork makes the gameplay very accessible and engaging. However after using this app for a while, I find myself not totally retaining all the vocab because I don’t learn them in context. I think it would be incredibly helpful if beyond the definition of each character, there were also examples of its use.

This is a really awesome game!!! I too am surprised more people aren't using it. The lessons are short and helpful, additionallhbthe inclusion of pinyin and character strokes lesson is so unique to apps but incredibly useful. Although the voice is a little robotic, it's an easy but fun way to practice and get familiarity with the language. Also, the environments are beautiful and being able to explore and learn new words by tapping items is a great feature!!! Keep it up, love the game!!

Great app with no bait n switch!
This is the way apps should work ! Unlike Fieldrunners2 which takes yer money and then doesn’t allow you to use the so called bonus coins etc! I have purchased this app and I am a happy camper. Why pay money and even expensive subscription for the other popular Chinese apps? This app is entertaining as well as suitable educational value.
