Robot Commander is the official command app from LEGO® MINDSTORMS®. FREE to download on most smart devices; Robot Commander connects via Bluetooth to the EV3 Intelligent Brick. This easy to use app allows you to interact with your very own EV3 robots without even connecting to a computer! That means you can play instantly with your own robots!
EV3RSTORM – with integrated voice control software to command EV3RSTORM’s every move. (Limited to 20 commands per day)
R3PTAR – at the shake or flick of your wrist, R3PTAR slithers and strikes with cobra-like movements
TRACK3R – at your thumb tips, you control TRACK3R’s mechanical tracks to steer your way out of danger, and hammer, shoot or clear your path using the interchangeable tools.
SPIK3R – pinch control SPIK3R’s clasping claws, whilst the joystick controls forward and side movement, plus a shoot button commands the lightning tail.
GRIPP3R – with the thumb-controlled joystick, steer GRIPP3R to your target and at a touch of a button, lift and carry the item to its destination.
Once you’ve enjoyed playing with the 5 EV3 robots, how about creating your own commands using the integrated “Create & Command your own Robots” widget within the app.

Good app, just needs some changes
This app is pretty good, but the connection to the EV3 brick gets worse every year, but today it isn’t happening at all. That’s kinda sad. And yes, this is 2020 😑

Awesome app!!!
This app is great! I haven’t had any problems. It’s wireless (which is great for people like me who are always tweaking something on the design and are back and forth) you don’t need to start a program it’s just hook up and go. The only problem I’ve really had is when I exit the app and go back in to the editor section I have to the build and go back in but otherwise its awesome

App is still functional
Many people point out that the connectivity of the app is sometimes rough, to the point of not detecting your brick at all. Make sure to update your brick’s firmware to 1.10E, the final update. This can only be done on PC using a discontinued version of the standalone software, as the automatic online updating software is broken. Look for a tutorial on Google.

Suggestions for the robot
Now I’m not trying to sound like a spoilt brat, but the remote that comes with it is way to small, and the controls are bad, I think you should make a separate remote that uses joysticks and other buttons. On other thing is, you are losing to vex!! Anyway that is my suggestion, so please read this.

This app is pretty decent… When it works. And it very, very, very rarely works. It is horrible. Most of the control functions control the motors for a little while and then stop functioning almost immediately. You’ll never know if it actually works until you’ve tested it, and even then it could stop working right after you test it. It is horribly unreliable, and I can guarantee that the robot was still connected while this was happening so it’s not a Bluetooth issue.

How this app could be improved
I like lego mindstorms, it is awesome but I can't say the same for the app. First the build your own controller workspace is too small. Second there are some severe problems with connectivity, sometimes I will let go of the controls and the robot will continue to move, last I think that there should be programmable buttons for the custom controller. Other than that it is a good app.

Needs a better update
I like the app, my students love it as well. The problem is the connectivity. It takes almost 3 minutes to find the Lego Brick, another 2 minutes to sync. 20% of the time it fails.

It really needs a fix
I like it my favorite one is the r3ptar but the controls are broken very very very very broken it took me two days to make it but the controls are broken so I spent all that time for nothing pls fix it before 2021 pls it’s so cool but does not work :( pls do it :((😿😿😿😿😿

Decent app but it needs improvement
This app works for barebones and minimalistic builds, but the tiny grid for customizing remote controls is just not big enough for anything substantial and i just ends up falling short.
