Description
It’s primarily about getting closer with you family and friends in the fight against cancer. Cancer is a tough and relentless opponent and you’re stronger when you’re not alone, there will be hard days, there will be good days, if you do not have someone to share the process with, it simply becomes difficult.
Why now? Because so many around me have been affected by cancer, few have overcome the cancer but far too many good people have lost the battle. My personal experience is that it’s so difficult to keep up with the progress from the sideline, even with very close relatives.
Time also plays a role in it, when is the next treatment? when was the last scan? Why is there such a long time between treatments? It is difficult to keep up because we’re all just so busy in our everyday life, everyone is busy but for the patient time stands still.
There are so many things we talk about and there are so many things we don’t talk about, serious illnesses are difficult to be open about, then when the patient is finally ready to open up or need to talk, the relatives may not the have time. It's quite common, can I call you back a little later? Then the opportunity to have the deep conversation may have been missed. We're just so busy.
Therefore, for some time I have been thinking about doing this app where patients and their loved ones can keep in touch, share photos, documents and above all, the patient can share his inner feelings and thoughts. This app is based around a timeline, where the patient and the close relatives share their input and build the cancer treatment process.
The timeline works closely together with another very central element the app, interviews. The purpose of interviewing is to get the patient to share his thoughts, feelings, habits, life experience in general, by asking many questions, mostly standard and then some random unexpected, we get the patient to open up and share with the relatives. Interviews are also added to the timeline.
So how does it work? Patients creates a profile and invites their relatives into the app and gives them different rights like read, write and delete. With writing rights, relatives can add to and correct the timeline and thus share on behalf of the patient. The timeline can be used to share appointments, documents, photos, emotions, treatments, scans, interviews, etc.
The philosophy behind Lets Fight Cancer is that we are stronger when we stand together, both in the families but also when the families stand together with the doctors, researchers and the pharma industry and therefore patients can choose to share their timeline with others but it is completely voluntarily and initially you do not share anything with anyone.
Our privacy policy must be clear and transparent, all the data that users share through this app can be deleted again with a single click and a yes. Relatives can be invited and removed again, data can be created and deleted, commitment to timeline sharing with doctors, researchers and the pharma industry can be given and removed unconditionally again. Users of this app are not being watched. Access to the user's location is solely to provide driving directions, there are no behavioral analyzes of users' data of any kind. But if you do give doctors, researchers and the pharma industry access to your timeline, it is for them to be able to find connections between patients behavior, treatments and the progress of the patient's disease.
What can be learned from each patient's timeline may lead to healthy conclusions that other current and future patients may benefit from. Therefore, by sharing individual timelines, this app can learn and change its behavior by being able to ask better questions and come up with healthy suggestions in the future.
I hope that this app will bring happiness and joy wherever the users take it.
