My General and Front Desk channel turn black when I try to use them. So I am unable to communicate like I’d like too.

This was a really great service before their pricing restructure. I used this when I couldn’t afford to go to an in-person doctor for a very simple prescription and I’m sure it helped a lot of other people too. Now it’s a $100/month subscription service? That’s insane. The greed never ends. No wonder no one seems to use it anymore, it used to be really popular. Only a dozen reviews in 3 years is a little concerning.

The new app is a major update that seriously speeds up the interface and makes everything easier to use.

I love having access to my primary care physician at anytime. The app is intuitive and easy to use. I could never go back to a traditional doctors office setting for primary care, SteadyMD has spoiled me!

TLDR: This service is a great one but be sure you take it for a thorough spin before your first 30 days are up, and don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and switch providers if you feel it necessary to do so. In terms of accessibility, as a blind individual using VoiceOver, the app is very accessible with the exception of the Send button and the button to send photos and files. That button can only be accessed with VoiceOver turned off and is about a third of the way up the screen, on the far right.

I found this app via a Facebook ad, and was intrigued enough to give it a try. In terms of getting matched with a doctor, I highly suggest that you take this for a thorough test drive during your first 30 days because if you find that it is not your cup of tea, you will need to be sure you cancel during that first month. Failure to do so will result in you having a year-long commitment that you will resent without much recourse since it is clearly stated in their contract. With that being said, build rapport with your doctor. Ask them about your sleep issues, get that exercise advice, find out their take on complementary medicine, ask for new paleo recipes, etc. This is a great way to both be your own advocate and also to see if you click. I'm not suggesting that if the doctor doesn't respond lickety split that you can them, because most will have both this virtual practice and their traditional brick-and-mortar practice, plus a family like all of us. What I am suggesting though is that you insure you feel comfortable enough to ask anything you feel is relevant, including taking a picture of that mole you've had questions about even if it's located in an unflattering or sensitive area, without shame or hesitation. I believe that a doctor is one of the most important partners you can have in your life, and that it is essential to feel comfortable enough with them to discuss anything pertaining to your health, perhaps things your own family may not even know. If you don't feel that connection and have any sort of hesitation, reach out to the company and ask for another match, because a quiz may help you find someone who is a great match on paper (I actually tried choosing based on Yelp reviews because the doctor I wanted via my quiz was not available), but a quiz and Yelp reviews don't take into account your personality and theirs. Also, if it isn't absolutely essential that you have a gender match, then please consider both because you just never know where you will find your match. The company will allow you to switch to another provider if you write in and ask.

In terms of the app itself, I am a blind individual using VoiceOver. Most of this app works without any hitch using the service. However, the Send button and the button to share photos and files is not readable with VoiceOver. To access this button, you will need to disable the screen reader. The button you want is going to be located at the far right of the screen, about a third of the way up on the screen. It is above the keyboard where you type, but underneath the text that you have written to your doctor). Unfortunately, the app doesn't provide any kind of haptic feedback to enable you to know that you have pushed it. Therefore, you will need to re-enable VoiceOver and see if it was sent. If your message was successfully sent, you will hear yours, be taken out of the edit field where you type, and will also hear "New Message", which you can double tap to go back and type in more information if needed. The button to send photos is the exact same one as sending messages, however you must not have typed anything in the text box. If successful, you will get to an accessible dialogue box that enables you to take a photo, use one from your photo library, or attach a file from the Cloud.

The service is wonderful. I really like my provider. However this is a review of the app, which is not great. The most current update had a bug fix for the auto update not working properly. Ironically the update itself was installed and now it won’t load. I get a gray screen and it never loads—the very issue the update was supposed to fix. Additionally it would be nice if the app showed upcoming appointments. There’s nowhere to see that information.

I can login via the site but the app says my account doesn’t exist. Who got overpaid for developing this app???

Cannot create an account, login, access anything. I took the quiz and that didn't do anything. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

I thought I was signing up for an easy way to find a doctor, communicate, and make appointments. This is app is not that. My fault for not doing more research before I signed up but the service doesn’t make anything clear until you actually get someone on the phone. The app is weird and just sends you to a webpage for most requests, you can’t book in-person appointments, and you pay a monthly fee even if you don’t use it, so if you’re like me and just need a doctor a few times a year you’re just throwing money away.
