FINALLY! I've added gear list autoupdate so no more having to do new app releases for a new gear list. The next time and every time you go to add gear it'll be the newest list from the server.

Do you like manuals? I've made sure that the 1000 most popular models now have links to manuals. I've also updated the list of gear (and made selecting Zeiss gear work again). And then I noticed that a couple other things weren't working correctly so I fixed those, too.

- I've refreshed the gear list by hiring a photo & video gear expert to edit all 15,915 gear items with more on the way. Can you believe we have that many?
- I've changed input area for "model" when adding gear to a multiline box that grows as you type so you can better see what exactly you're adding.
- I've enlarged font size for model & serial number input to hopefully cut down on typos.
Fixes:
- I've fixed issue where sometimes gear would double the brand name (e.g. Canon Canon). I'll make changes on the backend in the coming days to fix any already doubled brand names there so there's no need to re-add gear.
- I've fixed issue when selecting gear to add. Sometimes the gear wouldn't show up.
- I fixed a few things that were annoying me personally, like how the gear list was organized internally.

Easy to use
I really will not know how good this app is until (hoping not) my gear is unwillingly separated from me, but it was easy to add my camera gear and the corresponding serial numbers.
I love that they make you take a photo of your SN to prove the authenticity, plus track the location 😎.
There could be. More explanation on how to enter your equipment names, but there are suggested ones that automatically pop up that you can modify to meet your needs.
Can't wait to see if any of my photos come up on the web. Cool feature, but not sure how well it will work, until it finds something.

Don't waste your time or money
First, this app does nothing the web site doesn't do. But that's not saying much, because the app and the web site are a complete waste of your time and money if you are foolish enough to pay for the "pro" (LOL) version.
The problem is that this site does nothing. The one-man-show doesn’t even respond to support tickets for months. Heck, there’s not even a way to mark an item of yours as not stolen if you recover your items. The site purports to search the web looking for images with your gear’s EXIF data, but it does no such thing. It purports to protect your images by searching for unauthorized use of them, but it doesn’t do that, either.
It’s just a crude database with a poorly-designed interface that collects your camera info. This don’t-quit-your-day-job operation over-promises and under-delivers on the hope that you’ll pay for an annual subscription of snake oil.

iPad
Needs a way to upload screenshots for mobile device serial numbers. iPad is a big part of my equipment, as well as my soon to purchase iPhone. Other than that great app.

Doesn't work as claimed
Company claims they've recovered stolen goods but no hard evidence except for claimed statements. I recently had my camera and lens stolen but I still had images from my stolen setup. Gave it a go and tested out by uploading images to popular online image hosting websites and made sure images had all appropriate exif data embedded in the files. Gave it a good 3 weeks and zero notifications on my test images.

Great idea!
Lenstag is an idea that is long overdue! The program is easy to use, and I like having a catalog of all my gear, just in case the worst happens. And if it leads to even one thief being caught, its done its job.

What am I signing up for?
I'm not making a claim that this app is trying to scam anyone, but without explaining as to what exactly I'm signing up for before asking for my email address seems very sham-y. No intro, no using this app at all before you have to send them your email.
Until this is changed and I see some other positive reviews here, the author can forget about me using this app.

Problems adding items and spotty support
I have only added 2 items and got errors verifying both of them. I wrote the author an email describing the issues and it took him over a month to reply. Then only to ask a question. No solutions. I could honestly recommend this product at this time.

Unsatisfactory experience
Used this app off and on. Great at first but later versions were plagued by bugs. Links will not open. Can not copy the links out as a workaround.
Alert system seems to work after having to manually update settings only to have no new alerts.
